First Multipurpose Gel Designed to Prevent HIV, HSV, and HPV
Simultaneously in Women and Men Advances in Clinical Trials

PC-1005
used either vaginally or rectally
-> me: i have condom for that, but i guess i can smear it all over intimate area
also

1. MIV-150, a highly potent antiretroviral drug that is effective against HIV;
2. Zinc acetate, an antiviral compound that protects against HIV and HSV; and
3. Carrageenan, a seaweed-derived compound that is among the most potent
anti-HPV agents identified to date.

-> me: ok, Carragen i already know about and there is a german sex lubricant
with it (with an 'helps hinder hpv' sticker on it)

In preclinical studies, PC-1005 performed as well as, or in many cases better
than, tenofovir (TFV) 1% gel.

Tenofovir Gel May Prevent Herpes Simplex Virus in Women
11 2014

Daily application of a 1% tenofovir gel formulation—under investigation as a
new form of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis—appears to reduce women’s risk
of acquiring herpes simplex virus type-2 (HSV-2).

In the study, 1,004 women across Uganda, South Africa, and Zimbabwe were
instructed to apply the vaginal gel containing tenofovir (1%) on a daily basis to
prevent HIV. Tenofovir is one component of the combination pill Truvada, used
in HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

This is not the first evidence that a vaginal tenofovir gel can prevent HSV-2
infection. The landmark CAPRISA 004 study, which paved the way for HIV
prevention microbicide research and development, found that vaginal
application of a tenofovir gel before and after sex reduced risk of HSV-2
infection by 51%.

So - i guess this is already available, i mean the ingredients are written right there - Zinc Acetate!

So now i just have to find this and put it on in the intimate area (next to the condom) - and i am save from transmitting herpes / or save from getting it - either way!

Is common zinc-paste = zinc acetate?

Other possible Method: Just put on wound spray before and after

Zinc paste is not Zinc acetat. It's something more special.

"ZINC acetate is a salt produced by the reaction of zinc oxide with acetic acid"

Griffithsin and Carrageenan Combination To Target Herpes Simplex Virus 2 and Human Papillomavirus

We determined the antiviral activity of GRFT against HSV-2 to be a 50% effective concentration (EC50) of 230 nM and provide the first evidence that GRFT has moderate anti-HPV activity (EC50 = 0.429 to 1.39 μM). GRFT blocks the entry of HSV-2 and HPV into target cells but not the adsorption of HSV-2 and HPV onto target cells. The results of the SPR, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistry analyses of HSV-2 combined suggest that GRFT may block viral entry by binding to HSV-2 glycoprotein D. Cell-based assays suggest anti-HPV activity through α6 integrin internalization. The GRFT-CG combination product but not GRFT or CG alone reduced HSV-2 vaginal infection in mice when given an hour before challenge (P = 0.0352).

----

"Carrageenan is probably the most potent known anti-human papillomavirus (anti-HPV) agent described in preclinical studies
The antiviral activity of CG against HSV-2 has also been previously documented (18,–20), and we have shown that CG in combination with zinc acetate results in synergistic antiviral activity against HSV-2."

Studies about Carrageen:
Stuff out of Algea

- "They found that among the women who used the gel as prescribed, there were fewer women infected with HPV in the carrageenan group than in the placebo group. This suggests that carrageenan gel may possibly protect women against certain types of HPV."
https://aidsinfo.nih.gov/drugs/400/carr ... /0/patient

- "After adjusting for risk factors, these compliant Carraguard users were 0.62 as likely to be classified HR-HPV positive (95% CI 0.41-0.94) as compliant placebo users."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22155903

- "Carrageenan is probably the most potent known anti-human papillomavirus (anti-HPV) agent described in preclinical studies
The antiviral activity of CG against HSV-2 has also been previously documented (18,–20), and we have shown that CG in combination with zinc acetate results in synergistic antiviral activity against HSV-2."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4649164/

- "At a dose of virus that infected all of the control mice, 1% solutions of carrageenans protected 85% of the inoculated mice. Other sulfated polysaccharides were less effective or showed no efficacy in preventing HSV-2 infection. These findings suggest that a vaginal formulation of carrageenan may be effective in blocking sexual transmission of HSV-2 in women."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC170551/

- “"Carrageenan-based formulations were significantly more effective than currently marketed spermicides containing the same amount of N-9. Efficacy was demonstrated over a wide pH range. The carrageenan-based formulations could be autoclaved without losing antiviral activity and remained active in the vagina for several hours.
We conclude that carrageenan-based N-9 formulations are likely to provide a more significant degree of protection against HSV-2 and other enveloped viruses than current OTC spermicides while providing comparable spermicidal activity."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9800263

- “The lambda-carrageenan 1T1, the kappa/iota-carrageenan 1C1 and the mu/nu-type 1C3, isolated from the red seaweed Gigartina skottsbergii, proved to be potent and selective inhibitors of herpes simplex virus (HSV) types 1 and 2.
Time of addition and attachment studies suggested that the main target for antiviral action of the three carrageenans was virus adsorption, whereas no effect on virus internalization, or early or late protein synthesis was detected. However, the lambda-carrageenan 1T1 was still significantly inhibitory when added any time after adsorption. The pretreatment of virions with the carrageenans showed that 1C1 and 1C3 lacked direct inactivating effect at concentrations near the antiviral IC50 but 1T1 exerted virucidal action. The cyclization of 1T1 to afford the derivative 1T1T1 maintained the antiviral activity but eliminated the virucidal properties. Thus, the structure of 1T1 seems to be responsible for its differential behavior from 1C1 and 1C3, probably allowing a more stable binding to HSV, leading to virion inactivation. In contrast, 1C1 and 1C3 fail to bind with high affinity to virus alone, but are able to interfere with the interaction between HSV particles and the cell."

Griffithsin:
- “The GRFT-CG combination product but not GRFT or CG alone reduced HSV-2 vaginal infection in mice when given an hour before challenge (P = 0.0352). While GRFT significantly protected mice against vaginal HPV infection when dosed during and after HPV16 pseudovirus challenge (P < 0.026), greater CG-mediated protection was afforded by the GRFT-CG combination for up to 8 h (P < 0.0022). These findings support the development of the GRFT-CG combination as a broad-spectrum microbicide.”

-> unfortunately no Griffithsin to buy on Amazon
