Hi, I'm new with this disease. I was herpes 1 positive, I only had an outbreak once a year or two years (oral herpes in the corners of the mouth).
I was in high school when I got it (I was 17 years old).
.
6 months ago I went to a concert, I met a girl, bla bla bla and she gave me oral sex. A week later I had a horrible itching and transparent urethral discharge. The itching felt the same as when I get oral herpes. I did IGG exams at 2 weeks and only type 1 positive came out (which I already knew) herpes 2 came out negative. After 3 months I returned to take the test and the two positive ones came out.

After 4 months I did all the tests: HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia. All negative. Only herpes type 2 positive.

I never thought that for a blow job I could get herpes type 2.

In these 6 months my only symptom is horrible itching that lasts about 3 -4 days. The first attack, it lasted 45 days.

Yes, herpes 2 can live in the mouth and can spread, I had that experience.

My main question, my only symptom is the itching (currently every 3-4 weeks) can I get worse? Currently I do not take antivirals (only when I get it in my mouth), and I do not take the arginine diet, I eat normal.

What do you think?

My girlfriend keeps saying she wants to do oral on me and "swallow".  I know for vaginal sex definitely we'd have to use a condom, but not sure for oral. I know HSV2 prefers the genital area.  Would it be better for her to just use her hands to avoid the extended oral contact and then just "finish" in her mouth? The "swallowing" thing apparently is important to her because she's persistent with it. So is it in semen? Having the green light to just "do it" sounds to good to be true. So I'd like to know how to do this safely. Thank you. (I was diagnosed more than 10 years ago and I'm asymptomatic)

On Feb 10, I slept with somebody new. I specifically asked him if he had been tested for HSV and HIV via blood test. He told me he had just been tested two months ago and everything was negative and he hadn’t slept with anybody in a year. He either lied to me about being tested or lied about his status. I believe he knew he had HSV2, was not taking antivirals, and didn’t care if he infected me. Now he is using it to make me feel like I HAVE to stay with him because we both have this. And he is minimizing it.

I am in pain, depressed, having suicidal thoughts (don’t think I’d act on them), and feeling hopeless. I have nerve pain all over my genitals, my lower back, my butt, back of my legs. It’s a constant pain and burning. I’m also bleeding as if I’m on a light period! ITS AWFUL! I don’t understand why anybody minimizes this!!! INFORMED CONSENT IS SO IMPORTANT! I feel violated! I’m so angry

      Hello all!
Feels good to be back and to be alive!
So, since I've been on this last, life has taken a drastic turn. Mostly for the better. My outbreak count has diminished greatly, although when they do happen, the little bastards make up for lost time. My mental health has improved alot. I've been sober for over 2 years and I have a feeling that has help tremendously in my physical and mental outlook. And lastly, I've got a girlfriend. We've been together for almost 3 years and we are looking ever so forward to our future.
      However....
      She dosen't know.
We've restrained from having sex this entire time and alot has to do with my ability to keep her at bay. Not an easy task when your in love with a sexy girl who is madly in love with you. We however have found ways to get our kicks. I go down on her almost every day and she loves it. She jacks me off and somewhat does oral through my shorts or pjs. Either way we both cum and usually in each other's faces. Life is just dandy.
I'm as paranoid as ever but have developed a routine to keep my worries at bay. Cleanliness is a major key to my sanity and/or insanity. Gloves have become my best friend and it seems to be a fulfilling relationship. I've been warming up to telling her and I have a good feeling about it. We are on the same page and we are totally devoted to each other. Sex is something we look forward to but in my head it's my biggest fear.
That's where the "experiment" comes in. My hypothesis is as follows:
If it goes over well, and only if, I want to have sex with her, but with a series of "protectants". I've been researching condoms use and its effectiveness on hsv. That combined with an antiviral dosage and as far as I can tell, it's more than capable of warding off her contracting hsv. But it is only transferable through skin to skin contact, right?? Well here's the kicker, I've devised a series of boxers and tighty whities with small holes cut in the crotch. With all of them on, my groin, thighs and partial stomach is covered. Before I put them on one by one, I put on a condom (maybe 2, let me know your thoughts on whether that is an effective idea) and put my penis through each of the holes one by one. By the time the last pair is in, the bottom ring of the condom is covered, thus no skin is showing and the surrounding skin is covered in a thick cotton cocoon of a fruit of the loom diaper. Seems good in theory, but I need some advice from you all in whether it will work and would it be effective.
Let know what you think and your advice.
      Thank you,
      TheKittiesTitties

