Hi,

Has anyone heard on how did the latest trial go for theravaX vaccines in St. Kits and Mexico? I have developed auto immune diseases cos of herpes and viral infection in my eyes.

I really want this to end.

I heard about the recent news of Dr. Bill Halfords. May his soul rip, but is this going to hamper the progress of the theravaX vaccines?

Pls can you tell me of the latest progress?

"He said he hopes positive results from the 2016 trial and other overseas clinical trials lead to clinical trials in the United States of Halford’s vaccines in three to five years."

So the plan is to just delay clinical trials and availability in the USA by 3-5 years instead of trying to get clinical trials setup by the FDA now?

Lobbying for amenalief (approved in Japan)/GEN-003 (already passed safety trials and Phase 2) would be MUCH safer and faster than waiting 3-5 years for trials in the USA to START.

This doesn't make any sense based on RVX's mission. GEN-003 is supposed to BE out in 3-4 years anyway. Theravax is going to take YEARS before it's even trialed in the USA).

If everyone wants to wait 3-5 years for a vaccine for the trials (phase 1) in the USA and then another 5-7+ years for it to be approved and out on the market - which means looking at 2025-2029 before any RVX product is when AVAILABLE in the USA - I guess ...good luck. Absolutely no guarantees here at all it seems. There was so much talk and passion from RVX. It seems like it was all hollow promises on getting something safe and quick to people?

We need something faster. If you want something faster, safer, and better. Join our movement. We aren't going to wait 8-12 years for something to be available in the USA. By then GEN will be on their 2nd or 3rd HSV vaccine in the USA.

Oi,

Were you one of the participants of the test in 2016 on St. Kits? Have you had your worsening with the vaccination ?? I did not understand your comment, please clarify.

A doubt came to my mind: let's take into account that a person is vaccinated by theravax (live attenuated virus), and later choose to perform a genetic editing procedure, in this case as there will be a secondary infection, it would be more difficult to work with crispr Cas9, because we would have a much larger number of infected cells or not ??? Could anyone explain?

An injection of live avirulent (barely replicates) in your leg will not do anything if you want to remove latency from another location.

A response to why...

Its really hard not to bash Theravax. I genuinely try my hardest to not see the negative in theravax but I would only be lying to myself. Im desperate for help like many of you but c'mon.. So many false promises and lies.

Where are the results? Desperate People will fly down south and pay 1000s without any data. It sounds like a pure money grab vs trying to help them out.

Why isnt Rational vaccines offering the vaccine there anways?  I dont ever recall Halford talking about Minerva??

Did Thiel not invest millions?

From what I understand. Compassionate sales werre approved in st.kitts because the vaccine is approved there. Dr.halford has mentioned before about c.sales but I dont think he mentioned Minerva. Although the doctor working in minerva lab is in RVx. Again. This is from what I understand.

What do you mean by "why isnt rvx offering the vaccine there ? ". You mean why they didnt announce it officially on their site ? Well the site of Minerva Lab is still under construction. You can call the doctor there. @RVX Patient and Investor added her number in previous posts in this thread or the other one I guess

Sean,

How many times are you and I going to tap dance about this?

Yes, Thiel invested millions.  Yes, the vax is available via Minerva Labs on St.Kitts.  thats the only govt allowing it at this time.  Yes, Bill died so when his doses run out its gonna be a lot more expensive.

What false promises?  What lies?

Get over yourself.  Everyone has a hard time with HSV, it's no reason or excuse however to attack those trying to help!!  Who else is offering anything right now??  Or even trying to??

Btw Dr's Veloz and Hanley are NOT RVx employees.  They simply use RVx products, and can be reached via Minerva Labs.

Don't succumb to the dark side Sean.

Pfizer doesn't sell direct to patients.  Neither does Merck, GSK or anyone else.

