Pain in the base of spine

Recommended Posts

Senators38

It's been 6 weeks since contracting this fucking thing (GHSV2). I've been finding ways to get my symptoms under control. Which is positive. Mentally I'm a disaster but trying to get through it.

I've been having pain at the base of my spine. I'm guessing that the virus is retreating there now that I'm getting a handle on it.

Is there anything I can do that people have tried that can help this? I've read a lot about people with success rubbing certain oils on their lower back and base of their spine. My theory has been attack it from the inside but I'm willing to try anything right now. Not sure where to start. Thanks.

So you have been officially diagnosed? e.g. what testing was done?

Visually diagnosed by a doctor yes. By the time I was able to get to a doctor it was too late for the culture and too early for blood. I suppose it could be 1 or 2. I'm assuming 2 since that's 70% in the genital region. Definitely HSV though. I'm very healthily/fit. I know my body. I've had almost every classic physical symptom including nerve pain, all the associated foods set it off. Removing those foods, balancing the PH in my stomach, doing 24 hour fasts and eventually boosting my immune system with herbs and vitamins made a huge difference. Long winded answer but yes, no doubt in my mind it's HSV.

Sounds like you have it. That said, do you plan on doing the blood work in the near future to make absolutely certain and to also identify which hsv strain you have?

Is this your first OB?

I recommend longer fasting but you're on the right path! Go for threes day, then a week but only if you can! Good luck 👍

Which foods did you remove?

What happened to your body if you ate trigger foods?

Try coconut oil, tea tree, peppermint, neem works great for sore muscles then do some stretches and wrap with Saran wrap for a few hours or longer. Please make sure to use coconut oil as a carrier oil

Hi @Senators38. Sounds like you have the motivation to battle through this which is great. I just had a question. What nerve pain were/are you having? In the legs? Itching? Upper body?

Yes it's my first. I'm thinking I'll eventually get blood work. The confirmation from it would be a bit much for me right now.

I removed coffee, bread, nuts, the occasional beer, melon fruit. I'd get a tingling, itching, swollen lymph nodes when I had a beer and some cashews.

Oatmeal, Ezekiel bread, whey seemed to bother me at first. Now that I'm coming around I seem to tolerate them in small doses.

Did they noticeably swell or were they just sore?

Left leg mostly for nerve pain, sometimes glutes.

Itching on left leg, sometimes feel like its coming from inside my urethra although the original infection was on the base of the penis. Eyes have been itchy, not sure if that's just seasonal allergies though.

Last night I was itchy all over my body. That was a first. Any idea why that would be?

Just swole the one time I had beer and cashews. Haven't other than that haven't swollen since the original infection.

I was thinking 2 or 3 days might be too much stress on my system thus defeating the purpose? Am I wrong?

That's cool.

When you say the base of your spine hurts, is it possibly a disk related issue?

What pisses me off about this whole thing is the girl I was with I had been talking to for 2 years, told me she was tested, clean. Then we finally hook up and I get this shit. Don't trust anyone.

No its below the disk. Like where the spine ends and is between the top of your cheeks.

OK.   So is the skin in that area have a sort of sore/sunburned type of feeling?  Does the pain radiate outside of that area?

I've been suffering from itchy eyes after I had initial flu-like symptoms caused by HSV

Right. I get you. My symptoms sound pretty similar. Problem is about 2 weeks ago I had the itching but no nerve pain where I know I was potentially herniated disc pain. I tweaked my back a weak and a half ago doing deadlifts so decided to back off the lifting. The pain I now have in my left leg feels like real sciatica but I can't work out if it's disc or herpes lol. What bloody timing.

I have been itching all over for 3-4 weeks. Legs, glutes, shins, ankles, feet, thighs, buttocks, lower back near th belt line, elbows, hands, palms. I haven't had any sores/blisters but it feels like the symptoms are HSV2. I get the odd itch at my penis tip and ballbag. Hoping it isn't HSV2 but I think it probably is. Have to wait for testing. Also just feel drained all the time.

I've never heard of itching all over from herpes. Did you read this somewhere?

