Itching all over 4 yes. No signs of blisters

Hi, I'm getting so stressed with thinking I might have HSV2 but no obvious symptoms.  I had a partner that had it 6yrs ago.  Drs say I don't have it, gynecologist and dermatologist says I don't have it.  I'm going crazy thinking I might infect new partners.

I itch more than normal everywhere, my face tingles like I have bugs crawling on me, my facial skin is terrible since this relationship, I get hot, burn up and look like quite red in the face sometimes, my thighs itch where I shave.  I get shaving rash I never used too, I have thick white discharge occasionally that comes and goes with no treatment.  My dermatologist thinks I could have nerve damage and I use amitriptyline which helps a.bit, taken for 6 months or so but my scalp still itches like mad some days.

I've had a partner for a year who got nothing from me over a year a go now. I've had a partner that suffers with coldsores anyway and got one in the week I say him after oral sex, I felt like I made this come on

My current partner gets ulcers when he gives me oral so we now avoid. When we slept together in the first month he became quite swollen and dry on the top of his penis. He wasn't worried and had nothing again since down there.  His head is now itching more tho he has said he's had itchy scalp before as he has psoriasis. His facial skin is becoming dry too.

Do you think I could have hsv or not. Ive read you can carry it, tho my drs etc all say I don't have it. It's effecting how I think constantly but drs keep telling me the same it's not herpes and I cannot pass anything on I don't have. My skin is also dry and itchy but it's continuous it doesn't come and go only gets less irritation.

Anyone have these Crawling itchy symptoms and no blister's and have been diagnosed with hsv?  Could the gynaecologist, dermatologist and Dr get it wrong?

Hey @Curious M and welcome to the website.

Could I suggest you obtain an IgG test privately, type specific for HSV-1 and HSV-2.

This will really sort it out for you.

Note that you cannot induce an outbreak in an infected person, only their body can do that.

Hey @WilsonAus, thank you for your reply. I'll look to see how I can do this.

Have you from experience on here heard of similar itching problems?  It's continuous, doesn't stop.  Could it be an effect on the nervous system from Herpes infection?  I don't have flare ups or any obvs signs of HSV just this constant itch, is it a common complication of HSV do you know ?

Thanks for time in replying

Based on all you describe, it is best to conclude that you do not have herpes genitally. All over itching has many causes and is hardly ever if at all related to herpes.

Hi. I know it's been a while since you have responded on here but did you ever get tested? What was the result?

To all the people estimating 2023 for human trials of what Dr Jerome is working on, we really have to see.  Depending on what is happening right now about that 90% delivery to the SCG and the 50% to TG.  As soon as it is considered an effective cure in mice it will move to a greater animal.  The time to determine results of the mice testing was at most around 45~ days per test grouping. It may be longer for greater animals but I doubt it would be much longer.  If the same level of efficacy is found in the greater animals it may progress to clinic much faster. It may even be granted access to certain people with rare cases of lethal herpes, anything is possible.

Same... on everything. I hated when i saw that the CDC thought It wouldn’t change people’s behavior, therefore, no testing. Screw that. When I was tested before the last relationship I was in, they didn’t even tell me what was Not being tested for. I just assumed all the common or dangerous ones.  However, my ex used it to her advantage and actually used it as a weapon so we would be “stuck together” she would often say happily, and now she’s even denying she has it (accused me) and she wont get tested, leading me to believe this is a strategy of hers - saying she got tested, but keeping the HSV off the books. Psycho  Will be taking her to court for sexual assault soon as she aggressively pursued sex, forcing herself on me as she stripped, and resulting in a disgusting situation of me not interested and her looking back on it often saying, “ive never cum so much.”  I stopped dating for years trying to get life together, and this fuckingNot testing bullshit is beyond stupid considering all of the serious health complications from HSV1 and 2.

Thanks @WilsoInAus   Day +43: Another inspection from the doctor and he is not seeing anything; also a dermatologist in the clinic takes a look. Doctor also is skeptical that cut on left butt check is anything to be concerned about. In the evening itchiness appears but its not too bad- i have noticed that perhaps the area is tender from the previous pain so any sort of touching sets off itchnyess. Speak with Doc and plan is to do a blood test around the 10 week mark. Im also down to 1g/day for Val and will be complete on Sunday. Day +44: itchyness continues but it comes and goes.

Looks like the fundraiser just passed the $25k mark. At some point this money starts to become really meaningful (e.g., $50k may pay for one additional person to work in the lab etc). Also its a signal from the community that there is alot of interest in a cure via gene therapy. http://engage.fredhutch.org/site/TR?px=1709211&fr_id=1574&pg=personal
