Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg

Has anyone thought about contacting a few foundations to see if they would throw money into finding a cure?  Even Warren Buffett?  Maybe one of us has some connections?  I am going to Google it.  Heard on an article that a polio foundation was asking for $200 million and Gates thought it was not enough and threw $400 million at it.  I will be watching the documentary on Netflix to see if it makes any mention of this.

Vanish123,

On 5/10/19 I wrote a lengthy letter to Jeff Bezos.  While he is the universes wealthiest human being—he is foremost an investor with a focus on making money and as much of it as he can.  There are more like him, but I’m only one voice.   If finding a cure for HSV1&2 isn’t financially daunting, appealing and worthy, I don’t know what is—It’s the thing Noble prizes are made of.

Here’s an idea, and you’ve already thought of it—rather than asking “has anyone thought”....  Everybody consider writing Bezos, Gates, Buffett, anyone and everyone that just might lend an ear and their financial support, it’s a great idea.

Did I get a response?  Nope,  but I did write a darn good and convincing letter pleading our case and cause.    If everyone  wrote a letter to someone.  Maybe, maybe, maybeeee—you just never know.

And absolutely, I signed my name, address and included my phone number.

Get writing!!!

Henry

Absolutely, Mr. Bezos address is “Jeff@Amazon.com “

May 10, 2019

Dear Mr. Bezos,

Please consider my vision:

Today I received a text from a friend on the west coast reading:  “No face time for me, I have a herpes the size of truck on my lip!”  Later today I read another article about Amazon and PillPack and I had an “ah-ha” moment.

At 75 years, my friend is no kid and has lived with HSV1, the cold sore virus her entire life, HSV1 is one of the eight known Herpes viruses. This is the same virus believe asymptomatically passed to a newborn, lacking a fully developed immune system last year.  Infection set in and the child died shortly thereafter.

In recent news, HSV1 has been noted as potentially having a “correlation” to dementia.  It is unknown how the eight strains of herpes completely affect humans and their health.

On the other hand, HSV2 is generally acknowledged as “below the belt (genital) cold sores”.   While the two are nearly the same, historically both can inflict tremendous emotional, social, physical harm, and even death.

Herpes is an universal disease that has defied a cure, toying with research labs for decades.   I could relate statistic after fact after tragic personal story, but the reality is because the virus can be “asymptomatic”, the disease can be spread by uninformed individuals carrying the virus and unknowingly passing it to their partners.  The World Health Organization has targeted these viruses, stressing the need for action now.

“According to the World Health Organization, 3.7 billion people under age 50 have herpes simplex virustype 1 (HSV-1) — that's 67 percent of the global population in that age bracket. Another 417 million people(11 percent) between ages 15 and 49 worldwide have herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2).”

The CDC states:
  • One in two sexually active persons will contract an STI by age 25.
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that nearly 20 million new STIs occur every year in this country, half of those among young people aged 15–24.

On the bright side, there is amazing research being done by laboratories and university’s alike, but hampered by research dollars, staff, highly sophisticated testing equipment and astronomical costs associated with bringing a new therapy or vaccine to market.

At the same time, the world of research is changing at breakneck speed, knowledge is gained daily and with the innovations like CRISPR, as a modern new world of medicine hurls towards us.

The Fred Hutchinson Center in Seattle, under the eye of Dr. Keith Jerome is doing great work, making strides, constantly advancing.  The Albert Einstein College of Medicine, guided by Dr. William Jacobs is diligent and the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine under Dr. Harvey M. Friedman is very focused.   There also are many companies involved in the development of both cures and vaccinations against, Phylogica in Western Australia is one such.

In the last few years new choices for therapies and vaccination for both HPV and Shingles viruses have become revolutionary for the world.  What may be next?

Amazon is a company built on opportunity and innovation.  What if Amazon moved from the boardroom and space into drug development?  Looking to partner with a team already experiencing success in their laboratories in the development of herpes cures and vaccinations for HSV1 & 2?  Amazon’s vetting process would sort out the best for success in this endeavor.

Conquering these two viruses is a huge economic market opportunity-beyond huge, gigantic.  Amazon is bold enough to invest and take a chance and invest?  It’s a grand opportunity for Amazon, while also PillPack.

Lastly, this is a lifetime opportunity with the greatest reward and gift being to humanity.  This type of opportunity is what Nobel Prizes are made of.

Please give this mental leap of faith complete and sincere
consideration.

Thanking you in advance,

Yes, but every married person who I found out about that has this waited 6-8 months into the relationship to disclose it. But maybe you're right. If I had told her 6-7 months in, she'd still have Googled it and flipped out, and maybe it would have been harder then. I don't know. I don't see myself going through this level of pain and rejection so easily next time. I really don't. I'm taking the meds. I use protection. It's been almost a decade since I've had it so I'm not worried about shedding or passing it on so easily. British studies confirm that the first 2 years are the most contagious and we're passed that. I'm just over this. I've never been in so much emotional pain in my life.

Is this herpes? I can’t find any pics that match this exactly and my symptoms don’t really match. I don’t have really any of the typical herpes symptoms other than pictured, so I figured it could be friction as I have recently been having a lot of sex with a new partner. Way more than normal. Started having unprotected sex about 3 - 4 weeks ago. These symptoms only started about 3-4 days ago. Felt burning in some areas and only some very few tiny red areas/spots appeared. Almost shiny in appearance. Seems to settle very quickly. They were only present for a day or so. Also had some very mild irritation after I pee but not during. This spot has 2 small red lumps that are now dry around the outside. It’s like it’s been rubbed off and the skin is dry and shiny underneath. It doesn’t seem to be lesion. There was no puss or any leakage, nor was the skin ever red under them. They also got better within a day or so. I still have red spots around but they are very small and not bunched together and some general discomfort but I feel it’s because I’ve touched it so much! Stressing a bit!  my research tells me friction burn/blister , Fungal ,herpes a bit of it all! I have no idea! Please help! Thanks in advance.

I’m going to force him to get tested ! Thanks for your help !

@EssenceL25 there really isn't a question mark around the source, it's your latest partner. The median time from infection to an outbreak of lesions upon initial infection is 4 days.  The only thing that isn't certain is the type I suggest.
