New here but not too herpes

Recommended Posts

I found out about it in March this year. It tore me apart. Sometimes I find joy in my life, but then it’s snatched away when I remind myself about it. I haven’t had a outbreak yet so that’s good seeing how in the beginning it was hell for me. Anyways I figured I’d try to talk to someone, because holding it in has done more hurt than help.

Hey @MoonShine04 you are in great company, there’s over 5 billion of us with herpes!

If you’ve never had an outbreak, you may never get one!

But start at the beginnning, how were you diagnosed and what types?

I sure hope so I can’t take another one. Well my bf at the time went down on me and I realized something was wrong a couple of days after. I wanted it to be something cureable so bad I was in denial. I went to the doctors and she told me I had gHSV 1. I cried like a baby driving home. But I sucked it up and tried to not to think about it .

They never told me anything about the swab or blood work. I had to keep calling and someone just said I had gHSV1.

It might be useful to obtain a printout of the test results for confirmation.

A positive swab would confirm genital, a positive blood test would be ambiguous as to location and timing of infection.

So should I just get tested again ?

No need just yet, the results of your previous testing may tell you all you need to know.

When should I? Or is it not  necessary.  Sorry I’m asking so much.

Either call or visit your doctor and ask them to call the results up in their screen and print them for you.

You are after your swab result and your IgG blood test results.

If you’d like advice from the forum, just type out what is written.

For example a blood test might say:

IgG HSV-1 Ab 3.6 H

and a swab test might say:

HSV isolated.

I'm 99% confident that these are caused by Herpes. This is what they looked like when I first caught the virus, and in the same spots as well, although now much milder and smaller in size.  I have tested positive via swab when I first got the virus, and two times via blood test. However, since several people here are doubting my symptoms are caused by HSV, I might do another swab just to be sure. It's still good to rule anything else out beforehand.

And btw  @ayekayelle I’m sorry you’re considering divorce. I hope you are able to work it out with him. But if you’re not happy I think it’s worth taking the risk of leaving! You deserve to be happy!

Ikr! I’ll have guys be like “oh yeah you’re right, you’re not gross or less valuable but it is a deal breaker” I don’t really blame them (because I am still coming to terms with it being “not a big deal”)

It's very possible he or you were mostly a carrier. Neither one of you have to have sores all you have to do is shed.
