I called the Edelson Center in Atlanta, Georgia and the nurse inform me that they have to run test which will run about $2000 total in addition to $150 per treatments. Also cash upfront, not insurance information. She said that some insurance coverage will not cover it, so that's why you have to pay when services are render.

AloneinGA,

But what did she say about the effectiveness of the treatment? That's the most important thing! I haven't called the Edelson Center back yet myself. Tell us everything about your discussion with them!

AloneinGA,

Update....I called the Edelson Center. And I am VERY excited. How much did you ask them? Colleen, the patient relations nurse chatted with me for about 15 minutes. It was her opinion that once the immune system is set straight then I probably wouldn't ever have to worry about HSV again. She also said that they DO administer ozone treatments. She wasn't pushy and didn't try to sell me on treatment or a consultation. She just laid out the facts for me and told me to contact her whenever I was ready to come in. I'm going to go in for a consultation after my next paycheck comes in (in about a week). Consultation runs $170 for half an hour. This is reasonable, considering that if a consultation fee wasn't charged there would be people in the center 'consulting' with the doctors all day. Colleen also asked me what state I was calling her from...apparently she has been receiving a fair amount of calls for ozone therapy from around the nation. Maybe I am getting a little TOO excited about this too soon...but whatever. If the treatment helps and I believe in it, then my problem will most likely be solved. AloneinGA, I think we should do this together. Not together in person, but kind of 'in sync'. We could both go have a consultation and then discuss via email what our impressions were, if we think it is safe, the integrity of the Edelson Center, etc. Let me know what you think of this idea. Hope to hear from you very soon.

Believe.

Good Idea. I have the money for the consultation now, so I be calling her tomorrow to schedule an appointment. I didn't ask her if she thinks it will work, but when she discuss the testing I felt that by doing so Dr Edelson can get to the root of the problem.

Hopefully, we will have some good news to share in a few weeks

Doctors Visit

I had half of the testing done. It was very easy. Check blood pressure, urinalysis, and draw blood. (the usual) I should be receiving my first dosage of oxygen therapy by the end of this month. So I'll let you guys know what happens in a couple of weeks.

By the way, the doctor suggested taking lysine and vitamin supplements to assist in speeding the healing process.

Hey that's awesome... sorry to intrude in Georgia, but I was wondering if you can keep us informed in the treatment zone as well? I may be able to copy the posts if its easier...

Thanks!!

Edelson Center in ATL

I am sorry for getting everyone excited about the treatment at the Edelson center. After $1300 for testing, I discover that they will not let you start the ozone treatment unless you are able to receive treatment once a week for the first couple of months. Since each treatment cost about $150, most people including myself cannot afford it.

If any of you discover away to minimize or stop outbreaks let me know. I haven't gave up hope and I hope you guys haven't either.

Please don't get too excited about the Edelson Center. Check out this link:

Best thing to do is wait a few years for a viable vaccine or treatment to be developed. Several biotech companies are doing some exciting research for a viable theraputic solution or, if we are lucky, a cure! So, be careful - there are alot of people out there willing to take advantage by making outrageous claims.

Yes, but every married person who I found out about that has this waited 6-8 months into the relationship to disclose it. But maybe you're right. If I had told her 6-7 months in, she'd still have Googled it and flipped out, and maybe it would have been harder then. I don't know. I don't see myself going through this level of pain and rejection so easily next time. I really don't. I'm taking the meds. I use protection. It's been almost a decade since I've had it so I'm not worried about shedding or passing it on so easily. British studies confirm that the first 2 years are the most contagious and we're passed that. I'm just over this. I've never been in so much emotional pain in my life.

Is this herpes? I can’t find any pics that match this exactly and my symptoms don’t really match. I don’t have really any of the typical herpes symptoms other than pictured, so I figured it could be friction as I have recently been having a lot of sex with a new partner. Way more than normal. Started having unprotected sex about 3 - 4 weeks ago. These symptoms only started about 3-4 days ago. Felt burning in some areas and only some very few tiny red areas/spots appeared. Almost shiny in appearance. Seems to settle very quickly. They were only present for a day or so. Also had some very mild irritation after I pee but not during. This spot has 2 small red lumps that are now dry around the outside. It’s like it’s been rubbed off and the skin is dry and shiny underneath. It doesn’t seem to be lesion. There was no puss or any leakage, nor was the skin ever red under them. They also got better within a day or so. I still have red spots around but they are very small and not bunched together and some general discomfort but I feel it’s because I’ve touched it so much! Stressing a bit!  my research tells me friction burn/blister , Fungal ,herpes a bit of it all! I have no idea! Please help! Thanks in advance.

I’m going to force him to get tested ! Thanks for your help !

@EssenceL25 there really isn't a question mark around the source, it's your latest partner. The median time from infection to an outbreak of lesions upon initial infection is 4 days.  The only thing that isn't certain is the type I suggest.
