Diagnosed with hsv 1. I get cold sores

Hello, 

I have recently been diagnosed with  Hsv1. I’ve been devastated because I’ve never had a bf yet. So now this diagnosis just ruins everything for me. I’m scared of rejection and possibly transmitting it to someone else I happen to date in the future. So now I’m apprehensive to talking to anyone now. Does anyone have any advice or insight on this situation. For those who have been in this same predicament, how have you dealt with dating?

Iam also recently diagnosed with oral hsv1.

My opinion is better to concentrate on medication,life style and diet for first six months.Most of the doctors saying that,disease is more contagious in first 3 months.

Right now better to forgot about dating and rejections for short time.

Well in reality you can look at this as less ruining your dating potential!

70% or more guys have this and you are a perfect concordant match. Its even better as all the cute ones have HSV-1

Most people deal with this by saying “like 70% of the population, I have HSV-1, if you have it too, thats cool for both of us, if not, we will always avoid contact if i think i might have a sore coming on, no guarantee, but low chance of transmission”

Lol so whenever you have dated, do you usually tell people right off the bat that you have herpes? Or do you wait?

Ok gotcha! Do you do the same with kissing as well?

Usually not it must be said. Some ask about STDs or other issues before kissing and they get a straight answer though.
