My story (pending diagnosis)

Hi everyone, thanks for reading. I’m 29 yrs old from California. Here’s my unfortunate story. I’m not officially diagnosed, but 98% sure I have hsv. Let’s start from the top.

I slept with a girl who was a sex addict (red flag, I’m an idiot). We had unprotected oral and vaginal (I did not consent). Not only that, but I later found out she was bi-polar schizophrenic. Before I found out she was manually ill I was actually attracted because she was an intelligent graduate student with similar interests.

The next day morning she has a full on episode (talking to her self and panic attack) she randomly blurted about having a rash and might have HIV?! We go to the hospital and long story short she goes to the mental hospital for a week. Here I am, have only had sex with two people in my life, freaking the fuck out. Fast forward she gets out and is neg for HIV.

I was still paranoid and had been over washing my parts. 15 days past I start getting genital tingle to pain to redness on the head of my penis. Symptoms since then:

-swollen urethra (gone after 3.5 months)
- genital pain 90% of the time (4months)
- redness on glans and dark spots left over
- muscle twitching in back and legs
- now I’ve been experiencing intense rectal pain for over a month (I literally want to die) I’ve cried multiple times 
-face and back acne (new)
- night sweats, one time
*no classic blisters or swollen nodes

Crazy thing is I’ve been testing negative igg for 4.5 months with two different labs!! Also, two negative PCRs and every other std. Doctor thinks I’m crazy. I have been living in hell for 5 months and have thought about suicide a lot, but could never do it to my family. The energy in my bedroom is dark since the episode. My job has suffered and ignored all my passions. I’m literally on a herpes forum for most the day... a lot of this haunts me...this girl haunts me mentally. My pain is almost 24/7. I’m afraid I’ll never get a diagnosis and she won’t test after the expensive hiv test. I miss my old self...this is unreal, doctors say it’s not herpes...uncomfortable in my own body...I need help...

You are not alone, man. 

The acne symptom is one that I’ve been suffering badly from, and others have posted about having acne after acquiring HSV. 

What have the doctors suggested is happening to you?

Has this girl tested positive?

It has been established by your doctors that none of your symptoms are related to herpes.

This ongoing harassment of other users with misinformation is unacceptable.

Doctors literally have no answers and just say that I had soap irritation and stress induced symptoms saying it’s in my head. 

The only urologist I saw guessed and said it could be herpes. He gave me a weeks dose of acyclovir to try, which actually showed some improvement in terms of pain, but no help visually.

This girl refuses to get tested and was confident that she’s clear. She said she did get cold sores before “but not the big gross kind” hahaha I’m screwed...she was an absolute !*@* and told all the crazy exposures after the fact. We don’t talk anymore and she blocked me. 

Here’s how insane she got after we hooked up. She thought I was a noble prize scientist reincarnated and also wanted to marry me with three kids, after only dating a week. She also tried to “stop time” with vitamin c powder and a rock hahahaha wtf!!! Then gave me an HIV scare...I’m honestly so disturbed...shook to the core...I am a nice honest hard working young guy. I can’t erase this from my mind and the fact that it happened in my only room/living space is a constant reminder.

If you want to give your view on this I’m all ears, but I can probably predict your response after seeing a lot of your posts telling people they don’t have hsv.

No, misinformation is not welcome on anyone’s page. Vigilance needs to be maintained for all our readers, not just you, although it’s of critical importance to you.

The user does not have genital herpes hence the symptoms you align to have no bearing on the question of ‘is this herpes’.

You simply need to ask yourself the question ‘what ought one conclude’ based on your symptoms and testing. Remember it must be objective, not what you conclude but what would one reasonable third person conclude?

Indeed we do share more than Wilso thinks he knows about. Not all of my conversations take place on the forums for all to read.

What improvements did you notice after taking anti virals?

You describe my story and my symptoms, my pain moved to my shoulder, negativ blood test, after 13 months only swab test is positive

Hi Djwah.  Here in the first line of this posting you say "Drs literally have no answers" yet at the last line of your initial posting on this thread you state "Doctors say it's not herpes" and in that same posting you said you have tested negative at 4.5 months by two different labs, in addition having 2 negative PCR swabs . 

Sounds to me that the Drs (multiple Drs I assume) do have answers and have shared them with you and science also has given you answers as well.

Given the information you have received....is it possible your symptoms are from some cause other than hsv?

Pcr swab came back negative again, but my symptoms were down at the time. Doctors don’t have any clue of my pain and now say it’s not hemorrhoids either, just stress related lol what a joke.

Fun fact, I took acyclovir again and they pain and inflammation fades away...must mean something. I’m depressed as hell...definitely did not deserve this. Why god!!

Just an observation.  Why do you even need to go to the Dr  and disregard his/her 12 plus years of medical training plus many more years of actual practice when you will totally disregard their professional diagnosis and disregard what the scientific proof tells you.

Makes no sense to me.

I keep going to the doctors because I keep having pain since this exposure 5 months ago, but the doctors have not giving me any solutions. Only saying it’s not hsv. Nothing else lines up.

They have given you solutions as to what it is not.  That they have done.  If you are looking for answers regarding something OTHER THAN HSV...then continue in your search.  But as for hsv....that is CONCLUSIVELY NEGATIVE. Period.

That’s not good enough for me. Doctors should have answers and solutions not just blow off patients saying my obvious irritation and pain is all in my mind. Also, are you Wilso? I sense a similar tone lol

I admire you for remaining curious, as you should. However the world is not black and white, on any front. 

In these circumstances you need to focus on the most rational explanation with the fewest assumptions.

Youre spending your life in an unproductive spin. You need to take responsibility for your own answer. It is not the doctor’s responsibility.

You are proof that someone can align random symptoms to herpes transmitted from a HSV negative person and then terrorise yourself and others with wild imaginings ... and still not have genital herpes and essentially live a meaningless life.

And here you are only with oral hsv, how can you even begin to judge what someone with genital hsv is experiencing. You have no experience with these symptoms. There is no comparison. Blurne has tested positive, even if it’s a low positive it still counts.

@Quest am I wilso? @blurneworder am I wilso.? It appears this is no longer up for discussion.  I believe you are correct.  You sir, do in fact have hsv 1 - hsv 99.  Congrats!
