can Hsv antibodies go away after few years

Recommended Posts

Needhelp24

I had tested HSV1 at 1.3 and HSv2 negative in 2008. I then went to my doctor and he retested and it came negative again. 10 years later now I tested twice negative for both HSV1 and 2. I went to my doctor and he said i don’t have it but it’s also possible antibodies go away after few years. Is that really true that you even though you may have disease the antibodies do not show up

There are two possibilities.

False positives occur quite a lot when you are truly negative. Also false negatives in the sense that IgG antibodies can become non detectable after many years with the virus.

1.3 is a very low positive and hence has a high likelihood of being a false positive.

Do you get oral cold sores?

No I don’t get cold sores. 10 years back when I retested in my doctors office and it came negative I was satisfied. But my fear resurfaced now, but even if I test and it is negative I don’t know how to conclude, with the possibility the antibodies go away

What do you need to conclude? What will be different about your life if you have HSV-1 from before living memory?

Wilson, I know I am being irrational and thinking of things that are out of my hands. I have a family now and wanted some optimisim to move on. I think you have answered as much as I need. I just will believe I don’t have it for now

In addition I hope you can focus on the fear. There are two base human emotions, fear and love. They are choices. If you choose fear there is no love, if you choose love then there is no fear.

A life lived in fear is a life half lived, choose love, let it guide your thinking, heart and soul.

Right, that's why you spend every waking moment here because you have "PhD's and degrees" That's comical! If you're not messing with someone and hijacking a thread, you get the shakes!

I wouldn't say HSV is totally harmless at all as it still poses risk for the women who's pregnant/in labor (despite of having antiviral to reduce the risk = it's never 100% risk-free either) + fatal disease to the babies (kiss of death lol..) + small % of people who are immunocompromised might be in danger because of the virus  Even though HSV doesn't kill us but it sure did create lots of inconvenience in our daily lives = Avoiding your favourite food (because of triggers) + disclosing issues in dating + mental stress (because it's incurable + stigma everywhr) + sex issues with loved one (scared of transmission) + dealing with OBs Most doctors (not all) out there only said it's harmless because it won't kill you (they couldn't care less of how you're going to deal or live with it) 🙂  *Some might even not saying anything at all (they just prescribe some med and sent you home) 😐

Break free Wilsoanus! Accept you are wrong about diagnosing herpes.   theres a world out there for you to join and get a life! I noticed the flurry of new accounts making posts recently that you comment on before others. The original poster then praises you. Nice try creating fake profiles. You are a worse troll than Jay
