Looks like we got ourselves another HSV vaccine candidate and they are planning to start human testing in early 2020.

Interesting! The release suggests they want to get preclinical animal data "completed" by end of 2019 with phase I trials in early 2020. That timeline seems.... aggressive? Also does anyone know / have heard of this outfit before- have they been on the radar?

It seems promising they are really optimistic about this . The tone of speech is positive . It seems everyone is now on the side that the focus on glycoprotein D was the reasoning behind the failure of other vaccines. I hope one of these  succeeds and just gets this over with , I can’t wait till the name of this webpage changes its name to EX H support !!!!

I hope Im not raining on the parade but Im a bit skeptical here. Hopefully i end up eating my own words!

Quick thoughts

  • This outfit seems to have come out of nowhere - feels like someone would have heard about them before?
  • The studies they point to are all from the Albert Einstein Group (we know them now as XVac). No original work cited?
  • The website seems pretty bare bones- no real info on the team, the social media links dont actually work, etc. Seems strange?
  • When you do a quick whois search looks like there might be a german connection but its hard to tell (http://whois.domaintools.com/excellbio.io

I looked as well and thought it smelled a little funny also.

Interesting. Seems that theyve been keeping their project and their very existence quiet until after their patent got approved. They just founded the company May of last year which means theyve probably been working on it for years behind the scenes somewhere. Sneaky. Also, seems like the site info was written by a person with english as their 2nd language...🤔

Their projected timelines seem ambitious but youve got to be bold if you want to grab an investor's attention I suppose. They sound damn confident and seems like theyve gotten a ton of work done already; here's to hoping theyve got what it takes.

If you watch her discussion from late last year, Betsy Herald from Albert Einstein mentions how she took all of her work and gave it to a pharmaceutical company for clinical trials and submission to the FDA. Logic would tell me that this is the company, and although I cant be sure, the kinetics of the vaccines seem to be similar in both cases.

I believe, the Einstein School of Medicine partnered and became X-Vax

Good find! Excell Bio might just be licensing the tech from XVax to commercialize it. Happens in biotech all the time. Who knows, XVax might be some think tank who just makes money from licensing... can’t beat that 100% margin!

That is incorrect given statements that XVax has made which can be found online as well in XVax thread on this board. In any case time will tell...

Seems fine to me. Animal testing is what it is, they gather their data from the subjects post-mortem and search for herpes in the physical material of the specimen.

As well as searching for signs of toxicity and what not, I assume. That being said, they will want to make use of their money and make the most of it. I would think that would involve keeping their momentum up.

Sounds like good things are happening though : )

Gotta say I myself am not a very optimistic person but I do have to admit there are alot of things going on right now. I can't tell whether they will succeed or ended up like Gen-003 in the coming years.

I can't remember who said it but the quote was something like 'Gen-003 may have been a failure but its building blocks like this that allow us a path forward, to learn from our experiences.'.

I continue to be suspicious of this group given the lack of any real data about this outfit.

A little bit of searching allowed me to find a bit more data which does not seem to add up:

Maybe I am wrong but all in all I would not hold my breath on this one. Better to spend time tracking Pritelivir, the work from Xvax, Nanoviricides, and others which have demonstrated their work, the science behind it, the trackrecord, etc.

"EXD-12 is a live attenuated vaccine candidate"

Does that sound familiar?

Their website has not been around for long.

Street view of their 'office' reveals nothing, but that is unsurprising as it it isn't somewhere that is expecting guests. There are other renters in the building it supposedly occupies, one of which is a loan agency and the other is some sort of military resource.

"We have added layers of safety-switches in order to make our live
attenuated Herpes virus the safest “living” Herpes virus to date.
Previous studies have shown that in the production process, self rescuant viruses can arise and
become wild-type. While research groups have used two different safety switches individually,
we combine at least 4 different layers that guarantee that no infectious virus can arise."

Well if they don't deliver by the end of 2019 on the research and animal testing then it is safe to say it is going the route of Rational Vaccines.

Edit: Interesting, interesting... The Chief medical officer of Rational Vaccines is located in Florida.. the same location as Excell Biotech. I'll say no more. It would certainly assist RVx's legal issues if they made more money, and maybe even sway some opinions on the ultimate harm of their testing on people (assuming they can fix what they did).

Very interesting....on their website they make reference to a CEO but do not provide a name

Yes, but every married person who I found out about that has this waited 6-8 months into the relationship to disclose it. But maybe you're right. If I had told her 6-7 months in, she'd still have Googled it and flipped out, and maybe it would have been harder then. I don't know. I don't see myself going through this level of pain and rejection so easily next time. I really don't. I'm taking the meds. I use protection. It's been almost a decade since I've had it so I'm not worried about shedding or passing it on so easily. British studies confirm that the first 2 years are the most contagious and we're passed that. I'm just over this. I've never been in so much emotional pain in my life.

@WilsoInAus would really appreciate your input please. Kinda freaking out lol.

Is this herpes? I can’t find any pics that match this exactly and my symptoms don’t really match. I don’t have really any of the typical herpes symptoms other than pictured, so I figured it could be friction as I have recently been having a lot of sex with a new partner. Way more than normal. Started having unprotected sex about 3 - 4 weeks ago. These symptoms only started about 3-4 days ago. Felt burning in some areas and only some very few tiny red areas/spots appeared. Almost shiny in appearance. Seems to settle very quickly. They were only present for a day or so. Also had some very mild irritation after I pee but not during. This spot has 2 small red lumps that are now dry around the outside. It’s like it’s been rubbed off and the skin is dry and shiny underneath. It doesn’t seem to be lesion. There was no puss or any leakage, nor was the skin ever red under them. They also got better within a day or so. I still have red spots around but they are very small and not bunched together and some general discomfort but I feel it’s because I’ve touched it so much! Stressing a bit!  my research tells me friction burn/blister , Fungal ,herpes a bit of it all! I have no idea! Please help! Thanks in advance.

I’m going to force him to get tested ! Thanks for your help !
    • WilsoInAus
@EssenceL25 there really isn't a question mark around the source, it's your latest partner. The median time from infection to an outbreak of lesions upon initial infection is 4 days.  The only thing that isn't certain is the type I suggest.
