I see Wilso has chimed in, but I can't read his post since I have him blocked. I'm guessing he is saying I don't have herpes.

Therein lies the lesson of incorrect guessing. You don’t get better mind, body or soul on guesses.

It's good to be back.

I have had 2 or 3 negative dna swabs for my lip and one negative penis head swab. I just scraped the skin as much as I could on a random day.

I swabbed this in April. Swab had blood after popping. It does get prodrome. Dna test negative.

Just did another one in the exact same spot. I got a series of them on my lip line. I get them in the same spots all the time. Doctors still debate hsv or not and tell me it likely isn't.

Two days ago I had one just like the above, I swabbed it, popped it, got blood on the swab again. I also swabbed my entire upper lip. I woke up with it inflamed.

Yes they have yellow head pimple like pustules, but I read one MD say you can get pimples on top of cold sores. You can also get a swollen lip with 0 pustules, my brother gets that type.

Here is two days ago

Swab results will come forth tomorrow. This result and my forthcoming wb result will make Wilson apologize.

@Mikeike3 what’s that about? I have done nothing but support you in getting to the truth. What would I be apologising about?

You're wrong diagnosis and assessment of course. You are very confident it isn't h. If it is you should admit you were wrong and apologize for not being more open.

You also didn't comment on the pictures. Cold sores? They swab negative and igg blood tests been negative at 7 months. Western blot was negative at 4 months.

I am not the one making the assessments, you were. I pointed out that your conclusions of (a) whether you had herpes; and (b) whether herpes is causing the symptoms were unsupported by the evidence you had and what is generally known regarding herpes.

Of course mate, please remember though, just because I am challenging you, doesn't mean that I don't want you to be anything other than fully healthy and knowledgeable and at peace with yourself.

As we know, pictures are but one facet and the non-uniqueness of herpes lesions does not help.

The first picture is highly unlike a herpes lesion owing to the white pus encasement pearl that looks to be visible there. Being sterile, the skin immune response does not involve the white blood cells in the way bacteria and other agents do.

In the second picture, the larger more central patch is worth looking at, the two patches further along both sides of your top lip look most unlike herpes lesions.

The larger patch to the centre does resemble what a herpes lesion looks like on day 1-2 and would not stay like that for very long. For the following 48 hours you'd expect to see the tiny blisters emerge and leak such that the area will have a moist feeling. It would then ulcerate which is meaning it pits and the new tender and moist skin layers commence repairing outwards often capped with a scab to facilitate the healing.

@morty1234 funny how those who advocate blocking never actually do themselves. It’s becauae they are unsure of their truth and they know it will not go away.

What do you fear? What have you got to hide?

For 11 months I've been suffering with symptoms of HSV that many doctors and people on this board have assured me are not herpes. I've had multiple swabs and blood work that all came back negative.

Yesterday I received the news that I am positive for HSV 1.  I don't know where it is on my body, but it's likely I have it orally and genitally based on my ongoing daily symptoms and the initial encounter I had with the girl who gave this to me.

I had blood work done through a Rheumatologist. The three tests I had were:

HSV 1 and/or 2 Abs, IgM by ELISA - NEGATIVE, 0.36

HSV Type 1 and 2 by PCR Group - NOT DETECTED

HSV 1/2 IgG Type-specific Ab - HSV 1, 1.25 (positive); HSV 2 - <0.90

This is what the doctor had to say about my results:

"The HSV IgG that was positive means past infection and therefore will always be positive. It does not give a time frame as to when initial infection was and there is not a way to determine that from blood work.
The HSV IgM was negative which implies to acute/current infection
The HSV PCR was negative which means the virus is not circulating in the blood. That does not mean though that it can't be on the surface with mouth or genital lesions. "

It wasn't difficult knowing I have HSV due to the overwhelming amount of stories of people on this forum who were going through similar problems I was experiencing.

