6 days ago when shaving the base of my penis I found a small 2-3mm hard flesh coloured lump, I assumed it was an ingrown hair and squeezed but seeing nothing obvious happening I stopped and assumed it would clear up shortly.

The following day it was slightly larger and red looking, this remained for 3 days and on the 4th day I thought I could see a hair, picked at it and almost like a small scab came away with a hair in it.

It’s reduced in size but 2 days later it’s still there.

Starting to really worry, I had protected sex with two new partners, one about 6-7 weeks ago and one 2 weeks ago.

Any ideas? Really panicking!!

Thanks in advance!

I had a very similar experience.  Al ost identical except more at the base for me.  Herpes moves rapidly from bump to blister to sore to scab.  The fact it has not changed much is in your favor.  Also.  Herpes is more "on the skin" vs "in the skin" like a pimple.  I'm not a Dr but you really dont have anything to worry about from what you are presenting.

Thank you so much for your response. Did you ever find out what caused your lump?

The fact it has not changed, is “in the skin” and still firm/not looking like I can pop it is starting to make me wonder if it’s something else.

I’m going out my mind and too scared/embarrassed to tell my partner...

No ...I did not.  It was gone after 3.5 days and looked much like what you have.  It's most likely an infected follicle.

But I did turn to Google to try and self analyze.  Dont do it   The internet will kill you if you let it.  I ended up stressing for no reason.  Took a test after 16 days and again at 7 months.  All negative so obviously I was relieved.  So now...hopefully I can share my experience to possibly prevent someone (you) from freaking out over nothing.  And yours is nothing.  Go see your Dr for your own peace of mind.  I dont think you have any thing and He/She will tell you the same.  Just stay away from Google!!!!

It’s been 6-7 days now and I’m freaking out already to be honest... Still a firm, red bump about 2-3mm across.

Unfortunately, I’ve been googling constantly now for a week and struggling to sleep most nights, convinced it’s something bad.

Love to think I’ll be as lucky as you but starting to wonder if it’s not herpes then maybe it’s a genital wart? Currently in Japan so it’s hard to go to a Doctor

It looks like there could be a hair in the middle.  Try applying an anti bacteria ointment or benzoyl peroxide for a few days. Also, apply a warm compress couple times a day.  You are going to be ok.

i have had something similar happened to me. looks like an inflamed fordyce. i was freaking out since I thought it was from an infection. I had this check with an urologist something looked like a red spot and it was that just an inflamed papule from excessive masturbation that ulcerated. anyways, try and having it checked by a medical doctor and if you can get it swab then better!

Hey guys. I was just diagnosed with genital herpes after a visual examination. I've had all the possible symptoms - fever, chills, aches, sore throat, bumps on vaginal area and discomfort when peeing. I'm waiting to find out what strain I have and I have so many questions/am just feeling so terrible so would appreciate any help.
1: Does it really matter which strain you have? Should you still disclose this diagnosis to potential future partners?
2: Has anyone noticed small bumps on their fingers from the infection? Are these contagious? I have small bumps on one finger that haven't broken but are uncomfortable when touched.
3: Is it possible to have infection in both the mouth and genital area at one time? Most of the stuff I've read has said if you have bumps on the vagina then it's genital herpes but my throat is so sore and seems to have bumps way at the back - no sores yet.
4: Linked to Q.3, if I have genital herpes can I spread infection by kissing alone?

      hello,
i was here in june with what I thought was maybe an oral ob.  At that point it had been post exposure by 4 months and i ended up testing neg 1&2 igg.  i just tested again and was neg for both, no new contact.
Monday night my nose all of a sudden became EXTREMELY itchy in just one nostril.  the next morning and day all of these white bumps popped up all over it.  I put abreva all in my nose.  this morning i woke up and it was irritated but all the white bumps were gone.  I calmed down but then i just looked and it looks like there's little erosions inside my nose now.  The dr refuses to swab.  Does this look like herpes?  I'm attaching pics of my nose with the blisters and with the erosions, I circled the erosions.  Also including a pic of my lip from june for reference.

Sorry for the image quality of my nose, one is scarily detailed and the one of the bumps is very blurry.  hard to get a good nostril shot as it turns out
maybe i have a false neg hsv1 test result?
Feeling so defeated it is frustrating to not know what is going on and i feel humiliated by the drs who think i am being crazy for suggesting herpes.

How can GHSV-1 be transmitted genital to genital? How rare is it?

This question has been eating me up for some weeks now, but I am wondering how can ghsv1 thrive in a part of the body it isn’t usually suppose to show up on? If HSV1 typically causes cold sores and the virus attacks a specific ganglia area, how can it survive else where? This makes me wonder are the types of HSV important since you can get in orally or genitally?
