hi viralfrog,

i try 3000mg for 1day... not a problem...

i think if u really want to stop herpes.. u need to x10 the amount 10,000mg/day to have a chance of beating this virus...  i will slowly increase my daily intake stage by stage until i do that... if it kills me so be it.. but its highly unlikely to happen.

i will start to record down the dosage and side effect once i receive my order of vitamin C.

or you can start first and update me.. :) good luck.. i think we might have a good chance to beat it.

Ok no lie. Someone on this forum private messaged me back in March suggesting I try something called BHT!!!

https://aging-matters.com/without-cure-horizon-herpes-sufferers-missing-bht-butylated-hydroxytoluene/

i decided to try it and it has literally been a LIFE SAVER ! I was so fuxking depressed by the constant reoccurring outbreaks I was having and the severity of them. Since I’ve started taking BHT I get no outbreaks !!! UNLESS I forget to take the BHT then I’ll have a mild outbreak .. which goes away super quickly if I take more BHT. Also, for the mild outbreaks I broke up a capsule and mixed the BHT powder into coconut oil and applied it topically as well!!! It literally makes it go away almost instantly! I have so much less stress In my life now if I just remember to take these capsules .. one in the morning & one at night !!

i buy them from here >>>

https://www.swansonvitamins.com/life-enhancement-products-inc-bht-plus-100-caps

but can also be found else where!

I'm interested in it, But apparent BHT can hypertrophy the liver

I’m running 500mg per week of testosterone right now and 50mg of anadrol 6 days a week. I’ve noticed more irritation by my lips. I’m a server too so I hope I don’t get bad cold sores. If I do then fuck it I need the money.

Quest

In the book on BHT he referred to liver challenges over and above the recommended dose for up to a two hundred pound person. It really needs to be used correctly.

Damn.. still struggling with an non-stop outbreak. :( No help from BHT or SADBE experiments so far..

I really need to find out what is different right now and just a few years ago when I only had outbreaks once a month or so, and they would easily go away with 1g of acyclovir per day. My suspects are as follows:

  • Hormones, testosterone and E2 levels that I've been struggling with on HRT
  • Stress? In the past years I've moved from being a student with minimal worries to a director's position in a company. I love my job though and can't imagine it would cause this.
  • Breakup from longterm partner: not sure if this could have any effect, but I used to have sex many times a week unprotected with my gf (disclosed and she didn't mind). I'm happier after our break up but I might be stressing about new partners as right now I can rarely have sex as the OB never goes away. Not sure if condoms (latex) could somehow trigger outbreaks.

One weird thing is that in the beginning I only had OBs on my penis, which cleared very easily with antivirals. After a year or two, I started getting them only on my right buttock every time in the same place. It was quite a bit stronger, but still "removable" with antivirals and only appeared once a month or similar. Since the past few months, I've been having OBs on my penis nonstop.

Little update, I've upped the dose of Zinc to 100mg/days on rest days and 160mg/day for workout days. I also just came to Europe for holidays and I'm freezing in this weather (My body is used to tropical Thailand weather). The cold weather seems to strenghten my immunity somehow, as the OB is clearing off. I have experienced the same in the past - always on my trips to cold countries it seems to get better.

I wonder if hot weather could cause this? I do spend most of my time indoors with AC at 25 degrees celcius in Thailand though and always protect myself from the sun.

Hi all,

I caught HSV-2 over 4 years ago. It was pretty typical in the beginning, with a major outbreak first and further ones that followed. However, I was able to keep them under control with Acyclovir 400mg/day suppressive therapy and 1000mg a day during outbreaks.

In the past year or so, it has been getting worse and worse. The outbreaks started on my penis but later I started getting them on my buttocks too. In the last few months, they have been present only on my penis but NON-STOP. As an outbreak clears an new one will start within a few days. I can feel swollen lymph nodes on my groin and I'm constantly lethargic with a fewer-like feeling. I have had a non-stop outbreak for the last 2 months!

Lifestyle: Since 16 years old I eat very healthy (high protein, complex carbs, vegetables), excercise 4 times a week (fitness/bodybuilding) and sleep 8-9 hours per week. I don't drink alcohol, but do drink coffee daily. Apart of HSV-2 and being on HRT I am very healthy.

