Oh man,,,the pain is almost unbearable. Any soothing ideas? I was told by the ER doc to use plain Vaseline to coat everything before I go. It helps somewhat...

I've been having the same issue. Like almost passing out, clutching the wall, stifled screams kinda pain. For me there is a constant level of discomfort and sometimes shooting pain, but it's beyond description when I actually urinate. The NP's guess was because it looked there was a sore right over the uretha opening and possibly into it. I've been on antivirals for 5 days now and it's getting better. Things that helped me:

* Using hypo allergenic baby wipes with aloe instead of toilet paper.

* Applying baby powder after. Again, hypoallergenic, with corn starch, zinc, aloe and chamomile.

* Lysine ointment like for cold sores. I applied directly to the sores on my labia.

I also happened to have a UTI and yeast infection at the same time. Yay for me on a trifecta. NOT!!! lol So, getting medical attention quickly I think is key. Hope that helps, at least a little.
