Transmission rates

Can someone who is more knowledgeable than me explain to me transmission rates from men with type 2 Herpes to women? I am only a carrier I do not have outbreaks but realize I still shed the virus. I have heard it’s something like 4 percent in any given year with protection ie a condom?

I would start your 4% number with a condom may be close.  With anti-virals it can cut it to about 2%.  

You may be even lower as those without outbreaks tend to be in the lower average of shedding and therefore likey risk to transmit.

Based on the sheet below, it would be around 10% per year without condoms with no active outbreaks. With condoms, 5.2% and condoms and antiviral therapy combined around 1.5-2.5%  https://herpesopportunity.com/downloads/herpes-opportunity-disclosure-handout.pdf

What is the transmission rate during an outbreak without a condom?

During an actual outbreak it would be expected to be much higher transmission rate.  Not guaranteed but a significant risk.  
 

note the transmission rates quoted above (10% is after one year of sex avoiding sex during outbreaks).