Current daily drug / supplement stack to combat the virus:

  • Acyclovir 1200mg / 3200mg during outbreaks
  • L-Lysine 2000mg / 4000mg during outbreaks
  • Zinc 50mg
  • Vitamin C 1000mg
  • Multivitamin

Others I have tried without success: Valacyclovir 1000mg/d, CBD oil

Other unrelated drugs and supplements I take that could have effects (since a long time):

  • Testosterone injections (I'm on HRT, due to testicular cancer I had at 18 years old)
  • Arimidex (control Estradiol levels)
  • Finasteride 0.5mg (reduce hairloss)
  • Fish oil
  • Whey protein
  • L-glutamine
  • 5-HTP (mood/sleep boost)

I have recently started researching the possible effects of the testosterone replacement therapy and the effects of hormonal balance on HSV-2 outbreaks. I found research indicating that increased Estradiol/Progesterone levels can trigger outbreaks (can share if anyone is interested). I got labs done and found the levels were elevated, so I increased my Arimidex dosage without success.

I have not yet tried the following supplements: Coconut oil, Probiotics, Vitamin B-12, MonoLaurin.

Any advice what to do next :(? I'm feeling terrible for 90% of my life at the moment. When I visit a doctor / hospital they just prescribe me Acyclovir at a lower dosage I'm already taking.

You have complex health issues. You need professional help. I have links on my page that might be helpful for further research. I would seek the help of a holistic MD. I'm assuming if you had cancer and are on hormones you may have lots some bits. When this happens you need medical/and practitioner help.

I am not a professional so in no way do I gain from this.

I have been at an expensive, reputable private hospital where I saw an infectious disesase specialist recently. Various blood tests done etc. and was told to "just live with it" after all tests came back as normal. I will be consulting the hormone specialist doctor about this, but I can only see him once a year as he lives in my home country 7500km away.

Thanks for the feedback. It would be very hard for me as I've been drinking coffee since 8 years daily and I'm somewhat of a coffee enthusiast. Also I didn't suffer from such symptoms in the past despite drinking lots of coffee. I recall I once tried a week without coffee and it didn't improve my symptoms.

I would get an integrative doctor who understands your supplements and can work with your medications etc.  I sent you links. I'd be looking around. I have loads of links on my profile. Don't be afraid to have two doctors. If you can afford I think expensive alternative doctors are preferable. One should always do their own due diligence or research of course.

Just to add, hot weather definitely wasn't the cause for my outbreaks.. still getting them as usual, just had a day or two in between without any symptoms :/

maybe an Adrenal problem?

when I drink too much coffee, it also triggers something -  then combined with too hard of a workout, disaster. I had back to back OBs....I had adrenal problems from a  combination of  a medication and working out too much and consuming too much  coffee and other caffeine products.

High Coffee consumption can throw off hormones which affects thyroid and adrenals, (thyroid /adrenals also affect hormones)

I had to cut the coffee for a while. then I can add it back, but not drink as much as before.

Check adrenal cortex test. ACTH test??

But I understand your coffee situation completely. It is one of my last pleasures in life. it makes me so happy, its hard to quit it completely. Just take a little vacation from  it and see if you feel better.

I thinkyou also need to work out a little less, maybe cut a day. Try a week off? ( hard , I know)

For me, it was an adrenal issue...maybe your is too?

Thanks for your advice. Need to do some research about that adrenal stuff.. my thyroids were fine when I last checked.

I've already almost stopped working out recently because of the terrible lethargy and as an attempt to end this continuous outbreak. It's definitely not only the working out causing it.

Happy New Year everyone.. Currently having a terrible outbreak after an unusually crazy New Year's bender. Well thb, my outbreak never stopped but right now it's blisters all over the place.. just trying to sleep as much as possible and of course all possible supplements on the go.

Note that the theory that arginine causes outbreaks has been debunked long ago. There is no established link between things like coffee and outbreaks.

However the stress associated with people desiring more coffee is a whole different matter!

The lethargy sounds suspicious of adrenal fatigue.

And when I had adrenal problems, I was exhausted all the time, and drinking too much coffee, it was almost like I need to drink more and more to do anything.

How are your zinc levels? There is a blood test to check that...

take large sums of vit C

Get well soon!

