hi i noticed on the area just below the "head" of my penis 2 bumps appeared. they have been there for approximately 4 days and do not hurt or tingle or itch at all and one of them looks like it has a little bit of white puss in it. i am losing sleep over this and i can't make it to a clinic right now to get it checked out. how long does it take if this is herpes to burst and turn into a sore? would it have already? thanks so much!

Hi,

It doesn't sound like herpes to me...

Sounds like ingrown hair or pimples, or something...

Herpes outbreak is more like... you get many tiny red bumps and they soon form one big blister. And usually... you get pain, or some other symptoms along with it.

I can't say I'm 100% sure, but... pretty much... it's not herpes.

But if it stays there and bother you..., I recommend you to go see a doctor when you can. Just to make sure what it is..

Best wishes..

Faith

thanks faith, i just want to know if it is herpes would it have already burst by now or at least hurt? i know for sure that these are filled with a tiny bit of puss on top like a small whitehead pimple or something. is there any for-sure way i can rule it out?

If you see puss, I'm pretty much sure, it's not herpes.

And it depends on the person, but ... you would have pain or some kind of uncomfortable feeling there at least, if it's herpes.

There is no other way to make sure than going to see a doctor and let him/her examine, and test if necessary...

Still... I don't think you should worry about herpes...

I don't want to add more worry to you but I also got 2 pimple like sores,no pain,no itch.after a few days it did scab, then got about 4 or 5 more never any pain but had trouble urinating.it turned out to be herpes.I'm still accepting it an pray I never see any more sores, which I haven't but it's only been hardly a month! You can hope & pray for the best but if you really want to know get a swab test while they can get some "juice" (puss, fluid) on the swab.I truely wish you the best!!

thanks

okay its day 7 of this and im just posting to comfort myself although after a lot of meticulous research i dont think it is. the bumps i have now look exactly like pimples with a defined center with a tiny bit of puss in it and i have no pain, itching, trouble urinating or anything of the like. they are extremely small and have shrunk since i have first seen them. does this pretty much rule it out? thank you in advance to faith and anyone else who has been reading and answering these posts

I’m going to force him to get tested ! Thanks for your help !

@EssenceL25 there really isn't a question mark around the source, it's your latest partner. The median time from infection to an outbreak of lesions upon initial infection is 4 days.  The only thing that isn't certain is the type I suggest.

I asked if it was hsv 1 or 2 and the doctor said it was Hsv2. I’m not sure i just asked him when he was tested last he said this year I said I think we should go test together and he agreed . I’m going to bring it up again cause I really need to know if he gave this to me I wasn’t sure since it was so close to my previous relationship.

@EssenceL25 then it is all beyond reasonable doubt that the current partner is the source. A 'perfect' fit in terms of timing, symptoms and swab. It may be though that the type is not technically known. Culture swabs are very often not typed and just assumed to be HSV-2 if taken from a genital location. If you received oral sex in the days leading into 7 March then it is 50/50 as to whether this is HSV-1 or HSV-2. You could contact your doctor and confirm if the swab was actually typed (which is a second test where fluorescent antibodies for HSV-1 and HSV-2 are added and see which one 'glows').  If that test wasn't done then you do not know type. If you have oral HSV-1 yourself (cold sores) then this will be HSV-2. Does your partner have oral HSV-1? It is somewhat strange for him not to rush and test - many people have a 'reaction' if they truly do not know their status and have concerns that you infected them etc. (not initially rational of course). This indicates he may know his status - or maybe he just isn't simply the sharpest tool in the shed!?

I had flu like symptoms and ulcers on my vagina . They did a culture and I tested positive for hsv2. I asked my partner to get tested he agreed but I’m not sure if he will cause he hasn’t said anything else about it.
