Hi everyone,

I had recent potential exposure to STDs (15 days now) and am concerned a rash I have is the sign of a STD, specifically HSV.

My symptoms are burning sensation in testicals and groin, some tingling across testicals and even further up into groin, very very mild occasional itch, no lesions or blisters of any kind, no pain to the touch, dry flaky skin.

The location of the rash itself is between my leg and scrotum, same spot on both sides, pretty much in the folds where jock itch likes to manifest.  It started about 8-9 days ago and wasn’t getting any better/worse, now it seems to be spreading further down and reaching my butt.  I also have very mild discomfort/pain/ache in testicals from time to time, as well as some mild ache in groin, and what feels like pain/mild ache in penis shaft/urethra, feels similar to blue balls (I haven’t ejaculated since time of exposure, ejaculated 5-6 times a week prior, maybe I’m backed up?) No pain peeing at all, and no rash or visible symptoms on penis.  The rash causes the most discomfort at night when I’m lying down, especially after showering.

I took a full panel STD test from quest diagnostics at 10 days (urine at 5 days for chlamydia/gonna/trich) all negative.  Igg and Igm were both negative for both HSV1 and 2.  Quest is telling me their tests are conclusive, but I am concerned... should I continue to get tests?  I live somewhat close to Wa and could go for western blot, is there a wait time after exposure for this test?

Also went to Dr today, family practitioner, male in his 50s/60s and looked at it and right away said not herpes and gave me prescription for jock itch cream..  he wouldn’t swab/scrape since no lesions.

Appreciate any advice, this is really driving me crazy..  I don’t care how much money a test is, I just want to know if it’s herpes or not.  I have one image below that I took about 2-3 days into rash.  Skin looks a lot more dry and flaky now.  The crease is between leg (left) and scrotum (right) 29m6ic9.jpg

I have had an infection of HSV1 at the end of 2016, diagnosed through an urethral swab. After that, I have had a cascade of symptoms increasing year after year, which I have not been able to diagnose correctly. I am still struggling with the diagnosis and it would be interesting to compare opinions. Symptoms: - Constant irritation on the glans, rash. Small red wounds inside of the urethra. This is what I have associated with my typical symptom of herpes - In the last year: constant conjunctivitis. A bad pink eye lasting for a few days, once in the left eye, the next week in the right eye, and so on - Since a few months: red dots appearing on my fingers and then disappearing after a few hours. Occasionally turning into blisters. Once 2 swollen painful fingers   A doctor made some blood exams and he didn't bother to comment them before throwing me out of his door, saying "you are negative to herpes. you have an obsession and you need a psychologist" - IgM: < 0.9, IgG: > 30 I understand that this means an exstablished infection and I could not expect it to be different. I have no idea what it means the fact that my IgG is so high. I have read that IgM negative in some cases means that there is no recurrence / active or acute infection, but not always. - RF IgA (normal range 0 - 14): 62. I have read that this is an index of an established Rheumatoid Arthritis. This could probably correlate to the symptoms on my fingers. What I do not know is: can it be generated as a consequence of a herpes infection, as an autoimmune disease? Is this the possible reason why some people describe of symptoms getting worst after some years, or having nerve pain?
