HSV 2 oral

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I started a new relationship with a partner who also has hsv2. I've been partaking in some oral sex and noticed some irritation on my lip after dinner.  Looks like a rash. I noticed it after I felt it after eating pineapple.  What are my chances of reinfection

Chances are very low.  First you have an established hsv2 infection.  Second hsv2 almost is impossible to catch orally.  If it is caught it almost never shows symptoms or if it does one time and then never again. So even if you did catch it I don't think it's worth worrying about.

It feels sensitive like cold be an allergic reaction? No blisters now. Just just hope I didn't get it on my lips

Not true.

WannaCry

It is very unlikely to have a 'second site' infection of the virus type you already carry. I can think of two known cases of it, one on our board and another on Terri's. Both had extenuating circumstances (the guy had sex with a woman having an active OB, which is always discouraged)

If your lip blisters or anything of the sort, obviously go get swabbed. But based on the info you are giving it's not likely to have been 'reinfected'.

When who gets a positive test? I have already tested positive (as you and I have discussed multiple times in other threads and I state here) and HIPA would prevent me for getting his results unless he willingly provides to me, but as I’ve also stated HE won’t get tested.  Ya can’t get blood from a stone. He has nothing that would even start to compensate for the pain and suffering, let alone the missed work because of the pain!

@Balancelife when you get a positive test, sue him!

Read what I wrote and start Googling.  Both the Einstein College of Medicine (William Jacobs and Betsy Herold)  and University of Pennsylvania/Trivalent (Harvey Friedman) seem to believe they are on the right track and have established relationships outside of their respective universities.  Yes, it’s early, but they are taking the bat and readying to swing at HSV.   Cross those fingers and stay positive!

Where ever you are trolling, I’ll be right there.

Fingers crossed!! Could you elaborate a bit on the research or maybe post a link to it? Definitely could be a little light in the dark 🙂