@viralfrog I took my "atypical" hsv2  in your region (SE Asia)..., don't have major issues like yours besides some itch and some very tiny spots on glans. I think would be very interesting for visitors of this forum if you could post a pic or two of your manifestations on genitals or buttcock. If you feel safe and want do it of course! Take care, hope things get better.

I take a Zinc supplement 50mg/day and 100-150mg/day when I'm feeling sick / workout days. I also take Vitamin C 2 x 1000mg/day and more when feeling ill.

Yes sure I can post some photos (if anyone really wants to see that stuff :D). I'll do that later as right now I only have minor redness, just recovering from a mild flu. I'll post some pics when it flares up again, which surely won't take long.

Actually, my symptoms are typically some very tiny spots on the glans, just like you described. The lesions themselves don't bother me (except for the worry of transmission to partners), but my main issue is the constant flu-like feeling and swollen lymph node in the groin.

It's getting pretty terrible now, I don't ever remember the last time I was feeling normal. I'm so sick of this constant flu-like feeling that makes me depressed and very unproductive. I have so many ideas and ambitions for life but I end up just doing the bare minimum due to constantly feeling like shit.

A week ago I tried stopping my anti-estrogen medication if that could have been the cause (it states "infection" in the listed, common side effects). Had my hopes up for a day or two but just got another outbreak this week that makes me want to sleep in bed all day. On top of this, now my breasts hurt because of increased E2 levels.

I guess I still have some hopes with new research drugs such as Crispr and Amenalief. I would order Amenalief from Japan immediately, but it costs more than my monthly rent.. I might have to start a business on top of my full time job so I can afford it. Better option than self-pity but extra stress will surely not help with the HSV2 ;)

I was having BO's all the time too.  I never figured out why they escalated, and think its impossible to know most of the time.  I take a lot of vitamin C.  Was already taking 1000 mg per day, went to 3000, then 5000 etc.  I think i was at about 8000 when the BO's stopped.  I went to 12.  Have not had a BO since 1/5.  That may not be impressive to others, but thats huge for me.  I so needed a break.  I started Amenalief because i have an upcoming event where i do not want to be sick and fear i will be too distracted to keep up with the vitamin C doses all day every day.  But when this event is over and the Amenalief is gone, i will just go back to vitamin C.  While Im on Amenalief, im still taking 9 g vitamin C/day.  I will go back up to 12 when I go off Amenalief. The symptoms of depression and fatigue that come along with every BO were the worst of it for me too.  If u decide to take vitamin C, increase dosage slowly and spread doses out over the day.  U will reach a point where u will get gas.  If that happens, take a little less.  I buy vitamin C in a tub and for some doses put it in drinks.  Other doses 1g capsules.  I have also changed my diet.  Was eating healthy, but now i juice and restrict all likely trigger foods (i do drink coffee).  However, i think dietary changes help more slowly, so im sure its the vitamin C that made the difference.

hello all, update... so the white ulcer inside started around january 4... and today it is still there... no burning while i pee, just a constant mild irritation feel, no other symptoms i went back to get retested 2/12 so 2.5 months after exposure... including HSV, HIV, gon, chlam, everything came back negative... the doctor thinks it's some form of chlamydia, he gave my doxy for 10 days is it too soon to tell if i have HSV? is it possible to have an ulcer inside the urethra and be fungal or bacterial?
    • MikeHerp
Probably not many.  I'm going to change my twitter symbol to the copper ribbon at least.

okay! I guess I will just start at the basic dosage of vitamin C and go up every week little ? I take 1500 mg of super lysine like the bottle says and it still gives me gas and diarrhea. hoping it will pass if not I'll drop down to 2 a day! I really appreciate the advice! i know we would all.do ANYTNING to not have OB  at the moment idc about stigmas od boyfriends or dating or sex....I just care about FEELING healthy in my own skin. this is my one and only life
    • Lulupazoola
That sounds like a good place to begin.  The lysine worked really well for me for about a year and a half.  Then things got steadily worse for me and nothing worked until vitamin C.  My immune system is not that great even tho i take care of myself, so u may have good luck if u have a decent one.  With the vitamin c, u must 1) take it at intervals throughout the day, not all at once 2) dont increase the amount u r taking too fast 3) it will give u gas at higher doses and even diarrhea if u go crazy with it. These r signs to lower your dose!  If u can just control your OB's with vitamin c and lysine or anything else, maybe a cure will finally become available.
