Little bit of a background story, had sex about a year ago with a woman i didnt know just a one night thing. She performed Un protected oral, then we used protection after words. Ever since strange symptoms appeard like currently, started off with a single red  small bump, then a rash looks like it moved its way to my foreskin after a few days. Did a hsv IGG test at the 6 month mark came out negative. Doctor insist on saying it balanitis & wont let me take another test. But this is the second time this occurs and i am un sure if this is balanitis... or herpes just need opinions idk what to do. Currently my foreskin where i peel back(yes im un circumsised) is red/inflamed and burning and my glands had red spots for the second time. Doctor gave me cream to put on. And just feels unconfortable. Had my calfs cramp up before, had my thighs be extra sensative where it hurt a few months back where anything like boxers irritated my thighs. Also never had any blisters down there though. Its about to be a year and still no clear answers. :'( any advise or opinions would help. Also i am un sure of how to upload images here. Im assuming thats possible for this wesite. Thanks.

Yes images are possible just click insert other media at the bottom of the post.

An Igg blood test at 6 months is 99% accurate.

I would believe your Dr.

Hello! Thanks for your reply! And its not letting me upload any image thats over .1 MB not sure why. Its not that i dont want to believe the Doctor its just these symptoms are just anoying and i dont want to pass them over and kind of strange that this has been going on after a sexual encounter. The images themselves would describe my situation alot better. This has really been destroying me mentally.

Totally agree with Scooby, balanitis is not real easy to get rid of. The red marks will change shapes and it can also be fungal or bacterial. You will make it worse trying to clean it too much, not that you are doing that. His fungi/bacterial infection did not go away after many creams and two rounds of prescription meds that were rough on the liver. It didn't go away until he took 1t of black seed oil 2x a day.

Thank you for your reply, really appreciate it as well. I guess ill just take my doctors, and the advise you all gave me and try to get over it. I didnt even know Balanitis can re occure this often. especially since i took good care of myself down there after the first time it showed 6 months ago.

I would also eat an ounce of real fermented vegetables. They have kimchi in the refrigerated dept of the vegetables at Walfart :) in a glass jar with a red cap. That will give you 10 trillion good bacteria at a great price of 6 ish. Maybe black seed oil 3x a day, wake up before supper and before going to bed. Do not heat it as it will ruin it. yogurt is a joke.

No, it is not for sure. :relieved:Now, you will find people who have these and have hsv or yeast and it doesn't mean the two are related.  It is normal and it won't be noticed until one is looking for something else.

I believe Wilso said they are normal on men. Ask him

Thank you so much for your reply! And your saying that it isnt? Any chance you can tag Wilso? To see what he thinks. Im not sure which one to ask.

The testing trumps here mate. The combination of no lesions for swabbing PLUS negative IgG means it’s game over for herpes. You were not infected with herpes in the episode you describe.

Thank you @WilsoInAus and @Quest really needed that. Just panicked because my penis was burning like if it had a fever and turned red (silly comparison) and the same to my body for a while. Yea ive seen images of both balanitis and yeast infections they do resemble my pic. Just a frightening situation for me. Thank you all again i can finally put my mind at ease.:relaxed::heart:

See if your body can deal with it because it is benign.

vamp up your immune system by eating some fermented veggies can get them at whole foods or walfart in the veggie section, red jar of kimchi in the refrigerated part of veggies. Much cheaper than paying 30 dollars for good probiotics. Eat 2 t a day. tastes like pickles.

Please donate to the site by buying Wilso a Vip membership. It will cost 2-24 dollars. It helps the site to stay afloat. :thankyoukiss:and good luck!

Hi "Jeremy"..... I agree, the topic of your HSV status does not need to be something you disclose too soon in a developing relationship..... get to know each other first....see how it's going and as it progresses, then the HSV issue will naturally need to be revealed.... it's my personal opinion though that before there is any sexual encounter you ought to disclose your HSV status.... I know some will disagree with me on this but, I think it is morally wrong not to disclose first.  This can be a make/break situation for most people but, again, I feel it is simply wrong not to give the other person the whole story since your decision not to disclose could put their health at risk.... that is simply not an option in my opinion.  Looking back to my "pre-HSV" life I most certainly would want my partner to disclose their HSV+ status before intimacy so that I could make my decision as to whether I want to take that risk or not....

Thanks, CHT. I appreciate the feedback. The whole trauma of going through this has led me to figure out a lot about myself and my attachment wounds, so I'm taking courses to come out of this better. This girl really was my dream woman in so many ways, it's been the hardest heartbreak to deal with ever. I'm truly in a lot of pain, but using the pain as fuel to launch that new business and work with coaches. I also opened up to my family about HSV, so my parents and sister know now, and they were very loving and accepting of it. Since opening up about it, I feel way better around this thing. After opening up, I also found out that some mutual friends in our family have discordant couples who are married with children, so HSV hasn't stopped them from living a loving life. The thing is... all of these couples I mention did not disclose until 6-8 months into the relationship. So now I'm thinking it might be better not to disclose until I know things are very serious. I'll of course stay on the medication and use protection, but maybe this is a better route than disclosing upfront and scaring women off.

Hey @Lcj987 and welcome to the website. You can be sure that isn't HSV-2, looks nothing like it. It is much more likely to be folliculitis or inflamed fordyce spots.

Hey @JackThrowAway herpes causes an outbreak where it enters the body first and maybe a progressive spread. If it doesn't cause an outbreak at the entry site then it won't cause one elsewhere, it also won't 'jump' upon infection - it would be more likely that the lesions are continuous from the penis to the anus. Nevertheless, testing trumps symptoms or any interpretation of symptoms. The correct conclusive result arises when: you have a positive swab; or An IgG HSV-2 level over 3.5 (Herpeselect test).

Slept with someone unprotected, roughly 2 weeks ago now. I felt generally unwell the couple of days after but I’d been drinking the whole weekend and didn’t have much sleep either of the days of that weekend so put it down to that. 6 days after I noticed these spots appear on the shaft of my penis. Along with symptoms of discomfort in my shaft in the couple of days prior to them appearing. No pain when urinating at all that I have noticed. They don’t hurt, itch or tingle and they don’t have fluid in from what I can see or feel if I squeeze them and have never burst? I went to a sexual health clinic to get checked up, they took bloods to do a full test and looked at the spots but said they saw nothing that concerned them but I’m not sure about that, any advice? The smaller spots under the shaft are just follicles I had diagnosed years ago and non-sti related.
