Shayna

I think the goal is to keep your immune system strong, and keep your body more alkaline based than acidic.

Booze and cigs (and I'm not sure about pot) throw your system into a more acidic base and weaken your immune system.

I'd say moderation is the best.

ouch

I occasionally drink...I occasionally have a ciggie...usually WITH said drink...

and you know what? I have not had any issues with either one. These do not seem to trigger outbreaks. For me, it seems to be stress and certain foods.

(which, since Cleansing twice...my body is so jacked up on lemon juice I think it is kicking the shit out of the herpes virus! yay! no signs of outbreak(s) in a while!)

So as Shayna said, anything in moderation. I would just abstain from getting super pissed on liquor! Keep the old immune system good and strong!

A lot of times doctor's don't know for sure. And everyone is different. For some people, alcohol is a trigger. For some people it's not. You'll really just have to try it and see.