RVx makes the treatment available to Dr's.  Dr's treat the patients.  What's the problem?

no pharmaceutical company sells direct to patients.  Dr's can use the treatment we make available where it is legal to do so.  a DOCTOR, not RVx, treats the patient.

obviously Bill died and so thats delayed everything, and there are endless arguments here from profiles who claim they were in the trial and yada yada yada.  long story short, i don't know when the final papers from the 2016 trial will come out.  but Dr.Veloz was the Dr who administered that trial, so maybe she could give your more info.

i just want to make clear, that i am not pushing for anyone to go and get shots.  i am simply stating the reality of the situation, which is that people can now get a consultation with Dr's Veloz or Hanley to see if they can get the shots, and that the shots will be a lot more expensive once Bill's doses run out.

i believe the rationale is really to make the vax available to those who are willing to seek it out, take the risks, etc, but really the intention is for those suffering the worst.  i don't decide who gets shots, and i don't even really feel comfortable advising anyone that they should do it, unless they themselves want to.  i do however want to get the situation as it is relayed here, so people can decide for themselves how to proceed, if at all.

      Hey guys and girls,
Yesterday I was diagnosed with genital hsv-1. I’ve been taking medicine for this since Tuesday though. Last week Saturday I had my first outbreak, I realized it on Friday, but thought it was an ingrown hair until the guy I was dating staring moving funny on Saturday morning (I haven’t received oral or penetration from him in like two weeks though). I went to urgent care on Saturday morning. When initially went to the DR he said it just looked as if my skin was irritated and gave me some cream to put on it. I know my body though so I failed to believe it was just irritated skin. He drew blood because he felt as if I didn’t have enough for the culture (he still performed one though). Anyway, I started researching to figure out how I could soothe my pain and decided to go to the free clinic where I lived. The obgyn looked at my outbreak and told me it was herpes. She also took a culture, but put me on medicine right away. I’ve been taking the medicine twice a day, have been using Dermoplast to numb my vag so I can use the bathroom (I haven’t used it in a couple of days though because it’s easier to use it without having to deal with it burning), taking epsom salt baths multiple times a day, using tea tree oil, and placing an ice pack on it at night. When i first thought I had HSV I wanted to die...like literally wanted to end it all because 9/10 I used condoms during sex and can literally count how many times I’ve had sex. But then I decided to just educate myself. Yesterday, dr #1 called me back for my results and told me it was genital hsv1. I feel like a lot of us forgets the danger of having unprotected oral. I’ve contacted all the partners I’ve ever had and told them to get checked for hsv 1 and 2 so they won’t infect an innocent girl. How do you guys deal with gHSV1? How often do you have recurrences? Are any of you on suppressive therapy?

      Hey folks.

I posted here last week, I didn't include a picture so here it is. Also my previous post if no one saw it. Does it look like herpes to you?

Hey guys and girls. Anyone any advice for me? I feel at a loss. I haven't been properly diagnosed, only a visual diagnosis. On Friday night I was with my fella, we've been seeing each other for 5 months and always used a condom. Everything was fine, then Saturday I felt a little nippy down below. Sunday came and I decided to have a look down there. I was horrified at what I saw. In the entrance of my vagina was a rather large white patch,it looked like a hole, filled with white stuff. After that it got really painful to pee, very painful to walk and even sit down. I told him it looks like herpes, as I googled it.
So that night I took a bath, and had another look after my bath. The white stuff had gone, and honest to God all i could see was a bright red looking hole. So this morning I went to my local clinic, and had a nurse take a look. she said it does look like herpes, it could be herpes, but it may not be. She tried to take a swab but the pain was that bad that everytime she touched it you had to peal me off the ceiling so she had to give up, gave me anti viral medication and an ointment to apply and I've to go back next week. I've had my suspicions for a while now as my ex had coldsores, and after a night with him I started to feel funny down there. This was a year and a half ago. Eventually I got diagnosed with vulvodynia, which I'm now thinking it may have been herpes all along.
I don't know what to do. Feel disgusting. My boyfriend says if we'd never break up over it, but I'm an over thinker and I'm thinking the worst. I only done 2 things different last week, I used a hair removal cream, and used a different condom to the ones we had been using. Racking my brain trying to think of what else it could be, but honestly I do believe it's genital herpes and I'm gutted. It's the worse physical pain I've ever been in, peeing is the worst.

