Anyone have to have their blood sample "retested"?

So I went to get an HSV IGG test, and they told me less than a week. Okay. A week passed, I called the lab, they told me they meant 10 business days (two weeks). Okay. I called again and they said the real estimate I should have got was 13 business days. Okay. Today was day 13, I called, and was told that it needed to be "retested" and would be done by the end of next week (19 business days). Has anyone else been jerked around like this before? And has anyone had a test retested? I'm guessing that, since it was done at 9 weeks after exposure, it's like a borderline negative or borderline positive. I think I probably have it.

They’re just playing for time, stuffing around. I wouldn’t read anything into it whatsoever apart from incompetence. More likely the work experience guy ruined a batch of tests.

At 9 weeks, most infected people record a damn strong positive. Borderline would hence mean negative anyway.

Apparently my doctor agrees with your assessment. He thinks that this private lab does batch testing, and doesn't have enough samples to make testing a batch profitable, so they are stalling for time. Dear god, that is infuriating.

Finally got the results back. Negative for HSV-2 and "indeterminate" for HSV-1. That was at 8 weeks. I got tested again at 12 weeks, but I'm still waiting on the results for that.

I'm 99% confident that these are caused by Herpes. This is what they looked like when I first caught the virus, and in the same spots as well, although now much milder and smaller in size.  I have tested positive via swab when I first got the virus, and two times via blood test. However, since several people here are doubting my symptoms are caused by HSV, I might do another swab just to be sure. It's still good to rule anything else out beforehand.

And btw  @ayekayelle I’m sorry you’re considering divorce. I hope you are able to work it out with him. But if you’re not happy I think it’s worth taking the risk of leaving! You deserve to be happy!

Ikr! I’ll have guys be like “oh yeah you’re right, you’re not gross or less valuable but it is a deal breaker” I don’t really blame them (because I am still coming to terms with it being “not a big deal”)

It's very possible he or you were mostly a carrier. Neither one of you have to have sores all you have to do is shed.
