I am a journalist writing a story about herpes screening and testing. As many of you know, it can be very challenging to get a straight answer when it comes to an HSV1 or HSV2 diagnosis. Unfortunately, however, the pros and cons of herpes tests are far from common knowledge — an issue I will be addressing in my piece. I've found that stories sink in best when I can include some first person perspective, and was hoping that some of you would be willing to share your testing experiences with me. I am particularly interested to speak with anyone who has had a false positive test or any asymptomatic individuals who have dealt with excessive challenges/anxiety in pursuit of an accurate diagnosis. We can protect your identity, as I know this may be a challenging topic to discuss publicly. If you'd be willing to chat with me about what you've gone through, please shoot me an email at Lindzi.Wessel@statnews.com.
Thanks so much!