Despite almost every specialist in my city telling me "you don't have herpes," "this doesn't look like herpes," "I don't see anything," "99% of people have herpes, what's the big deal?," I tested positive.

It took you 11 whole months to show a low positive at that smh. I took a western blot at 24 weeks and was negative for hsv2. I've never had blisters but this makes me question everything now. 6 months out everything has been negative but I kno the igG needs to be positive so the western blot picks it up. This whole experience has been nuts.

I retook the IGG 2 weeks later and still had a positive result. I am having trouble getting the paperwork, so I don't know the numbers yet.

I had symptoms for months, but it's a bit confusing because I can't prove it was herpes, but I continued to find others with verified HSV infections that had my symptoms.

I also knew that it COULD take months to test positive, so that's why I continued to stay vigilant.

If u don't mind me asking did u test igg throughout the 11 months or at later times. At 6 months for example I'm wondering if u may of had that low positive or equivocal results.

I did not do it every month. When I did test, the numbers were near .20.

Remind me, did you contract this from someone HSV positive?

I had two partners within 2 weeks. One said she had hsv1 orally, the other said she was clean.

I really swabbed the lip good, too. I got blood on the swab and tried very hard to get a lot of sample. I did it at the Dr office and everything.

Damn, this certainly is a curious case.

When I kept testing negative, I seriously contemplated dating again just to see if I infected somebody else. From an ethics standpoint, I realize that is a horrible thing to do, but all of my doctors kept saying "you are fine," and "live your life."

I contracted it in May 2018 after unprotected oral and vaginal sex. I started to have bizarre genital symptoms a few days after sex.

I didn't have the traditional flu-like symptoms until September 2018 after being in the sun for way too long (a known trigger for HSV). At that same time, my then-girlfriend (also in the sun with me)  became really sick, too, and had the same bizarre symptoms on her lip that I was experiencing at that very moment.

April 2019, I test positive for HSV1 at two different times. Before that, I tested negative from May 2018 - March 2019.

That girl I used to date no longer speaks to me, so I don't know her current status. The girl I got this from said it was recommend she get tested for GHSV, but she was too scared to do it and neglected to tell me this. She tested negative after we were together and negative earlier this year. I have no idea what her current status is or what specific tests she had done. She said she suffers from bacterial vaginosis and vaginal pimples, which can be missed as an actual  symptom of HSV. We stopped talking, so I will likely never know her status.

You have left out some details.

The girl in question tested negative by swab and IgG more than 3 months after contact with you. according to previous posts.

Your testing is very low positive on blood.

All your swabs have been negative.

I think people need to know this information to assist them in reaching their own conclusions.

I've had the same thought and ethical concerns. I don't want to spread it, but I've had about 10 blood tests and 5 dna swabs both oral and genital. I also did a few viral cultures, dna blood, igm and igg. Not really sure what to do other than wait for my year mark and re-check

Would it help if she tested positive now and told you? Are you going to confirm via wb? It sounds like you are low positive so worth checking.

I wouldn't say HSV is totally harmless at all as it still poses risk for the women who's pregnant/in labor (despite of having antiviral to reduce the risk = it's never 100% risk-free either) + fatal disease to the babies (kiss of death lol..) + small % of people who are immunocompromised might be in danger because of the virus  Even though HSV doesn't kill us but it sure did create lots of inconvenience in our daily lives = Avoiding your favourite food (because of triggers) + disclosing issues in dating + mental stress (because it's incurable + stigma everywhr) + sex issues with loved one (scared of transmission) + dealing with OBs Most doctors (not all) out there only said it's harmless because it won't kill you (they couldn't care less of how you're going to deal or live with it) 🙂  *Some might even not saying anything at all (they just prescribe some med and sent you home) 😐

Break free Wilsoanus! Accept you are wrong about diagnosing herpes.   theres a world out there for you to join and get a life! I noticed the flurry of new accounts making posts recently that you comment on before others. The original poster then praises you. Nice try creating fake profiles. You are a worse troll than Jay
