I received a blowjob from a stripper.  I got tested 3 days later. I have been sick with the flu and have been home absolutley losing my mind stressing myself to the point where I vomit. My results came back negative. But I now have a cold sore on my lip and I have some red spots on my head.

It does not itch or burn. But I do get a tingle once in awhile.  The tip does feel raw. Granted I have been examing and touch for last  7 days. Here is another look.

Hey @Fred R relax mate all will be good.

Note that strippers do not have a higher incidence of oral herpes than the general population, which is high to begin with.

You mention that you have oral cold sores? That being the case it isn not feasible to become infected from a blowjob genitally owing to your immune system.

Hey @WilsoInAus thanks for the fast reply. I havent had a cold sore in years. This just happened saturday and after 5 days now of stressing and anxiety, high blood pressure when seeing the doctor something popped up on my lip. Some of the research I am doing is indicating a yest infection. I am extremly nervous since I am married and we are pushing for children. I made HUGE mistake while I was drunk. Any recommendations?

@Fred R oral cold sores are for life and often aren’t present for years on end. You still carry the virus already and the immune system is in full swing.

See you doctor and obtain the bacteria STD tests just in case, very rare to be infected from oral sex though.

I did have a couple of questions. Thanks for being here, you are helping me sleep. I did have a negative blood text just 3 days ago.

Does having the sore appear on my lip in this time frame mean more to come on my penis? Also the burn and itching sensation that symptoms talk about, how severe are they?

Hey @Fred R herpes is a locational infection. If infected genitally then that is where you experience symptoms. Without lesions, there is every reason to believe causes other than herpes are at play.

Blood tests are not always useful when it comes to a HSV-1 diagnosis for a bag of reasons. However it might add colour to know exactly which test, IgG, IgM or PCR blood test you had.

General burning and itching are not symptoms of herpes on their own. Tingling, itching and burning is usually caused by stress manifesting as tension in your pelvis in these circumstances.

@Fred R HSV-2 isn’t feasible from oral sex. There’s a low chance it’s even present orally in a stripper and even lower chance of it actually being infectious from the oral location.

Your pictures do not look like herpes, no.

@WilsoInAus

I am getting check at the Ortho again in the morning for swab test. Do you know how long they usually take to come back with results? I understand I may have receiving the blood test too early (3 days after oral sex). Im so scared emotionally I think I ruined my life and plans to have children. I threw the results away before I got home. You responses are helping calm me, although I appreciate honesty at same time.

I’m going to force him to get tested ! Thanks for your help !

@EssenceL25 there really isn't a question mark around the source, it's your latest partner. The median time from infection to an outbreak of lesions upon initial infection is 4 days.  The only thing that isn't certain is the type I suggest.

I asked if it was hsv 1 or 2 and the doctor said it was Hsv2. I’m not sure i just asked him when he was tested last he said this year I said I think we should go test together and he agreed . I’m going to bring it up again cause I really need to know if he gave this to me I wasn’t sure since it was so close to my previous relationship.

@EssenceL25 then it is all beyond reasonable doubt that the current partner is the source. A 'perfect' fit in terms of timing, symptoms and swab. It may be though that the type is not technically known. Culture swabs are very often not typed and just assumed to be HSV-2 if taken from a genital location. If you received oral sex in the days leading into 7 March then it is 50/50 as to whether this is HSV-1 or HSV-2. You could contact your doctor and confirm if the swab was actually typed (which is a second test where fluorescent antibodies for HSV-1 and HSV-2 are added and see which one 'glows').  If that test wasn't done then you do not know type. If you have oral HSV-1 yourself (cold sores) then this will be HSV-2. Does your partner have oral HSV-1? It is somewhat strange for him not to rush and test - many people have a 'reaction' if they truly do not know their status and have concerns that you infected them etc. (not initially rational of course). This indicates he may know his status - or maybe he just isn't simply the sharpest tool in the shed!?

I had flu like symptoms and ulcers on my vagina . They did a culture and I tested positive for hsv2. I asked my partner to get tested he agreed but I’m not sure if he will cause he hasn’t said anything else about it.
