Tense, I think you need to look for alternatives causes of the burning.

From everything online hsv wouldn't cause this burning for so long.  Things like pelvic floor disoreer, histamine intolerance (have you tried benedryl tabs?), And anxiety can cause ongoing burning in the knees to navel area.

HI I take Amitriplyn for the burning, it does help. Use tea tree oil mixed with olive oil as well.

I'm of the belief that you can get postherpetic neuralgia (phn) from HSV just the same as you can get phn from Varicella-zoster (chicken pox). I have a very good doctor and he feels it's highly possible. I've worked in mental health for many years and I've never heard of people having burning pain in the genitals because of anxiety.

Tense, I really encourage you to look into pelvic floor dysfunction. It causes burning pain and does not respond to things like amyltriptiline.  The book "Ending Female Pain" by Isa Herrera was a lifesaver for me as I was in agony and NOTHING was helping.

Coconut oil is an antiviral and has serious cooling effects. Might help you with the burning as it helps me.

This is most likely due to your HSV infections. And it’s somethig to do with the nerve irritation or very minor damage. If the gapanetine and the AV is not helping then try some natural remedy like olive oil with oregano oil or tea tree oil but be careful 1 drop of tea tree / oregano oil with 25 drops of olives  oil. Doctors know nothing about herpes nerve pain, they are trained to say this is skin condition. And many of HC members who don’t have nerve issues disagree to us. I don’t wish anyone to face any further trouble with H since this life long infection is more than enough but imagine it with nerve pain 24/7. So please people try to understand some of us are getting severe nerve pain due to H infection so please don’t keep saying it’s not H. And someone is saying anxiety cause burning between the knees and the navel area can you kindly provide some sources. If you would like to have some sources about HSV and PHN please just google it and you will find 300 articles and people reporting the same. Many thanks

Yes, that is related to pelvic floor dysfunction in some women. I had outer labia pain/burning/tingling feelings as well as stabbing clitoral pain. Pelvic floor dysfunction does not mean "inside the vagina" only.

I am so glad I mentioned this. Any suggestions?

This book was a lifesaver. It explains how and why this can happen to women, and shows you how to help yourself while you look for a pelvic floor physical therapist. You will probably need to see a PT at least a few times as they can help even more than the book, but the book is an excellent first step.

This disorder is very prevalent in women, and you can have it and HSV at the same time.

Yes, I know you do. I was stating that you can have this disorder and HSV at the same time and it feels like everything is just going insane because treatment for one issue isn't resolving all the pain/issues. See you with the burning. Were it PHN it would of responded to at least one of the nerualagia medications which is why I suggested reading this book to help yourself because pain in that area is hellish speaking from personal experience.

If the chair is new there is a slight possibility of this. However keep track of the following

Do you sit the same way at work that you do when at home and in less pain?

Do you sit in chairs at home with similar shape/seat shape as the work chair? (Certain padding types can push against the genital area and cause discomfort for people with PFD)

Do you sit more at work than at home? Often times getting up and walking around helps reduce sitting pain/burning

Not all people with Postherpetic neuralgia find relief with neuroleptics or tricyclic antidepressants. Whilst I'm not totally ruling out pelvic floor dysfunction, herpes cannot be totally discarded as a reason for chronic neuropathic pain.

I don't really sit on a chair at home unless I'm eating at the table. But i do notice if I take my gabapentin I have no pain until it wares off. I also end up with sciatic pain. Oh Lord. I miss my avs. Dr said I can't take them all the time it will kill my liver.  Does this pain ever stop :,(

Hopefully the gabapentin will see you through for a few months and then your symptoms will subside. It’s a really good sign that your pain can be stopped with neuroleptic medication. Most people get better with time and I’m sure you will be one of them.

Burning is finally gone. Man just wish the anxiety would stop.   I know how some of you feel. I am middle age and blew my future to be with someone I love. Praying my life for a partner is not gone. Being alone sucks.

But now the staph infection seems gone, are you able to start dating again. You’ve got your negative tests to share so make sure partners lay their tests in the table!

No, I'm not dating. Stillget issues when I eat sugar and got an outbreak twice since November. Saw the derm and she said I need to hold off on the antiviral and see if my outbreak gets worse. Pain, prodomes etc. She said that she needs to see what dose she needs me on because it'll kill my kidneys.  Actually in pain right now but no actual blister this time. Just red, burning and quite uncomfortable. Do you think I should still keep testing? I did get swabbed on the face and it was positive but they didnt do not. It was prc. I already had hsv1. Not sure what to so at this point.

She even said I need to get a liver test. No avs are not good. They damage liver and kidneys being on them long term as does other kinds of meds

I am fortunate enough to live near one of the most prestigious hospitals in the USA that rates high in infectious disease diagnosis & treatment. I went to a specialist and asked direct questions including about casual sex. Firstly, I have ghsv1. She said: Casual sex is NOT off the table. When someone chooses to have casual sex, they are accepting the risk of contracting an STI. There is no obligation to disclose in this situation unless going without a condom. The risk is extremely low from a one time protected encounter . Don't do it if you are having symptoms. If you have sex with this person repeatedly, especially if you go without protection then you should disclose. If someone rejects you for it she says he's an asshole and a germaphobe. Because it's no big deal

I wanted to validate your choice. He saying 500mg. Plus he was saying it was his favorite for HSV.
    • HSV-1
Immediately after it clears Phase 3, they might price Pritelivir in an exorbitant fashion and only prescribe it to immunodeficient patients (AIDS). I'm also curious how fast HSV is expected to evolve resistance against Pritelivir.

So I disclosed for the first time last week. I was feeling confident after reading all of the positive disclosure stories out there. I was armed with the stats and presented the information in a calm manner as recommended. I was happy to find out that the guy already had a lot of knowledge about it because had an ex w the same issue. It was nice to have sex without having to worry about harboring a secret, I felt normal for once   I got a text from him in the AM and I was hoping for the usual "had a great time, can't wait to see you again" but instead he was blithering on about being paranoid about the contact. We exchanged one more message that day, and today I sent one, no response..... pretty certain I've been ghosted.  I am back to that dark place where I feel like I'm unlovable / unfuckable dreg of society. I'm a single parent which doesn't help, nobody wants a relationship w someone like me... add the herpes and I might as well be a 400 lb amputee on welfare with an IQ of 70. I feel like I am going to have to eventually "settle" for someone that is willing to be with me, but I don't really like them. I feel that a man that is willing to accept this is probably an unwanted outcast himself.  So ultimately I fear I will have nobody, or settle for a guy that disgusts me

Maybe I should up my intake of olive leaf?
