HSV2 and foods

I changed my diet to healthy eating and been looking at food list to avoid.
I know a lot of it but been checking again on the net for food list.
It seems that a lot go against each other and find a few website saying the opposite to each other!

Does anyone here know a good website that tells you what you can eat and foods to avoid?
I was eating melons everyday and just found out they are a big no, no.

Thanks for any help at all peeps.....

Following this topic! The only sites I've come across have said to eat to support your immune system, so avoid things that are hard on it like sugars and alcohol. I'd love to hear more from anyone who can add info. I just got diagnosed last week, and the Valtrex gave me bad side effects, so I'm looking into taking care of this from all of the natural angles, which definitely includes food.

I'd also like to hear the opposite: what are the GOOD foods that we should be increasing in our diets?

Are you referring to the lysin/arginine balance talking about melon? I actually think there is NO study at the moment that shows a positive effect on herpes with a high lysine diet... :dunno:

I think you should eat healthy and balanced. I personally like to eat according to the traditional chinese medicine (cooked meals, warm breakfast, hardly sugar, hardly bread,...) - but I think the best thing is to find out what is good for you! :-)

I guess just keep ur immune system always boosted..vitamin c garlic..I'm really thinking Cowpoke knows what he is talking about..herps don't like a alkaline diet also..I've got some apricot seeds and a big bag if dried apricots coming..stay away from sugar and drugs lol tilt ur diet to lysine and a alkaline diet..I'm also gonna start eating garlic every day and putting sliced lemons in my icecube tray..I've had this nasty virus now over a month still no outbreaks..drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day..I guess I heard pomegranate extract is a natural antiviral also..guess we can only hope for the best and wait it out ..3 to 5 years we might have a functional cure but try not to beat urself up over this..I've been depressed ever since I found out I got herps ..let's fight this nasty battle and keep our inmune systems super strong and pray hope to God for a cure..

Hi Roja

Yes I am referring to the lysine/arginine diet.
I have tried just about everything and nothing works.
But.... I have been taking high doses of vitamin c powder and my OB cleared within days!
I didn't have an OB again until I stopped taking it for a couple of days.
I like the idea of the Chinese medicine you wrote about.
The only thing that has worked for me is the vitamin c.
Had this for years and had OB's non stop which has got me very down.

Thanks

Hey aunty,

that is great to hear!! :-)

Could you give me a little bit more information about the vitamin c powder? I would like to give it a try! (you can also write me a message if you like).

Thanks!
