I was just recently diagnosed. Naturally, I’ve been doing my research but I was just wondering if there are certain foods you know will cause an outbreak and what I should be eating to make sure I don’t have out breaks

also , what about coffee and drinking alcohol??

Really interested to know also as I've recently been diagnosed (early April) and would like to see if there is a pattern.

  • 2 weeks later...

I take Neem capsules and use neem oil, been outbreak free for almost 2 years, and I drink coffee every morning, wine after dinner, socially drink on rare occasions, eat chocolate when I crave it,...I eat whatever I feel like, no restrictions, except no-GMOs, but I ate organic years before contracting herpes.

Hoping others have the success I've had. And can live "normal" again.

I'm curious about your diet I guess different strokes for different folks...

What type of Herpes do you have 1 or 2 ?

Why neem oil ? How long you had it... I eat the same..  Everything in moderation except peanuts.... that set me on fire.. didn't know... doctors dont tell you this. I wonder why if this is so common.. why so much misinformation

Yeah I'd like to know about Neem as well...did you have a hard time before the Neem? I've been looking for something for 15 years....so far no dice...if a supplement does have a effect it's usually to make it worse...though I'm determined to find something this year...

I drink frequently and eat fairly healthy, I haven’t changed my diet habits since I was diagnosed (hsv2) a year ago. I’ve only had 3 outbreaks and I don’t think my diet has been a factor for them. everyomes different of course!

My cold sores are usually hormonal, around my period. I'm non-stop fighting them at this time. If I eat a lot of sugar, caffeine, chocolate, or overdo the alcohol, my immune system is compromised and they're much more likely to hit.
