Hey @Aubrey77 these symptoms are not something that oral HSV-1 can cause. In the end herpes would do what it does best and this is cause a sore somewhere on the lips . It might tingle a little as it forms, be inconvenient as it blisters and then crust as it heals and all look a little unsightly. But that’s herpes.    No reason to disbelieve your doctors thoughts on your issues.

Any feed back is welcome. I get these small bumps inside my right cheek. They do not hurt or burst. They just come and go. I showed them to doctors and the say they come up with stress and foods. Problem is I have pain and muscle spasms down right arm and in legs. Are these all ongoing issues for getting virus? I am not sure was going on with my body anymore

Update: met with PCP Friday to get a referral to neurologist. During the discussion he discussed my low white blood cell count from a test I took in February. My count is/was 3.61. I asked him if that could be contributing to slow development of antibodies. He didn’t really react to it much. With that said, I did take another IGG test Friday which came back negative. I’m at week 12 post suppressive therapy and week 14 total without taking AVs. I emailed Terri Warren to see if she feels I need to wait longer to take the western blot to allow my WBC to increase and/or allow antibodies to develop. I want to use the WB as the final step in my testing journey and I don’t want to have to question the results.    Anyone have any experience or knowledge of someone with low/lower WBC and how long it took them to seroconvert?

Hi Guys!

I posted on here a while ago I am coming up to 6 months of hell now with what feels like constant paper cuts on my vagina but not a cut in sight i have had 2 negative tests but at this point what else can it be?

so i took it upon myself to buy valtrex and this has not helped at all i now have what feels like UTI symptoms lol and worse itching so in all i have went through 1 whole box of aciclovir, one box of valtrex been to 8 drs and its not helping me.

I am wondering Isit common for this virus to get worse from antivirals? I am loosing all hope if i do have this virus fine i can work with it but am i going to suffer like this forever? I cant even put underwear on at this point the itching is crazy.

if anyone has symptoms like this I would love some advice its affecting my mental state now.

What test did you get and when?

P.S. If what you have couldn't be anything other than herpes, why bother testing at all? i.e. it could most certainly be something else

I had a blood and swab test igG and IgM 21 weeks after sex and again at 28 weeks.

I would like to know what form of herpes it is so i could read up on how best to treat, the reason i say what else could it be is i have been checked and tested for everything else including cervical screenings

I don't know what "everything else" is. Maybe there's something else, that you need to check for.

You said that everything else you were checked for came back negative. Why do you accept those findings but not the negative result you got on your igG? Is the herpes/igG test more likely to give a false negative?

You read wrong, please let us know where you read that and we will seek to correct that.

So the terrific news is that you do not have genital herpes. It’s the real power of a great website like this one to benefit from experienced members like @Cas9.

im sorry for ongoing symptoms, but you’ll need to return to doctors and specialists for a diagnosis.

You should consider getting a PCR swab (do not let the doctor try to do a viral culture instead) of these cuts. That will help pick up any traces of the virus, if it exists. It's recommend to get swabs in lieu of positive blood tests, if you have persistent symptoms.

You are correct about the blood test; they are not very accurate for a herpes diagnosis.  This is something that any doctor familiar with herpes testing or the virus itself will admit to you. I've had several tell me this, so I trust them and not the folks on here that claim they know whether or not you have herpes.

Papercuts, constant itching, and UTI-like symptoms are not uncommon symptoms to feel if you have herpes. Stories of people experiencing that are all these forums and other herpes support groups. I for one have these same problems due to GHSV1.

Totally incorrect regarding blood tests. You’ve have been warned multiple times before for this childish behaviour.

So here’s another warning, please be more considerate of others and report facts instead of your personal beliefs.

Blood tests for recent infections are amongst the most accurate of any blood test.

It is not even known if HSV-1 can cause paper cuts genitally in a male.

The truth is the truth no matter how you cut.

I will continue to consult actual medical professionals, as should this person posting. I am reporting facts about what happened to me because it was diagnosed by a doctor who studies HSV and knows more about it than you do.

Please do, and when they work out what is actually causing your symptoms it will be great if you could please share that with the forum. We have been all following your story toward diagnosis and hope you get there soon. Please share your story and your journey has come through thinking herpes is causing your symptoms and are narrowing in on the culprits. We'll be right with you. Bless

Look up Dr Handfield's work.  He states Ghsv1 rarely cause problems after the initial outbreak in most cases.  I think you have some misinformation and repeating the same.
