Glad she was there.

How are your outbreaks now?  Obviously not that bad.  But would you say they are annoying or a nuisance? Or still fairly impactful?

I'm only just getting over my first outbreak. It's been 4 weeks since infection and the sores have gone but it's itchy and burning still. Coconut oil seems to ease this though. I think the next year will be the test as to whether I'm going to suffer alot of outbreaks but I'm being super healthy and taking supplements etc. I'm scared to death to be honest!

I hear you.  I think worrying can only make it worse.  Try to stay positive.

I think my anxiety might have made everything worse for me.

If I were you I probably would not disclose genital hsv1 if anything maybe say you've had a coldsore before if you can get that across in his language. You should probably get the guy tested before you catch HIV HSV2 or HEPC etc from going condomless. You're assuming he is STD free.

I did get fully tested for STD's after the condomless encounter.  I have been with him a few times since this original post most recently about 3 wks ago. All encounters have been protected. I still have not told him, nor he has not caught anything from me. I haven't had any outbreaks either.

Fast forward months here: Had a discussion w this man about STI's in general. I still had never disclosed to him! Then he described to me how sometimes he gets a rash after a rougher sex experience but he assured me it was not an STI!  He said this has happened to him for years now and then. He described an outbreak..... he has no clue!! I cannot believe I carried around this anxiety for months about disclosing to him and then he told me this. Crazy

Did he ever get tested ?

Not for herpes. For everything else though. He is not making the connection that the rash he gets IS likely an sti. He has had like zero sex education.

Omg you crack me up. Being reckless is sleeping with a condom and not having any other sexy foreplay before just in case? This was not a random dude I just met at the bar that night, he had been talking to me for 3 months before.  The lawyer was reckless for not disclosing or taking antivirals or whatever. I trusted him for being so nice to me.

How could I have gotten hsv1 on my genitals as a child??? I’ve never had a coldsore either in my life. My body changed after I had sex with that idiot, which sucked  and it’s not pointless to know who did this to you when in some states it’s considered a crime to transmit an std to another person.

its very very very hard to know who gave it to you..my drs told me is pointless. and to come back positive for hsv1 on blood test, its alsaw kind of dumb because most people get it as children, and they dont have any outbreak..so could be the lawyer..or not...

I am in a similar situation. I experience the dizziness every day. I feel fatigued most of my day. I get tiny cuts in the genital area and lips. I get burning/tiny red dots in the genital area. I get tingling sensations in different areas. Valocyclavir did not work for me. I have a tiny, white bump on my lip that crusted over. All tests (no Western Blot) have been negative. Blood work is negative. This all started after I had unprotected sex.   What are your oral outbreaks like?
