First outbreak

Here you go. The photo is from 1 week after first signs. Single blisters started appearing 3 days after contracting it and went from top to bottom. Didn't look anything like Herpes at first. Only the last blisters that appeared on the penis – of which I have no photo – looked like Herpes.

@WilsoInAus Yeah, it sure does.. That is why I was so confused about it for more than a week. I wasn't lucky to get it tested, the dr just visually confirmed it and prescribed Acyclovir 1600mg per day for 10 days, which didn't seem to be very effective. It's recurring every month so I could still get it swabbed if I find a facility that does it. Also it's been 3 months since contracting, so should appear in blood tests too, but idk.

Here are photos of my 2nd OB which looks way more like Herpes. Photos are in order from 17 Aug, and 21 Aug. From the 3rd OB the symptoms have been less severe and only appeared on the penis.

Hi @Radium.

I’m potentially in a similar boat as you. I have a single and mild pink bump in the same area of the pelvis as you. It’s not painful or tingly and only very slightly tender to the touch. It appeared 3-4 days after a woman grinded her vagina in that area (there was no other sexual contact beyond this).

Everything tells me that I don’t have Herpes (including one doctor), but I’m worried that I could be an atypical case.

Would like to learn more about the lead up to your symptoms and how they first presented.

Thank you.

@Radium that upper sore is suspicious and it’s that short of sore for which a swab would be highly useful.

It could still be bacterial, fungal etc. but I’d have herpes in the mix too, agreed.
What sexual activity occurred in the week before that sore appeared?

@WilsoInAus It was purely genital intercourse and happened over two days with the same person. Since I had gotten out of a long relationship a couple weeks earlier, that is the only way I could have gotten it. I agree, getting the lesion swabbed once it recurs is probably good way to get confirmation. There were some mixed signals at the beginning but since OB #2 it's been pretty much only the typical symptoms.

@RyanD At first I noticed the bumps visually as they were not itchy, tingly and only a little sensitive to the touch. The bumps were relatively delicate and filled with clear fluid. Nearing the 2nd week I had painful and frequent urination that lasted for a week, which never came back again. It took maybe 10 days from the first bumps to get the first sign of typical symptom. After 20ish days, everything was scarred up already. Keep an eye on the symptoms, I think that there's a very very small chance that it's the H unless it develops further. And if at all possible to get it swabbed, that would be the easiest way to get confirmation.
