HI!

I posted a week ago asking if my sores are herpes related (Which I still have but healing and few more poping). My Test results came back and my whole STD panel test came back NEGATIVE and even my swab test.

My NP is convinced that i have a herpes but not the Transmitted Herpes?? I dont understand is there another mutant herpes out there?

My symptoms are that I’m Low in Vitamin D, I have been having mild fever almost every night since i think even before the ulcers break, joint pain and fatigue and hair loss (Since High School) I’m also really stress lately. I mention all of this to her but all she said it could just be from post partum? (Im 4 months pp)

I meant theres no way i have it or my husband because he has been staying home for months and we are always together and he swears he didnt cheat. This is why im confused also the ulcers have a yellowish puss? Should i get a second opinion?

Thank you all!

Did you definitely have the IgG test specifically for HSV-1 and HSV-2 and get some values for these two tests?

Let's assume you did and they are negative and then we add the information that your swab is negative. This is indicating that other causes have a greater likelihood than herpes. I say this as you are likely to need a 12 week test after the sores broke out to be conclusive in the negative.

Your NP is not very knowledgeable. Herpes for some practioners does refer to the whole herpes family of which there are nine in total, numbered Human Herpes Virus (HHV 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6A, 6B, 7, 8). At least 4 of these directly cause lesions/rashes. In adults this is mainly HSV-1 , HSV-2 and VZV(chicken pox, shingles). All herpes viruses are infectious, usually requiring close contact with an infected person.

It is still possible you have herpes (just looking a much lower chance now) from your husband AND he didn't cheat. He may have an oral HSV-1 infection for example from his childhood that can transmit during oral sex.

Regardless of the above, you do not have a diagnosis of anything! I feel it is wrong to believe to continue it is herpes. The main reason being that there are far more serious issues that it might be - but also plenty of innocuous causes such as rampant yeast.

So yes, I'd seek a second opinion.

Yes Its diffinitely the IGg test for Hsv1&2.

But she prescribed me a pills called Valtrex. I havent taken any yet should i take it? I was advice to only take the pills if i feel like im having OB.

I dont think i got it from oral sex since my husband never give me oral and i dont either. This is why its frustrating.

she mentioned like it could be herpes zooster? If i heard it right. Thank you

I think the NP is quite likely to be on the wrong track. I really would seek the second opinion immediately.

Herpes Zoster is VZV (Varicella Zoster Virus, HHV-3). It is the virus that causes shingles and chicken pox. Could this be the cause? Possibly yes, but a few other things it might be too.

Yes, but every married person who I found out about that has this waited 6-8 months into the relationship to disclose it. But maybe you're right. If I had told her 6-7 months in, she'd still have Googled it and flipped out, and maybe it would have been harder then. I don't know. I don't see myself going through this level of pain and rejection so easily next time. I really don't. I'm taking the meds. I use protection. It's been almost a decade since I've had it so I'm not worried about shedding or passing it on so easily. British studies confirm that the first 2 years are the most contagious and we're passed that. I'm just over this. I've never been in so much emotional pain in my life.

Is this herpes? I can’t find any pics that match this exactly and my symptoms don’t really match. I don’t have really any of the typical herpes symptoms other than pictured, so I figured it could be friction as I have recently been having a lot of sex with a new partner. Way more than normal. Started having unprotected sex about 3 - 4 weeks ago. These symptoms only started about 3-4 days ago. Felt burning in some areas and only some very few tiny red areas/spots appeared. Almost shiny in appearance. Seems to settle very quickly. They were only present for a day or so. Also had some very mild irritation after I pee but not during. This spot has 2 small red lumps that are now dry around the outside. It’s like it’s been rubbed off and the skin is dry and shiny underneath. It doesn’t seem to be lesion. There was no puss or any leakage, nor was the skin ever red under them. They also got better within a day or so. I still have red spots around but they are very small and not bunched together and some general discomfort but I feel it’s because I’ve touched it so much! Stressing a bit!  my research tells me friction burn/blister , Fungal ,herpes a bit of it all! I have no idea! Please help! Thanks in advance.

I’m going to force him to get tested ! Thanks for your help !

@EssenceL25 there really isn't a question mark around the source, it's your latest partner. The median time from infection to an outbreak of lesions upon initial infection is 4 days.  The only thing that isn't certain is the type I suggest.
