OK, I have white bumps here and there, and much like another guest said recently they VERY easily can be confused as hair bumps, but I've seen these bumps for a while and nothing more has come of it... The bumps themselves on the lower part of my penis don't itch, and neither does any part of it... But my inner thighs are itchy, and have some bumps... Nothing nearly as bad looking as are posted as the pictures or anything - and another question...

How do little bumps turn into something so vicious looking? I mean some of the pictures look so painful, and then some are just bumps that are close together...

This is few bumps, spread a part by a bit... Looks different than any of the ones I had seen in research... I also was told these bumps for the "h" are normally red? I am also having a rash or something in the pubic area due to probably dry skin or something, and think this may be connected... Although I didn't think dry skin caused bumps? Anything I can look for to kinda help me out in finding out. I haven't had any flu symptoms, blisters (knocking on wood), or anything like that - but since all this came up. I've been worried so much that my legs falling to sleep after sitting in class for an hour becomes a symptom. I am ridiculous, but if I pay attention to things that insignificant, maybe I'll notice the other things?

P.S. These bumps seem smaller than anyones I have noted on the site. (I hope)

Guys, thank you - I know that there will be a cure as research intensifies. I've read about a lot on this site, and want to know more about this hydrogen peroxide technique I heard someone talk about?

mmm... its kinda redd-ish around the blisters, but the 'bumps' themselves look like mini blisters... with a small irradescent head on them.

From your symptoms... If I was you, I would not be worried about HSV.

These don't look irradescent or anything, just like little white bumps, and it's not red around the ones I saw that I remember. What exactly do you mean like irradescent? I know this isn't it, but just for future reference?

If you shined a flashlight on them, they would kinda illuminate/glow.

Ok, another question - I never had any anal intercourse, and now I have a few bumps between my genital area and my anal opening... But like I said, I'm not homosexual, and don't let people play around in my anal openings. I dunno what this could be, but like I said... Ugh, I dunno... I saw it today in a mirror while I was inspecting my other suspects. They don't appear irradescent - but in the mirror, with a flashlight I dunno what to make of it. lol This sounds odd, I know... But I know there isn't a way she got to this spot to infect this area. It was covered by my (need technical term for ball-sack), and that leaves very little hope of it reaching there. Does this matter?

Who is "she" and why would you think she infected you? You didn't mention that you had sex with someone who knew they had HSV.. What's the details?

Did you just get these bumps out of nowhere, or did you have sex with a chic, and then wham, get bumps?

But I know there isn't a way she got to this spot to infect this area. It was covered by my (need technical term for ball-sack), and that leaves very little hope of it reaching there. Does this matter?

No, that doesn't matter... Herpes infects you at a contact site.. BUT then it goes deep into your nerve tissue where other nerve tissue comes together, so then the virus, WHEN it becomes active can resurface anywhere where the cluster of nerves goes back out to... So you could have been infected on your dick, but get outbreaks on your sac, or ass, etc.

In THIS case, I think you are just being paranoid. You are going looking for bumps etc.

A person's crotch is a moist place that usually doesn't get much air. Thus, you can get lots of little irritations that would cause bumps, or itching.

IN addition, your sac and skin down there just tends to be bumpy anyway...

If I was you, your key symptoms would be blisters that itched. Not bumps that don't hurt... blisters that itched or felt like a mosquito bite (not felt to the touch, but the itch sensation was similar) Swollen lymph glands are a REALLY good indicator of a viral infection (hsv is a virus)

Blisters that itch, and swollen lymph glands? Do you have that?

I don't think I have any blisters, and I think that this would be fairly apparent - I do have itching when the area is touched... And how will I know for sure that my glands are swollen?

She was on supressive therapy, and we messed around, and I did have contact one time, but she has always been honest with me, and told me that she hasn't had a breakout in a long time, and she knows when she is going to get them.

I probably just being over paranoid, but I needed some reassurance, or just assurance period.

You'd feel a tender lump in your groin... I found a drawing once. I'll see if I can post it again...

here you go...

lymph_system_b.gif

Its the inguinal nodes that get swollen and tender when you get an outbreak.

How noticable are swollen lymph nodes? will there be a big noticable difference? Is there any kind of feeling when they are swollen? Can u describe the feeling u get when they r swollen?

They are pretty noticeable... SO much so that if yours WERE swollen, I suspect EVEN if you didn't know what they were, if I asked if yours were swollen, you'd probably instantly associate my question with a symptom you have.

When I have an outbreak, I can almost always feel the lymph glands swollen without EVEN feeling down there.

(note: I'm talking about the inguinal lymph nodes)

I can be standing straight up, and 'feel' pressure in that spot. Then if I push on it, I feel a lump on one side (whichever side of my body the o/b is at, and it hurts kinda like pushing on a bruise.

Hi "Jeremy"..... I agree, the topic of your HSV status does not need to be something you disclose too soon in a developing relationship..... get to know each other first....see how it's going and as it progresses, then the HSV issue will naturally need to be revealed.... it's my personal opinion though that before there is any sexual encounter you ought to disclose your HSV status.... I know some will disagree with me on this but, I think it is morally wrong not to disclose first.  This can be a make/break situation for most people but, again, I feel it is simply wrong not to give the other person the whole story since your decision not to disclose could put their health at risk.... that is simply not an option in my opinion.  Looking back to my "pre-HSV" life I most certainly would want my partner to disclose their HSV+ status before intimacy so that I could make my decision as to whether I want to take that risk or not....

Thanks, CHT. I appreciate the feedback. The whole trauma of going through this has led me to figure out a lot about myself and my attachment wounds, so I'm taking courses to come out of this better. This girl really was my dream woman in so many ways, it's been the hardest heartbreak to deal with ever. I'm truly in a lot of pain, but using the pain as fuel to launch that new business and work with coaches. I also opened up to my family about HSV, so my parents and sister know now, and they were very loving and accepting of it. Since opening up about it, I feel way better around this thing. After opening up, I also found out that some mutual friends in our family have discordant couples who are married with children, so HSV hasn't stopped them from living a loving life. The thing is... all of these couples I mention did not disclose until 6-8 months into the relationship. So now I'm thinking it might be better not to disclose until I know things are very serious. I'll of course stay on the medication and use protection, but maybe this is a better route than disclosing upfront and scaring women off.

Hey @Lcj987 and welcome to the website. You can be sure that isn't HSV-2, looks nothing like it. It is much more likely to be folliculitis or inflamed fordyce spots.

Hey @JackThrowAway herpes causes an outbreak where it enters the body first and maybe a progressive spread. If it doesn't cause an outbreak at the entry site then it won't cause one elsewhere, it also won't 'jump' upon infection - it would be more likely that the lesions are continuous from the penis to the anus. Nevertheless, testing trumps symptoms or any interpretation of symptoms. The correct conclusive result arises when: you have a positive swab; or An IgG HSV-2 level over 3.5 (Herpeselect test).

Slept with someone unprotected, roughly 2 weeks ago now. I felt generally unwell the couple of days after but I’d been drinking the whole weekend and didn’t have much sleep either of the days of that weekend so put it down to that. 6 days after I noticed these spots appear on the shaft of my penis. Along with symptoms of discomfort in my shaft in the couple of days prior to them appearing. No pain when urinating at all that I have noticed. They don’t hurt, itch or tingle and they don’t have fluid in from what I can see or feel if I squeeze them and have never burst? I went to a sexual health clinic to get checked up, they took bloods to do a full test and looked at the spots but said they saw nothing that concerned them but I’m not sure about that, any advice? The smaller spots under the shaft are just follicles I had diagnosed years ago and non-sti related.
