100% true. Progress is being made. The fact is HSV is one of many infections where the exact mechanisms are play are unknown. This means a lot of (intelligent) guess work is still being done.

Also, I think the statistic is that only 20% of drugs/vaccines advance from phase II to phase III. This means any new therapy discussed on this forum has approximately a 20% chance or less of making it to market.

That’s pretty depressing :(

yes, but the world doesn´t start and end in the USA, fortunately....living in an era where all the info is shared, we can only hope that other countries work in the same ideas and push a new therapy forward without the influence of the FDA...

That article was pretty generic, are there any follow up articles in how this works?

I couldn’t find anything, looked like more of an advertising thing to me. I don’t think any research has been done at all.

Because there's always someone new who does not make billions. You need to explain the hepatitis c medicine(cure) and why they(big pharma) did not stop making the drug

Divon

The patent for aciclovir has expired long ago. Who the fk buys brand valtrex? No its not the big pharma that are bribing people, it´s that FDA requirements are a bit too harsh and that nothing has really met the target. The only thing that seems to have met the target is pritelivir and amenelivir but there are kidney problems with those. Probably quite mild kidney problems however.

I'm 99% confident that these are caused by Herpes. This is what they looked like when I first caught the virus, and in the same spots as well, although now much milder and smaller in size.  I have tested positive via swab when I first got the virus, and two times via blood test. However, since several people here are doubting my symptoms are caused by HSV, I might do another swab just to be sure. It's still good to rule anything else out beforehand.

And btw  @ayekayelle I’m sorry you’re considering divorce. I hope you are able to work it out with him. But if you’re not happy I think it’s worth taking the risk of leaving! You deserve to be happy!

Ikr! I’ll have guys be like “oh yeah you’re right, you’re not gross or less valuable but it is a deal breaker” I don’t really blame them (because I am still coming to terms with it being “not a big deal”)

It's very possible he or you were mostly a carrier. Neither one of you have to have sores all you have to do is shed.