So  about 2 months ago, I started having unprotected and protected sex with a new person. During this time, I was experiencing a lot of itchiness and some burning. When realizing this, I decided to go to my gynecologist who tested me for all vaginal bacterial infections and all stds. The results came out negative even though I have been having this constant itching and burning on my labia. I have also learned that when I have sex, the itching and burning gets more intense and sometimes my whole vulva would be inflamed for a day or two. My sexual partner also got tested for stds and he was negative as well. I don't know what to do to make this itching and burning stop. I stopped having sex for more than a month now and the problem still hasn't gone away. I keep thinking its herpes even though I got a blood test and never had any kind of sores and my partner has never experienced any kind of symptoms for it. What can I do?

Hi there friends My name is Katie and I have been brutally embarrassed and bullied by the cold sores I get since kindergarten. I used to get them every time the seasons changed like clockwork and they would continue to affect me into my adulthood, restricting me from wanting to go to school/work/out with friends/etc.
To help empower me, I made this video parodying "7 Rings" by Ariana Grande to embody embracing your true amazingness despite your cold sore. It includes the tips that I have learned over my 23 years to zap the sore before they get worse and my roommate/bestie designed and created all the clothes featured in it. Check it-
      MY COLD SORE TIPS--
      -zinc
      -lysine
      -carmex
      -celery juice
      -coconut oil
      -valtrex
have helped shorten the life of my cold sore WHAT HELPS YOU???
#REALSLIMSORECHALLENGE : post the video & say your OWN tips to SHORTEN THE LIFE OF PESKY ASS COLD SORES.

Also, get out of your house and live your life!!! 1/2 people have cold sores, why do they make us feel so bad about ourselves?

      DESTIGMATIZE THE SORE!

Recently had my first big outbreak (I had a scare of what I thought could have been one last month but even though I got swabbed asap tested it came back negative). After about a week into the outbreak on my genitals I then had an oral outbreak (never had a cold sore before at least to my awareness). While I am on antivirals (taken the day the cold sore showed and the genitals have started clearing this oral one just seems to be getting worse. The nurse said it was likely HSV-2 but I am still waiting for my results. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to cope with this oral outbreak? I am currently staying at my boyfriends' house and am worried it will travel from inner lip/mouth to be more visible, the idea of his parents seeing it fills me with dread.
Also, any good websites/blogs/youtubers to follow to give me a little more hope to this all.

