Here is my story hope it helps someone out here. I usually don’t make long post.:disagree:

Had gHSV1 for many years but last year had a really bad ob and was placed on suppressive therapy I get few outbreaks but lots of nerve pain and other symptoms. I did a ton of research including on Terri Warren’s resources. Tried lots of supplements and went to a ton of different doctors.  A few times I really felt this was a losing battle.

I had really strange symptoms like twitching :noway: and random body wide nerve pain. I don't get many ob though just pain and twitching. Many so called experts said it can’t be HSV. Well after a battery of tests and doctors the conclusion it is HSV1 causing havoc on my nervous systems. Now I bet the trolls maybe ready to hit reply and tell me how wrong I am.  Someone here actually told me it’s not HSV it’s a sinister disease. :o  Unless you can show me your neurology degree please don’t bother.

My last visit with a top notch neurologist in my state he said based on all by different exams including full blood, MRI, EMG and  other neurological test everything points to HSV1.  He put me on gabapentin which has taken the edge off the pain.  Thank God.

Things are improving now but I live with daily pain now although diminished. I don’t focus on it and try to move on with life. I can still exercise, travel, etc. Yes it’s annoying as hell but no sense stopping your life. Time is our most precious resource.

So here is what I learned in my journey.

Work with your doctors. It you feel they are not prescribing the proper treatment then gets a second opinion.  Don’t stop trying to get BETTER. Trust them over the Dr Google self-declared experts.

There are some amazing and very supportive people here.  I even had the opportunity to meet some face to face all over the world. They helped me greatly and I appreciate it especially since it’s been a rough journey.

The new chat room is the world’s worst software I have ever seen. I think it's been infected with a virus too

Halford agrees that hsv is a nerve virus.  No hate, here.  I will let the haters' hate.  Some of the haters just pretend to know it all....

A lot of people will only go by expert opinion and facts and statistics but given that so many people are experiencing nerve pain that is related to having HSV and never had it before I don't think it is fair to discount it.  Man seen a lot of people say that they have nerve related issues since I got herpes and it's not just on this site either so maybe the experts just I'm not experiencing patience with the symptoms hence why the haters disregard it because they only go on certain experts opinions

Haters? What haters?

I cannot think of anyone who doesn't believe HSV can cause nerve pains in particular cases. I have met many genuine people with nerve pain. There are particular patterns and consistencies for these people. There are also plenty who are really having nothing more than wild guesses about their ailments. But, we're typically free people in free countries!

@BeachguyI think it is only fair to make sure you include all information to make sure readers can make up their own minds in the way you were free to do so.

Glad your pain seems better to you.  I will not discount anything with hsv.  I get twitches in my face but funny thing is, I get random muscle twitches other places, too....

One thing for sure is I get predrome tingling in my face pre ob every time.  That is the nerve reacting in my mind.  No doubt to me....

Haters will hate, too......

      Hello,
I was diagnosed with hsv1&2 earlier this year. I was prescribed 1g of valtrex (valacyclovir) a day for suppressive therapy.  Valtrex helps greatly with my symtoms, but I recently had to leave my job for health reasons and will no longer have health insurance to get prescribed valtrex.
Does anyone know where I can purchase valtrex (valacyclovir) online without a prescription?

Hello there. I'm a 24F, who has  had HSV 1 for 3 and a half years now. I got my first cold sore December of 2016 out of no where when I was 21. I was in school and working at a job that had me very stressed at all time. I came home one day and saw the bumps. Initially, I'd never thought anything of it as my dad always had them when I was growing up. Of course, you go on Google and after about 20 minutes of searching, you are absolutely devastated and disgusted with yourself.
The first year after my 1st outbreak, I'd occasionally experience some shedding, but didn't get another breakout until the following year. Since that outbreak, I've pretty much steadily had cold sores every month for the last 2 and a half years. I was told birth control would help, because I was noticing outbreaks begin about a week before my cycle. Didn't change anything though.
Earlier this year, I finally decided it was time to start suppressive therapy, given the fact that I had no success with natural remedies or hormone leveling using the birth control. I've seen no changes in the frequency of my cold sores since starting 1GM of Valcyclovior. It's been about 3 months, and I met with my doctor today to discuss the issue. She basically told me there was nothing she could do and to see a dermatologist. She also gave me the list of vitamins I already to take to try to include with my daily antiviral. I feel completely defeated. I don't know what to do now or if there is any hope. It hurts me so much because I'm so young and nothing has gotten better. Also, I don't think a dermatologist is the answer. Has anyone else experienced this?

