I need some answers…

I've been infected with HSV2 for 4 months now and still counting. My OB normally comes with dull cramp/discomfort around pubic and testicle area + 1-2 red bumps. My question is : Is it normal to have an OB with red bump in different location (boxer area)? Isn't it suppose to occur in the same location everytime?

Several neurons were infected. Each neuron branches out to a different location on your skin in the genital region. The virus can become active in any of those neurons at any given time.  So the neurons associated with those 2 bumps you mentioned would have viral replication occurring. Next month, for example, there may not be viral replication in those neurons but instead in some other infected neurons; and of course those other neurons branch to a different skin location.

Also, I've heard that the virus can spread (cell to cell) within the nerve ganglia at the base of the spine (i.e. DRG). You can do some research on that to verify. In the event that it can spread within the DRG, then of course new neurons would be infected that go to different skin locations.  Again, you should check that out because I'm not sure how true that is.
