This really sucks

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone..

It’s comforting to see via webz that I’m not the only one in this world dealing with this hell. I’ve had cold sores since I was a child and they have always sucked and took a hit to my self esteem .. but luckily they didn’t occur too often for it to feel like a big issue in my life. About 2 years ago, I had a cold sore outbreak and a few weeks after it healed my bf got his first genital OB. Though I had not performed any oral while I had visible sores, we assumed through shedding he may have contracted it prior to my OB :( I felt and still feel so terrible that I passed it on to him , but luckily for him he had two OBs and none since! Well August 2017 I got my first genital OB. I feel like my life has changed and it makes me so sad. I get genital OBs pretty much every single month and have had 2 cold sore OBs during this time period which is so strange because usually I get a cold sore outbreak once year or two .. I’ve gone even longer before ... Now I’ve have two cold sores within 7 months!! I don’t know what is happening to me and why it’s so aggressive. I just want it to end :( I’ve been doing a lot of research on what I can do to prevent outbreaks and I’ve been doing my best to fix up my diet but I still get OBs every month :( I guess I’m here looking for some comfort and support because this fucking sucks and as crazy as it sounds I’m determined to find a cure .. or at least a way to completely suppress these OBs

I'm sorry you're going through this, I know how much it sucks! Have you and your boyfriend been type tested? It's rare but not impossible for you to get genital HSV1 after having oral HSV1 for decades. So IGG type testing would let you know whether you and your BFs genital herpes was HSV1 or HSV2. You would only need to test for HSV2 since you know you already had 1, and he would test for 1 & 2.

Considering that you had years of antibodies built up for HSV1, it's strange that you're having so many genital OBs. Have you tried antivirals, they may help. I've read L-lysine is good for HSV1 but it didn't help my HSV2 at all.

or, Try to get a swab of the genital ones too- to see if they are type 1 or 2.

I'm not that well versed in HPV but HPV eventually is cleared by the body on its own.  A vaccine does exist which helps immunize against certain strains of HPV (not all of them), but will not treat HPV for those who already have it.  Everyone, male and female, who is eligible should get the Gardasil vaccine. If a new vaccine exists to treat HPV that's great, but I'm doubtful based on a quick Google search.

I am new to all of this. My girlfriend has been told by a docter she has Human Papillomavirus (HP) and that in Mexico they have a cure they just develop, I guess a month or so ago Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine , have anyone heard of this. It is a lot on the internet about it. But I don't know how much I trust it.. Thank you AMM
