Why so much talk about treatments that have been proven not to work?

Hello,

When I first thought I was exposed I went on a frenzy of finding research and studies that have been conduct by leading medical research groups. In my journey to understand this better, I ran into a variety of natural treatments that people recommend that when tested in labs and studies have little to no efficacy. But damn near every post on hear I see people recommending these remedies? Am I missing something? Is this website for woowoo herpes treatment or a support group? Maybe I am to harsh, but I just dislike people getting bad advice and spending money on treatments that don't work or don't work better.

Be careful you’ll be viewed as negative for speaking the truth. People here are willfully ignorant, they will follow whatever anyone says if you need proof just look through all the threads telling people to drink bleach for this. They won’t listen to you even though you’re making more sense than I’ve seen here in a while.

Hi,

After trying all,you came to know about efficiency.People who are newly diagnosed having enthusiasm to try new.let them try and know the efficiency.

What's wrong in that.

After all they are atleast beleiving something which may work or maynot.

Hi Goku (cool name btw would’ve been cooler if it was vegeta lol) he’s telling you that studies have shown it doesn’t work so why try it when there’s concrete proof that it doesn’t work?

Do you have definite solution?no then what we do.

Something is better than nothing.

I personally met with 4 ayurvedic doctors and 2 homeopathy doctors and 3 patients who were diagnosed with ayurveda.

All are saying one thing ,the antiviral or drug we are taking will work 40 percentage only.

Remaining 60 percentage will depend upon life style of individual.

Patients who were diagnosed, they didn't have outbreak from last 8 years.they are saying it's all about life style(eat less, sleep well,no non veg,no spicy food and be happy).

If you feed 100 grams of protein to 10 people, all will never gain same weight.

Each one of human is unique.

I am requesting to all members,we don't know wether cure comes or not .we don't even know that is exist or not.

Till the cure comes atleast try to listen your ownbody and follow which diet and which life style keeps you energetic and outbreak free.

Every one of us should be healthy.

Anti virals reduce shedding rates especially for those who are sexually active. I agree that a healthy lifestyle will help but those of you engaging in dangerous practices and other methods that won’t work and are encouraging others to do the same, I don’t agree.

So you don’t like what I say now you choose to attack me in my personal messages? @Hockeyawesome1. I haven’t been here in a while yet you want to call me obsessed yet you’re the one messaging me about a comment you didn’t like and claim I’m here everyday when that’s clearly not the case. Even if I was here everyday what business of that is yours? You think saying I have no life is an insult or that I have no friends will hurt me? That’s so juvenile because I’ve talked about my life outside of this site with many members who have messaged me personally. I’m sick of people like you thinking the internet means anonymity and you can intimidate people however you want. If you don’t like something i said ignore it like an adult and move on.

@Hockeyawesome1 please don't go to personal.we all are just expressing our opinion which may be not true.

But i am sure that every one of us here has right to express their individual opinion or experience in this site.

No one has a right to insist other person about medication or treatment.

@Taintedgirl please don't see our positings as conclusions, they are just our opinions or experiences.

I hope all of you can understand.

I use a natural treatment. In my post about it, I always state this worked for "me."

Last night after a personal message came through that neem sounded crazy, I posted several links with actual studies showing institutions and research centers, including John Hopkins, are finding it effective and preventive against recurring outbreaks. One study I read found it more effective than acyclovir

I posted links in herpes treatment zone, managing outbreaks and pain relief.

I didn't expect it to work, because like you said, at first, I was trying all kinds of crap that did nothing. So, my expectations were bottomed out. I am neither ignorant nor unintelligent.

Also, there are way more posts on this site discussing acyclovir and valtrex than the handful of posts discussing neem or even the other popular natural remedies, that I, myself, found ineffective.

21,000 valtrex search results (including misspelled valtrax results), 196 search results for Neem (and 50 of them are probably mine), 9030 search results for acyclovir, and 18 for Graviola (again I think all of those are mine). Even tea tree oil (I tried, but do not use) only brings up under 2000.

Good morning. My name is Marlena and I come from Poland. Sorry, my English is average. For two years I have been in a relationship with a man, for a year and a half I have been struggling with intimate problems. On average, my intimate condition is getting worse every month. Then I feel itching, redness, swelling around the entrance to the vagina, small blisters (not always). Most often it is only red and swollen, itches and then disappears. This state lasts 3-4 days. I come from a small town, doctors don't know what it is. They say it's 'skin irritation'. They prescribe moisturizing creams with lactic acid, probiotics. It doesn't help. I did a blood test for HSV on my own, which is very expensive in Poland, but it does not separate HSV1 from HSV2. The doctor, when he shows these results, says that it's not herpes, but irritation. I would like to add that in the past I suffered from herpes on the lips, then it was a 'scab'. There has never been a scab in an intimate area. Sometimes there are blisters that last 1-2 days, but not always. So what do high blood test results mean? I would like to add that in Poland people do not talk about the HSV virus. It's just that sometimes someone has it on their lips and that's it. Results translation: IgM HSV 1/2: questionable IgG HSV 1/2: result above the measuring range https://files.fm/f/4cpu7uee4

This is my first time posting here. Im generally pretty anxious when it comes to anything to do with health conditions etc. For context I have had jock itch and fungal infections previously on my buttcrack. I have had 0 new sexual partners and I am not concerned about my girlfriend cheating at all. 4 days ago my balls began itching and red pretty much all over, as you can see some general flakeyness and what looks to be a lesion I noticed on Monday when I checked them out. My partner and I do get cold sores from time to time so the anxious part of me is concerned this could be herpes, but at the same time could be some sort of fungal infection. My doctor cant see me until tomorrow so I just have to worry until then. There is no pain and nothing on the penis or anywhere else, just general itchiness. Any ideas if this is herpes or not?

Yes, but every married person who I found out about that has this waited 6-8 months into the relationship to disclose it. But maybe you're right. If I had told her 6-7 months in, she'd still have Googled it and flipped out, and maybe it would have been harder then. I don't know. I don't see myself going through this level of pain and rejection so easily next time. I really don't. I'm taking the meds. I use protection. It's been almost a decade since I've had it so I'm not worried about shedding or passing it on so easily. British studies confirm that the first 2 years are the most contagious and we're passed that. I'm just over this. I've never been in so much emotional pain in my life.
