Has anyone tried this?

Hi everyone I am new here as I have been recently diagnosed with hsv-2 through blood samples. I am heart broken and upset. I have been looking for any weird way to cure this as I feel like I can never be intimate or date again and the guy who gave it to me disappeared. I heard of the herpes blitz protocol it’s a shake or something like that has anyone tried it and it helped or has anyone tried it and realized it’s a scam. I will do anything to get rid of genital herpes.

@C2018for now there is nothing you can do to get rid of genital herpes.

It sounds like your blood test results were a complete surprise!? What blood test did you have that suggested you are positive for herpes? Why did you test? Have you had unexplained lesions genitally?

@WilsoInAus I had random ulcers type sores so I went in for an exam and my doctor tested for all stds with cultures as well as blood tests for hiv and herpes due to me having a very low immune system. I don’t recall the name she said for the blood test as as soon as she said positive for hsv-2 I lost it. I do follow up with an infectious disease doctor. I had the sores for maybe a week and took valtrex and it all went away. I’m hoping someone the blood work is wrong I am in shock.

OK so when you say random ulcers, where were they on your body and did you have these ulcers cultured (meaning a swab taken with a cotton tip or similar).

Were these the first ulcers of this nature you have had? What sexual activity did you have in the week before they appeared?

The blood test is critical, there are two main types IgM and IgG. You need to know which test it was and the number. Best way is to get a full printout from your doctor so you have it all to hand.

Sorry for questions, the answers will help zero in of some conversation points with your doctor.

@WilsoInAus the ulcers I think I would call them they more seemed like small cuts never had pus or anything  were in my vaginal area. My doctor not a gynecologist did a full exam with cultures but I’m not sure if she cultured for that or not. The way she explained the blood work she said one test shows if I’ve had a recent or current infection at the time of the blood draw and that showed positive but the other one didn’t show positive which means I haven’t had it long I have to get my paperwork from her. About 9 before I saw her I had sexual intercourse with a new partner and I first noticed some pain about 4-5 days after sex with him but didn’t really notice the marks until 6 days after.

Sounds like you had an igm and an Igg.  In theory igm is trying to detect the initial crude antibodies your body forms.  As your igm reports back to your body it creates a more specialized antibody Igg to fight the virus.  The problem is because igm is a broader antibody it can bind with a broader range of proteins in the body.  Since there are so many proteins with similar enough profiles igm for an adult can pick up extraneous proteins and signature positive.

That doesn't mean you are negative.  Your doctor should test you again with Igg only in about 4-8 weeks (ideally 12 weeks from the point you think you were infected) to determine the results.  Or if you get a recurrence have that swabbed.

An Igg or a swab are what should be trusted.  Igm by itself I would not trust.

You will need to remain curious on this one. It is clear the IgM has come back positive, but they often do for reasons unrelated to herpes. Your IgG is negative. All up this would mean a recent infection as has been suggested.

The fact that you had cuts and not lesions would be unusual in terms of an initial outbreak, hence the need to not draw conclusions just yet.

As mentioned, a 12 week blood test is now required to confirm a herpes infection (provided your swabs are negative, I cannot see why a doctor would not test for herpes having taken a genital swab).

Something that would provide further information is to ask your new partner to take the IgG blood test, type specific HSV-1 and HSV-2 and see what actually is or isn't a risk here.

@Scooby2112 I’ve read that people at low risk for hsv-2 such as people who have had shingles or hsv-1 can give the igm a false positive and I’ve had shingles. My doctor told me she didn’t think the herpes was std related when she looked at it during my exam but due to me having a low immune system from my auto immune disease so I was confused how you can pick up Genital herpes. I’m hoping the igm might be a false positive due to me having shingles in the past.

I have not heard of anyone being at low risk for hsv2.

I would say that igm can be positive by cross reacting with other viruses or proteins.

However if you have hsv2 then it most certainly is sexually transmitted.  Hsv1 and shingles are different viruses and have no bearing on whether you have hsv2 or not.  Wait till you can get an Igg test to confirm.

Or new sores appear then you can get a swab.

Hey @C2018 thanks for the further information.

Note that IgM is not a diagnosis. A positive can be due to a range of rogue proteins that could be related to any virus, or not! It does seem that anyone regardless of what they have or haven't had can test positive falsely on an IgM. It is a very poor test with no diagnostic value whatsoever.

Note that auto immune issues are more than likely an over-reactive immune system and not a low immune system at all.

