Feeling scared and alone

Recommended Posts

Twilight3052

I found out I had herpes almost a year ago.. I feel depressed a lot and I cry all the time.. I've only had 2 outbreaks maybe since I found out.. but I feel alone in this world.. the guy that I was with for 2 yrs still won't get tested bc he feels like he doesn't have it and he's scared to find out but he takes my meds and a we are no longer together.. I always feel like my life is over and no other man will want me. I have no children and I always fear that when men find out that I have herpes they will think I'm nasty or be afraid to touch me.. only a few friends and family know my status and they always say it will be ok.. but no one understands how embarrassing and painful it is to have to disclose to someone and not know if you will be rejected or not..

Everyone goes through the initial stage of depression, but it will get better if you truly want it to. Become your own success story. In one year from now, do you want to come back on this website and post a story to others about how you succeeded? What would that look like? How will you accomplish it? If you want to talk, I'm willing, and so are plenty of others.

I am always willing to talk.. it helps me.. no matter how much I talk to my sister she will. Ever understand.. I have to just have a positive impact on this..

@Twilight3052

In 3 months you will feel better, in 6 months you will better and better, in 1 year you will feel better and better and better, in the long run you will be just fine ..

Everyone has finite time in this world. Everything including sex has limted time. Consider sex life is taken a back seat that's all but you still have so much to do friends, family, work, business, adventure, travel, research, networking, children etc ..

      Hey hi202020, the Varivax vaccine definitely removed the neuralgia for me, at least so far (fingers crossed). My signs of HSV1 infection after the blood test came back positive in December (with a high IGG of over 55) were: horrible flu symptoms initially (in February) with swollen lymph nodes, followed by almost non-stop, super painful genital neuralgia, and one oral outbreak in March. However, the neuralgia has completely disappeared since the end of April (about a month or so). I had the first vaccine on April 10 and the booster shot on May 19, so about a week ago.

      Hey Mackie I have the same neuralgia that you do, did you find anything that helped you? Did you try any vaccines? I’m feeling desperate as I’ve had non stop neuralgia/pain for 4+ months after contracting GHSV-1.

      Got my igG results after 13 months and it is negative I think I need to put this behind and may be rhink do some shitty infection that is causing this itching in genitals and on face. Just an FYI my Western blot at 7 months post exposure is negative.

      Exactly. Plus some people don't seroconvert ever or for a long time, so it's even larger than that.  Also, it takes longer for hsv. To show up on wb than on a commercial igg test.

      Even Terri says that sensitivity of WB for hsv1 is 95-96%. So somebody has to be in this 4-5%...