No it's pretty local to that area. Not really a sunburned feeling. Just a bad soreness whenever I bend over just a little. It almost feels like it would have been an injury but I know it's not.

Yeah it feels to me like when I injured my sciatica. If I didn't have any other symptoms I would have probably assumed that's what it was. From what I've read you get the nerve pain from the initial infection, not later on. I could be wrong. High doses of B6 & B12 have helped immensely with the nerve damage. I take what the upper limit is for an adult. Will back off when it's gone completely. Have to be careful with the B6 though. If you take too much of the inactive form it can cause nerve damage itself. I ordered some in the active form jus to be safe.

Hey @Cas9. That's what keeps throwing people off.. They say it's not herpes because I am getting pain spread everywhere and not had a blister. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions. Buy the nerve pain is predominantly in my lower body. I haven't had this level of itchy pain before especially in both legs. All started around the time of my exposure. I also get pains in my hands/behind my hands, elbows. Also the left side of my face feels a but numb/tingliy. These are all the parts of my body that were really exposed during the sex. Fingers crossed it's not HSV2. It could all be in my head but I won't know till I get tested. Hope and pray it's not. Maybe I'm jumping the gun a little. If my nerve pain vanishes by the end of this week (usually takes 2 or so weeks for my herniated disc to settle) then maybe I don't have HSV2

Ive read people's comments in other threads and on the internet how they never had any breakouts/blisters and are dealing with nerve pain, tingling all over. They found out later as in months/years that they were positive. So I don't think I'm out of the woods yet.

Also been having insomnia and waking up at like 4am. I could just be tired but it could all be connected. I don't know anymore.

If that’s the case you need to get on top of things. She may not have HSV-2 at all. You need to test such that if you have it you’ll need to imform her.

I usually stick to 16-18 hour fasts daily. It helps me.

To all the people estimating 2023 for human trials of what Dr Jerome is working on, we really have to see.  Depending on what is happening right now about that 90% delivery to the SCG and the 50% to TG.  As soon as it is considered an effective cure in mice it will move to a greater animal.  The time to determine results of the mice testing was at most around 45~ days per test grouping. It may be longer for greater animals but I doubt it would be much longer.  If the same level of efficacy is found in the greater animals it may progress to clinic much faster. It may even be granted access to certain people with rare cases of lethal herpes, anything is possible.

Same... on everything. I hated when i saw that the CDC thought It wouldn’t change people’s behavior, therefore, no testing. Screw that. When I was tested before the last relationship I was in, they didn’t even tell me what was Not being tested for. I just assumed all the common or dangerous ones.  However, my ex used it to her advantage and actually used it as a weapon so we would be “stuck together” she would often say happily, and now she’s even denying she has it (accused me) and she wont get tested, leading me to believe this is a strategy of hers - saying she got tested, but keeping the HSV off the books. Psycho  Will be taking her to court for sexual assault soon as she aggressively pursued sex, forcing herself on me as she stripped, and resulting in a disgusting situation of me not interested and her looking back on it often saying, “ive never cum so much.”  I stopped dating for years trying to get life together, and this fuckingNot testing bullshit is beyond stupid considering all of the serious health complications from HSV1 and 2.

Thanks @WilsoInAus   Day +43: Another inspection from the doctor and he is not seeing anything; also a dermatologist in the clinic takes a look. Doctor also is skeptical that cut on left butt check is anything to be concerned about. In the evening itchiness appears but its not too bad- i have noticed that perhaps the area is tender from the previous pain so any sort of touching sets off itchnyess. Speak with Doc and plan is to do a blood test around the 10 week mark. Im also down to 1g/day for Val and will be complete on Sunday. Day +44: itchyness continues but it comes and goes.

Looks like the fundraiser just passed the $25k mark. At some point this money starts to become really meaningful (e.g., $50k may pay for one additional person to work in the lab etc). Also its a signal from the community that there is alot of interest in a cure via gene therapy. http://engage.fredhutch.org/site/TR?px=1709211&fr_id=1574&pg=personal
