Today it was in the news in the Netherlands that a Dutch guy has been saved in a Belgian hospital. He suffered from multi antibiotic resistant bacteria after

an operation of the intestines. No medication worked and he got into a coma.

 

Then a doctor decided to give him bacteriophages! Virusses that infect and kill bacteria. He is much better now, though still in hospital. Now the articles I found are in Dutch, but here is a similar article. Bacteriophages are fascinating!
