HSV-1 Igg 8

Recommended Posts

Desertfox

I recently tested positive for HSV 1 with an IGG of 8. I have had a red rash and dry Foreskin and glans that kind of turned into that red rash with some red bumps as well. I have had this for four months though, it is only irritated when it rubs up against something. There are no puss filled blisters and no pain or discharge when urinating. I had cold sores I’m pretty sure as a kid, I have not spoken with my dr in person because of Covid going around. Do you think this is some kind of skin irritation and that I have HSV- orally or on my Genital’s? I know that 4 months is a long time to have an outbreak, I’ve actually not seen any articles anywhere with an outbreak being that long. Please help I’m having anxiety attacks over this. Thank you

Hey @Desertfox and welcome to the website.

Your test result does indicate that you most probably have a long term oral HSV-1 infection. The lab has capped the result at 8 I suggest and it’s probably much higher.

As such your immune system is running sweetly and wouldn’t allow unchanging HSV symptoms to prevail for months.

Your symptoms do also suggest another cause. Can you get to a doctor to explore some causes? Might be time to escalate to a dermatologist if things aren’t getting better.
