I am confused

Recommended Posts

Cherish

Hi I am new to this forum so let me tell you about my history of having herpes. My story is that I have had HSV 2 SINCE 1999, and I am constantly having outbreaks day after day, not really any sores just the itching and tingling, burning, a discharge that creates a smell, sometimes I have the sores but not all the time with an outbreak, I have been taking valtrex for years and years 1 a day and sometimes it was the two a day, and now my gynocologist put me on famvir twice 500mg twice a day and it is still doing the same thing. I mean I have stress in my life right now but I still should not keep having them back to back, what am I doing wrong, please help!!!

Hi Cherish,

It may be something with your immune system and diet. Browse around the forums and site for a bit and you'll find a lot of suggestions on supplements and diet changes to promote a healthy immune system. The common suggestions are vitamins b, c, and also zinc.

Also, there are certain foods that are said to trigger ob's. Off the top of my head I can think of nuts, coffee, chocolate. Check out the outbreak triggers link on this site. Maybe cutting out something in your diet may help. I've been taking a lysine supplement (no meds) and I noticed a difference when I stopped, so I'm back on it. Also, I've noticed that since the holidays have arrived and I'm eating more chocolate and drinking more that I'm having "symptoms" but not ob's. So those little things do make a difference with herpes.

Thank you, so do you think I should keep taking the famvir or go back to my valtrex and do the 1000grams a day and sometime twice a day if I feel the tingling, or should I just stay with the famvir 500 twice a day, I went and bout some aloe vera gel and some centrum vitamins to see if this will work, with my meds and How do u know which aloe vera gel to buy?

I can't answer that question because I'm not on any meds, I just take supplements. However, that info is here on the site. Go to the Fight Back section of the forum. I use the aloe vera I got from the people who make the dynamiclear and it seems ok. I also tried the dynamiclear for the first time last night and I must say, it seems to work well.

cherish,

I've had similar symptoms as in the constant itching and lately I've had a lot of success with taking extra doses of vitamin c with bioflavanoids and red marine algae (up to 1500 mg daily if needed). I also take zinc, b complex, calcium magnesium and siberian ginseng.

I strictly avoid foods that contain corn and nuts. But not everyone suffers from them being triggers. They are the ones that effect me the most severely.

I tried Acyclovir and Famvir and they didn't have long term results for me. I took them for more than 9 months and although they initially helped the itching always returned after several months.

Tried dynamiclear when i did have an actual ob, which is not common for me. It seems to help but burns for about 30 minutes after application. It didn't seem to stop the itch or tingle.

Epsom salts and Aveeno Active Naturals Soothing Bath powders offer a lot of relief if you can use them regularly.

alternative methods

i too bought dynmaclear and it did burn for like 30 mins but when i woke up the next day my sores were healing and don't burn or hurt anymore. i also am taking the lysine and an immune support product called transfer factor plus which raises natural killer cells. my doc did give my a prescription for valtrex but i want to go the natural way first. my suggestion is to read on what supplements help in building up the immune system.

Ok so here’s my background.  I hade my first outbreak genitially about 2 months ago.  I got swabed positive for GHSV1. My blood tests were neg so I am assuming a new infection but who knows if I had it or not.  I been reading on here and other research. So I got oregano oil and started to use it on my lower back with coconut oil to dilute it.  I was putting the combo on and would use a couple large bandaids to apply it and keep it in place overnight.  Did it for about 5 days.  I peeled off my bandaids two days ago and had two sores where the sticky part is about an inch apart.  Does the oregano oil attract the virus to cause an outbreak like this in the spot on lower back or are the sores from irritation of possibly too much oregano oil?  Anyone have a clue if this is an outbreak and caused by putting the oil there?
