As far as herpes there isnt much to think. You cant compare this to ridding the body of hsv.

I'm closely following CRISPR developments.  These first trials are not related to HSV.  But things like safety, off target edits, and overall efficacy of CRISPR will be important to follow.  

If they find that CRISPR hits serious obstacles in these trials, we'll never even get to CRISPR on HSV, so I'm definitely hopeful that these trials will go smoothly and that CRISPR will be a breakthrough.

Hey @MikeHerp thank you! If you hear anything interesting, keep us updated. I don’t really know where to look to find out these things about crispr. But I have hope for it.