I had unprotected sex November 16th 2019. I tested positive for HSV2 on December 10th >5 (igg) , retested December 14 and now stated >13.80 (igg quest).
Today is December 16th and I have yet to have any symptoms or lesions anywhere. HOWEVER, a Week later after exposure I had a sore throat to where drinking and swallowing was very painful for about a week.
I know she Has HSV2 because she told me (deceivingly too late) and I understand HSV2 is rare in the throat but could this be my case? I hope so. No initial OB on my genitals in 30 days since exposure with no medications.

p.s I still take no medication.

Hi, I have been suffering from a sort of burning tip of my tongue and a little uncomfortable sensation in my mouth. Sometimes, depending on what i have eaten or drunk i get a blackish/deep red spot on the side of my tongue and lots of little dots near the tip of my tongue. These do not ooze, scab or ache but just appear.
I also have white dots on my lip (top) which look like Fordyce and my bottom lip also seems to be constantly chapped and peeling in places.
My nose had also become itchy and greasy and sometimes red patches appear on my face, near my eyebrows.
Has anyone had anything like this happen to them, is it and allergy or something more sinister, I have seen several sexual health consultants and GPs and they cant see anything wrong, but to me it certainly is.
I am extremely stressed so perhaps this is making it worse.
I hope someone can help me.

@CHT I am not sure what country you are in but I am in the U.K. and they don’t do blood tests for HSV at the standard sexual health clinics maybe at private ones where you have pay they do.   What would checking my anti bodies confirm ? And she didn’t swab the area as she said there was nothing to swab and no lesions but I am sure there was. She seemed quite inexperienced.  I have had an lesion swabbed years  ago  to confirm HSV2 but no swabs  since.  I would like  to know if they are HSV or my excema as I never know which is which so I just don’t have sex when I get these feelings as I don’t know if I’m having a Outbreak.  I will have a look at the link thanks. I wouldn’t want to go on the implant again as I don’t want 3 years of birth  control in my arm. I may consider the mini pill which is the same hormone as the implant as I can easily stop this it I have a bad reaction. I have an appointment with a specialist at the sexual health clinic next week

Hey @PlainJane what a thoroughly nasty piece of work! Im afraid it is the waiting game for you, having said that, there seems very little reason for you to suspect herpes.
    • PlainJane
@WilsoInAus Thank you so much for the reply! You did before I even asked lol. I really didn’t want to talk to her about it. The last time we had spoken she was really mean and nasty to me. Threatening to beat me up because she was drunk. I don’t want her going around telling people I asked her if she has herpes because I have it. Which she absolutely will. Or she does and then I will be her scape goat for her to tell people I’m the one who gave it to her. I guess it’ll be a waiting game to get blood work to confirm or deny the presence of HSV2 antibodies.

Hello @PlainJane I think I recall your partner's post and would suggest that what he had as revealed in the photos was almost certainly not herpes - and reaffirmed above! The first thing to note is that you cannot be infected with HSV-1 and then test at a level 43.5 a total of 9 days after the incident. That's not how your body works. It would takes several weeks and possibly months to reach that level. Undoubtedly the HSV-1 infection is old and highly likely an oral infection from your childhood. The next thing to note is that toys or any object are not a great way of transferring herpes. Typically the rubbing of the skin area that is shedding the virus against the recipient's skin is needed. Transfer any other way is somewhere between infeasible to impossible. Your pictures do not look like herpes to me in favour of folliculitis - your partner's thigh shots are almost certainly folliculitis. Also note that this female friend must have HSV-2 for this to even warrant the vaguest notion of herpes being a cause. Can you ask her? If she does have HSV-2, then you will need a 12-16 week IgG test in order to have a conclusive answer (with a strong expectation of negative).

@WilsoInAus Could you review this? You replied previously on my boyfriends post of his butt rash. I guess all I can really do is find a facility who will swab when I have a suspecting bump, since my doctor won’t for some reason and then redo the blood test for HSV2 since it’s now been 4 weeks since possible exposure.
