Prophylactic Vaccine???

Is there any promising prophylactic vaccine?? We already know that therapeutic one still flying over the rainbow.. but I think if there any successful vaccine.. whatever the route.. it could be great.. at least at that time.. we can’t pass our virus to the LO.  I don’t mind with the outbreaks and pain.. it’s more pain to realise that we might put the person that we love on high risk because of our virus.

What does a prophylactic vaccine do? Stops the spread so we’re not contagious?

A prophylactic vaccine protects those who do not have the hsv virus from getting it....ie if your partner received a hsv prophylactic vaccine they couldn’t get it from you.

Prep for hiv works likes this for herpes... Just not at a 99% rate like it does for hiv. I wonder if doctors formed a cocktail of valtrex and whatever else could it work in this manner

This would be my ideal situation..... all I want is to not be able to pass this to anyone else. I would be satisfied with a vaccination for someone not infected and I could live with my symptoms when they happen.

Yes! I mean come on, the symptoms are generally some itching, mild nerve pain, skin bumps and ocassional blisters. These are not enough to cause a strong impact on ones life quality unless u have painful blister outbreaks all the time which is super rare. However the symptoms are still bad enough for partners to care. And having your dating life destroyed or severly damaged are super impactful in ones life quality.

If someone came up with a viral marketing campaign you could create a gofundme or some other fund raiser.

Imagine the reaction you would get if you posted papers with the words "ITS OK TO HAVE HSV" (and in small print underneath a percentage/statistics) anonymously around college campus

It would work and it wouldn't even have to be correct and here's why: the fact that people see it, they begin to question it. "Is it really OK?""are those statistics true?"(they look it up, if its wrong its still high, accurate and the effect is the same)"do I have it and not know?""did I ask to be tested for this?"

The idea is to get people to care and frankly you can do it with simple viral marketing. It would also be kind of like trolling people but with facts. Once the right people care, the rest is numbers.

A sheet of paper like that can have a third small print link on it to a website that is just for a fundraiser for a cure. Make it viral. No pun intended. Anyone seeing this needs to seriously think about it.

Yes, but every married person who I found out about that has this waited 6-8 months into the relationship to disclose it. But maybe you're right. If I had told her 6-7 months in, she'd still have Googled it and flipped out, and maybe it would have been harder then. I don't know. I don't see myself going through this level of pain and rejection so easily next time. I really don't. I'm taking the meds. I use protection. It's been almost a decade since I've had it so I'm not worried about shedding or passing it on so easily. British studies confirm that the first 2 years are the most contagious and we're passed that. I'm just over this. I've never been in so much emotional pain in my life.

Is this herpes? I can’t find any pics that match this exactly and my symptoms don’t really match. I don’t have really any of the typical herpes symptoms other than pictured, so I figured it could be friction as I have recently been having a lot of sex with a new partner. Way more than normal. Started having unprotected sex about 3 - 4 weeks ago. These symptoms only started about 3-4 days ago. Felt burning in some areas and only some very few tiny red areas/spots appeared. Almost shiny in appearance. Seems to settle very quickly. They were only present for a day or so. Also had some very mild irritation after I pee but not during. This spot has 2 small red lumps that are now dry around the outside. It’s like it’s been rubbed off and the skin is dry and shiny underneath. It doesn’t seem to be lesion. There was no puss or any leakage, nor was the skin ever red under them. They also got better within a day or so. I still have red spots around but they are very small and not bunched together and some general discomfort but I feel it’s because I’ve touched it so much! Stressing a bit!  my research tells me friction burn/blister , Fungal ,herpes a bit of it all! I have no idea! Please help! Thanks in advance.

I’m going to force him to get tested ! Thanks for your help !

@EssenceL25 there really isn't a question mark around the source, it's your latest partner. The median time from infection to an outbreak of lesions upon initial infection is 4 days.  The only thing that isn't certain is the type I suggest.
