Ocular Herpes Possible Transmission

I think I might have mistakenly touched a popped blister on my genitals and touched my eye.I have genital herpes.I woke up with irritation in my left eye and made an appointment to see my GP,and she checked my eye and said she did not see anything of concern besides a little irritation in my eye.She was not concerned, I was not referred to a ophthalmologist. So I made an appointment with one so I could see if I could be evaluated and see what the irritation was in my left eye. After seeing the ophthalmologist and telling him my fairs of possible HSV inoculation in my eye he did not stain my eye but did look through a device where he had me place my chin and after he looked he said he did not think that was the case and said he has seen some pretty bad cases of it.He did prescribe me Tobradex Opth ointment to which I had a allergic reaction too that turned my eyes red.He then prescribed prednisolone ACET 1% 5 ML OP, and my redness went away after a few days using the steroids eye drops which I just wined myself off of not to long ago,I had quick successions of sharp pain in the eye lid area of my eye.Im also feeling different sensation like my skin jumping around my eye and between the bridge of my nose area.I just recently had a pimple on my cheek which was clear but only one and went away after a day or two,I also had a small looking rash on the side of my head that went away after I applied cortisone 10 on it.I really would like to know what you think? Is this possibly herpes related?I would like anyone advice on this and the symptoms I described in my post is this ocular herpes?

The absolute majority of ocular herpes comes from established oral HSV-1 infections where the virus travels up the optic nerves from the ganglion. This can be quite severe as the doctor mentioned. I do not know whether HSV-2 is capable of causing severe eye symptoms in an immunocompetent person given its relative weakness in nerves in that particular location.

An infection externally to the eye in someone who does not have HSV is exceptionally rare. It is virtually impossible for someone who already has HSV to become infected elsewhere on the body with the same type owing the to the immune system.

I think you are doing right thing in having the doctors examine you and I feel you can have confidence in their conclusions supported by the near zero chance of innoculation in this fashion.

I've had similar problems. Burning on my eeyelids pain in my eyes heavy eyelids itchy eyes.twitching and numbness on sides of gforeheadand centre of eyes above nose. Went to see two oophalmologist one said dry eye syndrome and other said blithiritis . I think it is related to herpes and I would ddefinitely get  the blue dye ttest done. I have blurred vision too.

Better go with your ophthalmologist and get a split study and dye your eye

I'm pretty sure idid. I was told by one I had dry eye syndrome wwhich I canbe connected to herpes, according to other people on the forum. AAnd another oophalmologist told me I had blithiritis.  But I'm sure it'shherpes related.  Will try to have a florosien dye test just to be sure.

Be careful when you say it is virtually impossible; it may give a false impression. The fact is that, although uncommon, it certainly is possible to auto-inoculate. This happens when your immune system is suppressed; and a person never knows when this is the case.

Have to agree. I placed it on my eyelid and have had 2 o.b. ended up in the psyche ward for 8 days because of this damn virus. I've had hsv1 since 2014.

You are correct. I have now transferred this shit to my face, eyelid and breast. When you have a new encounter and the asshole had hsv2 on his mouth and said nothing getting infected also on your have will cause transfer. Here is proof. Had hsv1 and never had it move. Now it's all over my lips and face. Life sucks.

I was infected in January 2017 with hsv2 genital.

Fast forward to June 2017 and I develop 2 cold sores inside my mouth.  Never had them in my life. Ever since then I get random itches from my eyes, to my nose, to my ears, and my scalp. Have had strange sores that do not look like herpes on my eyelids, a few random sores semi-regularly on my scalp, 2 on my neck, 1 on the inside of my nose, 2 on the outside of my nose since.

It doesn't make sense, I rarely get sick, eat a pretty healthy diet, exercise regularly, which leads me to believe my immune system suck ass. But how !?!?

From what I have gather it could be adrenal gland over worked or possibly inflammation the body is fighting off. Fuck this virus and fuck all the people who think they will not infect you, but do. FUck all the people who know they have it and do not give you the option to decide on your own if you want to take the risk.

This  virus has ruined my life at 29 now 30 years old.

Ok. It just doesn’t look like herpes but I guess it’s a great masquerader. We suffer like hell with this disease.

Yep if you see Close up it is fluid filled:(

So strange. Getting it orally from kissing. I think mine just spread from acquiring it genitally up my nerves through the spinal cord. Now my face arms and legs are all numb and tingling.

HSV does not move itself up through different nerve ganglions inside the body. I don't know what has happened to you Fallin, but that absolutely is not how the virus works. If it was then everyone who got HSV1 as a child would also have genital HSV1 in short order.

I have no idea what Tense's swab tests results were. Last I had seen in other threads of her's, her Dr's refused to do more testing according to her. Nothing in the posted photos looks herpetic to me, and I've had oro-facial HSV since I was 9 with a variety of OB presentations.

No, it does not move on it's own. I have no idea who has told you it does, but it does not. Autoinnculation even in it's rarity needs viral matter from  active virus to transfer to other places on the body. There are other support forums with people who are in fact immunocompromised with things such as Lupus and they are not covered in HSV all over their bodies.

How can u b sure those are HSV2 lesions Tense?  Maybe it’s something else.

Had new infection. And swab. He had gone down on a girl i have now found out. He had a split in his lip and lied. He said it was dehydration. Wrong. If she had hsv2 and was active he transferred it to me. Hence oral and genital hsv2. Damn liar. Ugh

Yes, but every married person who I found out about that has this waited 6-8 months into the relationship to disclose it. But maybe you're right. If I had told her 6-7 months in, she'd still have Googled it and flipped out, and maybe it would have been harder then. I don't know. I don't see myself going through this level of pain and rejection so easily next time. I really don't. I'm taking the meds. I use protection. It's been almost a decade since I've had it so I'm not worried about shedding or passing it on so easily. British studies confirm that the first 2 years are the most contagious and we're passed that. I'm just over this. I've never been in so much emotional pain in my life.

Is this herpes? I can’t find any pics that match this exactly and my symptoms don’t really match. I don’t have really any of the typical herpes symptoms other than pictured, so I figured it could be friction as I have recently been having a lot of sex with a new partner. Way more than normal. Started having unprotected sex about 3 - 4 weeks ago. These symptoms only started about 3-4 days ago. Felt burning in some areas and only some very few tiny red areas/spots appeared. Almost shiny in appearance. Seems to settle very quickly. They were only present for a day or so. Also had some very mild irritation after I pee but not during. This spot has 2 small red lumps that are now dry around the outside. It’s like it’s been rubbed off and the skin is dry and shiny underneath. It doesn’t seem to be lesion. There was no puss or any leakage, nor was the skin ever red under them. They also got better within a day or so. I still have red spots around but they are very small and not bunched together and some general discomfort but I feel it’s because I’ve touched it so much! Stressing a bit!  my research tells me friction burn/blister , Fungal ,herpes a bit of it all! I have no idea! Please help! Thanks in advance.

I’m going to force him to get tested ! Thanks for your help !

@EssenceL25 there really isn't a question mark around the source, it's your latest partner. The median time from infection to an outbreak of lesions upon initial infection is 4 days.  The only thing that isn't certain is the type I suggest.
