I went to the doctor almost 3 weeks ago with difficulty urinating and a little irritating feeling at opening of vagina kinda like a yeast infection was going to start.   Had felt sluggish and not myself for the few days prior but after fever started went to dr next day.   Saw the PA she did urine test and said you have blood in urine and called it a UTI gave antibotic and diflucan with no pelvic exam that was on a Tuesday was out of work all week and returned to doctor on Saturday due to increased irritation in vaginal area and still running fever.   Saw another PA who again only did urine and labs and said UTI and yeast infection with no pelvic exam she changed the antibotic and prescribed more diflucan along with cream for external use.   By the following Thursday was feeling better no fever but still highly irritated down below and I was trying sitz bath with coconut oil tea tree oil baking soda salt anything to try and sooth it.   Went back to doctor on Thursday of week 2 and this time actually saw a doctor. The nurse was shocked that neither PA did exam down there!  So doc does visual exam I was to raw to do much but he suspected BV and swabbed for that got urine and blood for std panels. And started me on antibotic for BV.   I emailed to get lab results on Tuesday and doctor called to say BV was positive and HSV2 positive all other tests negative.   I cried all afternoon and night.   I was in committed relationship for over 5 years and now with someone new for almost a year so not sure if I got this from one of them or if I had it prior and just now had an outbreak as I have a lot of stress having lost my grandmother to cancer and then having surgery myself to discover the mass was precancerous and I have another mass on kidney that may be suspect. And nodules in my lung .   I am only 46 with 3 grown children.  What do I do now my current partner has been accepting of this diagnosis and had an appt scheduled to talk to his doctor.   I do not want to infect him as this has been so unbearable like have a hot coal in your vagina!!!! I am seeing the doctor again today because I have so many questions of what to do and how to clear it all up down there.    Will the antiviral drugs help clear the outbreak?  Should I be taking something daily to keep it from flaring up.   What other health issues can this cause with someone who already had other issues going on with kidney, liver and lungs?

Hi there welcome. To start off you’re not alone we’re all here for you. The Avs will clear the outbreak and you can request to be put on suppression medication which means you take AVs daily to suppress the virus. Your health issues indicate you are immuno compromised so I would suggest requesting AVs for suppression because those health issues could trigger outbreaks. There is nerve pain and itching associated with this virus but a healthy lifestyle is also needed to help you with it. I wish you all the best here’s hoping the mass on your kidney is benign. Try to be stress free as stress is a strong trigger for outbreaks.

Thank you for your reply.... I have just had mri on kidney and see the urologist for results tomorrow but he has already told me based on ct scan that he wants me to see a specialist surgeon who can remove the mass laparoscopicly using robotic technology so I expect I may opt for Surgery but wonder how this new Diagnosis will affect my recovery.   I am definitely going to ask for the daily antiviral to suppress it and start researching proactive measures I can take to keep an outbreak from happening

Good morning. My name is Marlena and I come from Poland. Sorry, my English is average. For two years I have been in a relationship with a man, for a year and a half I have been struggling with intimate problems. On average, my intimate condition is getting worse every month. Then I feel itching, redness, swelling around the entrance to the vagina, small blisters (not always). Most often it is only red and swollen, itches and then disappears. This state lasts 3-4 days. I come from a small town, doctors don't know what it is. They say it's 'skin irritation'. They prescribe moisturizing creams with lactic acid, probiotics. It doesn't help. I did a blood test for HSV on my own, which is very expensive in Poland, but it does not separate HSV1 from HSV2. The doctor, when he shows these results, says that it's not herpes, but irritation. I would like to add that in the past I suffered from herpes on the lips, then it was a 'scab'. There has never been a scab in an intimate area. Sometimes there are blisters that last 1-2 days, but not always. So what do high blood test results mean? I would like to add that in Poland people do not talk about the HSV virus. It's just that sometimes someone has it on their lips and that's it. Results translation: IgM HSV 1/2: questionable IgG HSV 1/2: result above the measuring range https://files.fm/f/4cpu7uee4

This is my first time posting here. Im generally pretty anxious when it comes to anything to do with health conditions etc. For context I have had jock itch and fungal infections previously on my buttcrack. I have had 0 new sexual partners and I am not concerned about my girlfriend cheating at all. 4 days ago my balls began itching and red pretty much all over, as you can see some general flakeyness and what looks to be a lesion I noticed on Monday when I checked them out. My partner and I do get cold sores from time to time so the anxious part of me is concerned this could be herpes, but at the same time could be some sort of fungal infection. My doctor cant see me until tomorrow so I just have to worry until then. There is no pain and nothing on the penis or anywhere else, just general itchiness. Any ideas if this is herpes or not?

Yes, but every married person who I found out about that has this waited 6-8 months into the relationship to disclose it. But maybe you're right. If I had told her 6-7 months in, she'd still have Googled it and flipped out, and maybe it would have been harder then. I don't know. I don't see myself going through this level of pain and rejection so easily next time. I really don't. I'm taking the meds. I use protection. It's been almost a decade since I've had it so I'm not worried about shedding or passing it on so easily. British studies confirm that the first 2 years are the most contagious and we're passed that. I'm just over this. I've never been in so much emotional pain in my life.