Either way, there is not a diagnosis of herpes here just yet.

Hi "firstimeuser".... let's see what "WilsoinAus" thinks but, for what's it worth, I don't see anything in your picture (or description) that looks like herpes..... it actually looks more like a scrape or follicle issue.... maybe even a bug bite.  Also, by the way, the odds of having HSV2 with an outbreak on your testicles is very low.... that is not a typical spot for an HSV2 outbreak.    Have your doctor take a look and if you want some peace of mind, get an IgG antibody test for HSV2 in about 12 weeks (takes that long for antibodies to develop).... but, again, I don't think you have anything to worry about here.... just not seeing anything herpes-related here.    take care....best of luck.

Hi Marlena..... since you stated you've had "herpes on the lips" then you likely have oral HSV1, which the majority of adults worldwide have... the fact your results for HSV1/2 are positive (at least I believe that's what your results show - I don't speak Polish but, I think I'm seeing your results are positive based on the attachment you included) may simply be reading the fact that you have HSV1.... the question is whether you've contracted HSV2 in your genital area. Your description of symptoms could possibly be related to HSV but, it's difficult to verify with certainty based on your description. You may also have contracted a different type of sexually transmitted infection (STI) or a simple fungal infection.   Your doctor does not believe what he/she is seeing is HSV but, unless your doctor has experience with HSV, they could easily misdiagnose your condition.  You need full STI testing. Do you have the option to travel to a larger city in Poland where you could get an appointment to be seen by a doctor with more experience with STIs?  You really need to have an experienced doctor take a look and run tests to check specifically for HSV2 as well as other STIs.  If they can rule out HSV2 or other STIs then hopefully they can then determine what is causing the redness, itching, and swollen condition.... again, it may not be HSV2 but, you need proper testing to verify.  Have you talked to your boyfriend about all this?  Has he had any symptoms on his genitals that are suspect?  Has he taken any tests to check for STIs?   I hope you can get more definitive testing so you know what you are dealing with and how best to treat it.  If you have any other questions/concerns, please come back and let us know.... I hope this helps a little.... best of luck.... take care.

Hey Jeremy.... I know only too well that emotional pain you are feeling.... I really do.... and many of us on this site also know that pain.  It's not so much the physical side of having HSV that hurts, it's the stigma and risk of rejection that stings like hell!  You have to do what you think is right as it relates to when you disclose your HSV status when getting to know someone romantically.... I just think it's best to do it relatively early, and certainly before any sexual activity.   Have you looked into dating sites that cater to those with HSV?  I know others have had some luck with meeting partners on these sites.... you don't have to worry about the "disclosure" talk nor would you obviously have to worry about passing along a virus the other person already has.... take a few minutes and search around and see if it's an option you like. By the way, by taking your daily antiviral med and using a condom, your risk of passing along the virus is down around 1.9%.... pretty good odds that if you stick to your regimen you are very unlikely to transmit the virus....keep that in mind when you meet your next girlfriend and need to have "the talk."  That statistic might help calm any concerns about contracting the virus from you. I hope you don't give up.... as tough as it can be to find the right partner, it's still worth trying.... try to stay optimistic and look into some alternate options and see what happens.... all the best.... take care.

@WilsoInAuswould appreciate your thoughts as have seen you comment quite a bit before!

Good morning. My name is Marlena and I come from Poland. Sorry, my English is average. For two years I have been in a relationship with a man, for a year and a half I have been struggling with intimate problems. On average, my intimate condition is getting worse every month. Then I feel itching, redness, swelling around the entrance to the vagina, small blisters (not always). Most often it is only red and swollen, itches and then disappears. This state lasts 3-4 days. I come from a small town, doctors don't know what it is. They say it's 'skin irritation'. They prescribe moisturizing creams with lactic acid, probiotics. It doesn't help. I did a blood test for HSV on my own, which is very expensive in Poland, but it does not separate HSV1 from HSV2. The doctor, when he shows these results, says that it's not herpes, but irritation. I would like to add that in the past I suffered from herpes on the lips, then it was a 'scab'. There has never been a scab in an intimate area. Sometimes there are blisters that last 1-2 days, but not always. So what do high blood test results mean? I would like to add that in Poland people do not talk about the HSV virus. It's just that sometimes someone has it on their lips and that's it. Results translation: IgM HSV 1/2: questionable IgG HSV 1/2: result above the measuring range https://files.fm/f/4cpu7uee4