Hi there,  Long time lurker, first time poster, and I'll keep it simple and condensed.  I've only signed up because I realize the depths of suffering some people are in, trying all sorts of desperate treatments, and I've basically been sitting on something that has taken me to near 0 outbreaks (hsv1 genital). When I first got infected some years back, I had an atypical presentation--no pain or itching, but permanently there. Bumps going up and down within the same day even, but pretty much permanently covering the head of my penis. Doctor swabbed it--came back hsv 1; he said it looked like it to him too.  Now to the meat of it--rubbing alcohol. Its simple, and I'm pretty surprised that I've only seen it mentioned once here--a woman was talking about it, so I assume it works for girls too. I apply once daily, to once every 3 days, and that keeps me pretty much permanently outbreak free.  It quite literally went from every day broken out for me to just about nothing. Anyway, to the what and where of it all...    I use 99% isopropyl. 70% seems good too. I now have a spray bottle, but used to just dump it on the head and roll my foreskin up over it for like 20ish seconds--whatever process is actually happening, I like to think I'm facilitating absorption into the soft tissue by doing this and wreaking havoc on the virus. Obviously, you may have to do it a bit differently, genital depending. I've been doing this treatment for a few years now, so it has staying power. I read once that herpes is shreded by alcohol, so if true, I guess that explains it? However, iterupting regular treatment seems to have anecdotally, but not with great surety, made the herpes a bit less suceptible to the alcohol upon resumption.  Yes, it burns terribly at first. Over time it gets better. Some days it still really burns, and in those cases I advise listening to your body and cutting the countdown short. Other than that, it feels really damn good to basically tell herpes to eff off.  I don't know what kind of health risks there are. Or whether using a high % grain (drinking) alcohol would work / be healthier. I advise asking your doctor--afterall, alchohol is implicated in throat cancer. Who knows if 20-30 seconds daily on your junk can do something too.  But for those who struggle constantly, I truly hope this can help someone other than just me.    I also hope that this finds its way to the right forum. I wanted it in a place where casual, straight from Google, viewers would see it when they came here, and I'm hoping--and asking, please--that if I didn't get it in the right place, a moderator can instead. And, should it help as I suggest, perhaps even stickying it one day.  I'm sorry in advance, I'm not a big forum person and don't come here crazy often. It just felt like something I should do for everyone else's sake. Hopefully you can excuse me if I'm an absentee topic starter.  Thanks for reading, - Taylor

Hey @Jazz923 they don’t look like herpes lesions, more like pearly papules that some guys get.  I’d suggest these are independent of your herpes status. The question of your herpes status will depend on the test that you had. What test suggested you had HSV-2? Was it a blood test?
    • Jazz923
I recently seen these bumps on my penis didn’t hurt or itch only broke because I was masturbating (dumb move) this cleared up in week I got test and said it was hsv 2 but my gf got tested and had nothing I didn’t experience the things I seen on google and I didn’t take the medicine cause it has the virus in it I just need a bit more clarification like any kind of test or anything helps     https://ibb.co/pRm0VbJ

So I guess I'm just on here for a bit of a rant, as today I woke up with my second outbreak in a month! My initial one was only at the end of April, and even after investing in a load of vitamins, lysine etc I'm in this situation again. I was hoping I'd be one of those who never gets another outbreak, but apparently not.  I think the problem is, I really liked my life before all of this crap, and I don't really want to have to change anything. Going to the gym is amazing for my mental health, and i normally go around 4 times a week. I also love a bit of chocolate every day (but I eat super healthy for the majority of the day) and being a uni student, I'm partial to a few cocktails and late nights every month as well. This is my time to socialise with my friends and have some fun. At 21 you really don't want to be taking your life too seriously.  Does anyone else just feel annoyed about having to switch up a happy life that they enjoy? I understand there's a lot of people who had unhealthy lifestyles before their diagnosis, that went on to lose weight which is great! But I'm already slim and active, and I eat freshly cooked food every day with lots of fruit and veggies.  I'm starting to believe that the only way to avoid an outbreak is to sit in my flat eating salads all day and have no contact with anyone else (in case of stress). Like I legit feel like I need to wrap myself up in cotton wool and just not allow myself to have a life at all. I'm so frustrated that I have to stop doing the things that I love. I'm going travelling next month, and I would bet all the money that I have that I will get another outbreak, because of the plane journey, late nights and alcohol. I just want to be a normal 21 year old who gets to enjoy her life! Does anyone else feel the same?

The meds work the same as long as you take them every day (some are one a day, some are multiple times per day). They cost money, but there is no reason you can't take them for life. Most people would just take the meds, but if you are married for 20 years and the meds are annoying for some reason, and you don't care about it, then maybe don't bother? It's up to the two of you. Skipping the daily meds would increase the risk from 0.7% per year to 1.4% per year (assuming sex 2x per week). That changes it from a 1-in-140 year event to a 1-in-70 year event (assuming you still use condoms every time). To be honest, most married people would probably rather skip the condoms before they skip the meds. It's up to you what measures you take though.