So this is going to be a long one but please stick it out. I’ll be extremely grateful.
So after going to my doctors for a general check up due to me having Molluscum (had during childhood, but reappeared when I was 19) he mentioned having a routine STD check.
I thought nothing of it and accepted. Everything came back negative, syphillis, chlamydia, ghonnerea and HIV.
What I didn’t realise is that herpes wasn’t a routine test and I started looking online about what herpes involved. I was scared and uncertain about my status now beings as the more I read. The more symptoms I believe I’ve had.
starting in 2018 I had developed iritis which apparently can be a result of H. This however was during a stressful period of my life.
Since my first sexual partner my posterior fourchette has always been weak and I have little tears (not serious) ever since. They heal within a day.
However. Whilst itchiness, blisters, soreness is the typical symptoms for when people have it (and I have never had) I have noticed that I have had a very very thin, not deep, none sore (unless touched) cut on my inner labia a few weeks ago.
Then three days ago I had a tiny tiny cut which resembled more of very thin tear I guess it closer to a definition, since the one on my labia was more of a cut ( but I would also say like a scratch) on the upper part of my genitals just where the pubic area ended. It was quite sore when touched but didn’t bother me otherwise. I have had this cut before however typically when my pubic hair is growing back. In around about the same area which goes away within 2-3 days maximum.
Does this seem like genital herpes?
further more, I now have concerns about my mouth too. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. And had occurred two days after I started panicking about this, so I would say I was extremely stressed.
My tongue turned Pale and patchy with red indents on my tongue. Ulcers (eventhough they didn’t hurt) appeared on the back of the sides of my tongue. The sores then travelled all along the sides of my tongue to the tip of my tongue. (A few yellow patches still being on the back of either side of my tongue) Being in one place, then moving to another. I must say that I had smaller sores and then I had food poisoning which resulted in vomiting which then made the sores triple in amount. Also there are light yellow patches/dots on the back of my throat.
I have been using salt water rinses and bonjella on the sores. It’s important to note that the sores don’t hurt or irritate me UNLESS I use the bonjela which causes them to burn a little.
I have never had anything like this in my mouth before and this has lasted two weeks,  And I guess I’m just extremely upset because I’ve only had two sexual partners. And have been with my current partner for two years. So for all of this to suddenly occur has created so much stress for me. I’ve already told him that there is a possibility since I wanted to be open from the very beginning, but since the COVID scares, anywhere I could get the cuts on my genital swabbed is closed and it’s already gone now. So I’m hoping I could eat some advice here ..
when seeing my GP about my mouth she said it didnt look like herpes and was quite certain. She said it just looked like ulcers and said it could be down to the immense stress I’ve put myself under due to panicking.
      So... Is this thrush/stress/herpes???
Here are the links to the Reddit page I made showing the problems with my mouth as I unfortunately have no pictures of my genital cut.

@CHT I am not sure what country you are in but I am in the U.K. and they don’t do blood tests for HSV at the standard sexual health clinics maybe at private ones where you have pay they do.   What would checking my anti bodies confirm ? And she didn’t swab the area as she said there was nothing to swab and no lesions but I am sure there was. She seemed quite inexperienced.  I have had an lesion swabbed years  ago  to confirm HSV2 but no swabs  since.  I would like  to know if they are HSV or my excema as I never know which is which so I just don’t have sex when I get these feelings as I don’t know if I’m having a Outbreak.  I will have a look at the link thanks. I wouldn’t want to go on the implant again as I don’t want 3 years of birth  control in my arm. I may consider the mini pill which is the same hormone as the implant as I can easily stop this it I have a bad reaction. I have an appointment with a specialist at the sexual health clinic next week

Hey @PlainJane what a thoroughly nasty piece of work! Im afraid it is the waiting game for you, having said that, there seems very little reason for you to suspect herpes.
    • PlainJane
@WilsoInAus Thank you so much for the reply! You did before I even asked lol. I really didn’t want to talk to her about it. The last time we had spoken she was really mean and nasty to me. Threatening to beat me up because she was drunk. I don’t want her going around telling people I asked her if she has herpes because I have it. Which she absolutely will. Or she does and then I will be her scape goat for her to tell people I’m the one who gave it to her. I guess it’ll be a waiting game to get blood work to confirm or deny the presence of HSV2 antibodies.

Hello @PlainJane I think I recall your partner's post and would suggest that what he had as revealed in the photos was almost certainly not herpes - and reaffirmed above! The first thing to note is that you cannot be infected with HSV-1 and then test at a level 43.5 a total of 9 days after the incident. That's not how your body works. It would takes several weeks and possibly months to reach that level. Undoubtedly the HSV-1 infection is old and highly likely an oral infection from your childhood. The next thing to note is that toys or any object are not a great way of transferring herpes. Typically the rubbing of the skin area that is shedding the virus against the recipient's skin is needed. Transfer any other way is somewhere between infeasible to impossible. Your pictures do not look like herpes to me in favour of folliculitis - your partner's thigh shots are almost certainly folliculitis. Also note that this female friend must have HSV-2 for this to even warrant the vaguest notion of herpes being a cause. Can you ask her? If she does have HSV-2, then you will need a 12-16 week IgG test in order to have a conclusive answer (with a strong expectation of negative).
    • PlainJane
@WilsoInAus Could you review this? You replied previously on my boyfriends post of his butt rash. I guess all I can really do is find a facility who will swab when I have a suspecting bump, since my doctor won’t for some reason and then redo the blood test for HSV2 since it’s now been 4 weeks since possible exposure.
