Should I really be worried or is it all in my head

While I was on vacation, I went to a gentlemen's club that offered private dances. Well I got one, and it was really intense. It was full contact and I took advantage of it. She rubbed her vagina all over my bare skin and I was rubbing her vagina with my fingers. I got really caught up in to the action and started to lick her vagina. Having realized what I just did, I immediately left the club. When I got out to my car I rubbed antibacterial lotion over my face and hands then rinsed my mouth out with mouthwash at the first gas station I could find. All I have been thinking about for the past week now is "Do I have it???". I have flu like symptoms, but that could just be a coincidence. I have been staring at my lips looking for the slightest signs of an outbreak and every time I think about it, my lips kind of tingle, but only when I am thinking about it. So my question is, do you think it is all in my head or should I really be worried.

Hi,

You know.. this is flu season. And your mind can exaggerate everything you see and you feel.

When you get outbreak in your mouth, it should hurt a lot.

At this point, pretty much I think you are fine. Just rest a lot, take care of yourself, ... then probably the flu like symptom will go away...

If you start feeling a lot of pain, or see actual blister, go see a doctor immediately.

But otherwise, you're ok. Just try to relax... <smile>

That is a relief to hear, and maybe that will be enough good news to get it out of my head. I still intend on going to see the Dr after the New Year. Better safe than sorry.

I really appreciate the info. I have been reading up on Herpes for the past couple of days and it seems like you could have no symptoms to textbook symptoms. I'll breathe a lot easier if I don't see anything within the next few weeks.

Thanks Again?

I think you are both right. I'll order a Complete Blood Test for STDs and specify to include herpes, and then see what happens after that.

And NO I will not be getting ANY lap dances... EVER AGAIN!!!

First off your over reacting... That blood test will do nothing for you, goto a doctors office and you can get that kinda stuff done free... I wouldn't even bother in your case, not to mention its too early to detect herpes, and we all know what I think of blood tests for herpes... Your probably woundering why I'm telling you this??? Cause you won't catch herpes unless that girl was outbreaking, and if she was, there is a good chance she wouldn't be dancing and letting you lick her because A: she would be in too much pain... B: you probably would have noticed something, C: I cant see anyone in the world letting you do that kinda stuff when their outbreaking, no ones that cold hearted, D: if she was outbreaking you probably would have noticed something on your lips within 2 - 10 days after... Chances are you would have noticed something a day or two after, herpes is an aggressive virus... Dont worry, stop worrying, and stop looking at your lips, you'll drive yourself crazy...

HAVE A GOOD NEW YEARS EVERYONE ! ! !

Richard,

I know, I think I was over reacting too. As I was writing the initial post I was telling myself "You are over reacting". While I am 30 years old, I have not had that many partners and I have always been able to take comfort in knowing that STD's coming from me, were highly unlikely mainly due to the fact that I had known all my girlfriends for a few months before we had ever dated, let alone had sex.

I have been wrestling with the thought of herpes for a week and I am starting to relax now. You're right, no one is that cold hearted. However, what kills me is that most of the documentation that I have read on this subject included viral shedding and how it is possible to have HSV 1 or 2 without ever developing distinct symptoms. So in my mind I keep thinking that it was possible she didn't know she had it. I know again, paranoid... But I need something like a test to show myself that I am ok. I couldn't handle infecting someone else by accident.

How long should I wait to allow the optimal time for a blood test to be accurate? I am still going to the clinic on Monday to get a blood test for STD?s and try and get one for herpes, but my doctor will more than likely tell me the same thing you are telling me because I haven?t developed any lesions. They would always come with at least slight pain right? Also I am a little confused. Will lesions only form at the point where the virus initially entered the body and nowhere else, or could they form on the genitalia even though they were never exposed to the virus.

Thanks for taking the time to write, this message board has helped me out more than you could imagine. I probably would have really gone crazy if I couldn?t talk to someone about this. Both you and Faith really deserve a great deal of thanks for the help and reassurance you provide to all the people on this board. I have been checking it everyday and have been reading a lot of the other posts and my heart goes out to anyone who has this virus or thinks they do. So I salute you both!!

I know Faiths a sweet heart eh... I'm not actually infected with herpes, I do this because it makes me feel good... I'm glad your settling down, and I know that some ppl don't know that their infected with HSV-1 & 2... And yes many ppl do get infected this way, but I'm very sure you have nothing to worry bout... Smile... As for your blood test, if you've never had an outbreak, you probably wont have anti bodies in your blood making the virus impossible to trace for most ppl... As for how long you should wait... I would say 6 months, thats what I'm doin, and believe it or not my friend, I'm way more paranoid then you could imagine about stuff like this... As for your last question, the virus travels into your nervous system to establish residency... In the nervous system the virus can only attack certain parts of your body, so outbreaks will occur only where those nerves travel, not where the virus entered...

Worried Sick,

Thanks for the kind words.

I just echo what Rich said..

I don't think you should worry, either.

If you were infected, you would pretty much feel something VERY unusual. I can't really explain it well, but... you would know that something is wrong.

So.. don't worry!

Faith

P.S. And thanks Richhhh...!! :D

Thanks for clearing that up for me. All this must really just be in my head. After reading your replies last night, I went to work. Even though herpes entered my mind, my lips didn't start to feel weird like they usually do and there were fewer trips to the bathroom to check the mirror. I just woke up a few hours ago and I haven't even looked in the mirror.

Herpes was the first thing that popped into my mind when I left that club and has been on my mind ever since. It truly has been a sobering experience and one that will not be forgotten.

Hi @Anxious 1234 Did you get diagnosis for this?

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Well thank you I appreciate it

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
