The Prevalence Of Flu-Like Symptoms?

I hear a lot of the reference to “flu-like symptoms. Can anyone elaborate specifically?

I experienced a sore throat and some congestion AFTER discovering a sore. Ive been told that usually the flu symptoms arrive first.

Ive also had many coworkers with summer colds

Ive also experienced night sweats, although i HAVE experienced that in the past - and am not sure if its a result of anxiety.

Trying to separate relevant symptoms from unrelated circumstances is extremely difficult

Not speaking from personal experience, but I've read it can be tiredness, achiness, fever, headache - not so much sinus congestion and sneezing like a cold. Night sweats are often associated with HIV but I've read a lot of people that have, or suspect they have HSV, and have night sweats. There is disagreement about whether or not night sweats are associated with HSV-related symptoms, so you may see debates here about that.

Thanks for responding - wish I could get some answers. I've never been in a situation like this before.

I find that I will have a stressful day at work, then the next day I will have the flu like symptoms, by the end of the day I will have an ob.  By then the flu symptoms are gone.

ive heard a lot about the importance of stress management in managing outbreaks. I'm a big meditator, although - since I've been going through the uncertainty, it's been a lot more challenging to "relax".

I was interested to read about the magnesium supplements that someone posted recently.

I tested negative IGg and IGm, but I'm having systems, and since I was put on anti-virals as a precautionary measure, my only options are to wait 12 weeks, or have someone perform a swab, but it's not like I can just drop into a doctor's office for a quick swab whenever I feel like it.

I understand. I'm in the same boat. Please stay engaged here for others trying to find out if they have herpes or it turns out to be something else.

Not to mention, find a doctor that does actual PCR swabs, instead of culture swabs, on demand.
