Extremely nervous =/ need help

Recommended Posts

papasmirf

ok so i recently had sex about 1 or 2 weeks ago (cant remember) with this girl and everything went fine, it was to my attention that about 1-2 days after sex i started seeing extremely small little red spots or "pimples" on the tip of my penis and around the area under the head of the penis. I have a total of about 20 small spots.

I've been reading up on cold sores and herpes and all that i can't tell the difference and i don't know what i have. Im 17 years old and im really nervous/scared =/. can someone please help me out and give me some info or something?

if anything i will have pictures if needed =/

Nobody can diagnose you through pictures so that won't be necessary. Symptoms can present themselves between 2-20 days from the time of exposure. It could have been cultured within the first 48 hours and possibly have gotten accurate results but it may be too late for that now as the virus only stays on the surface of the skin for a brief period of time before retreating back into the nervous system.

A blood test can detect antibodies and most people will develop the antibodies anytime between 3-16 weeks, some may take longer.

I would suggest you try to get a blood test at about 12-16 weeks from exposure to see where you stand.

If I can help you with anything else just let me know.

i don't want to jump to conclusions and stuff, but lets just say if i dont want to get a blood test just yet, will these "bumps" go away? and could it be something else than herpes? like a rash and what not?

Yes it is possible it could be something else and it could resolve itself. If it is a herpes outbreak it could last anywhere from 1-6 weeks. Your best option would be to go to your local clinic or Planned Parenthood and have it checked out.

I know it is papasmirf, I hope you find out what it is and that it's something you can clear up. It wouldn't be a bad idea though to find out what your HSV status is so that you know before entering into new relationships.

Good luck in your search for answers hun.

PesPes, there is no cure. You can treat symptoms and try to prevent outbreaks, but you will always have the virus and be able to pass it along. There is NO CURE at this point.

Based on the sheet below, it would be around 10% per year without condoms with no active outbreaks. With condoms, 5.2% and condoms and antiviral therapy combined around 1.5-2.5%  https://herpesopportunity.com/downloads/herpes-opportunity-disclosure-handout.pdf

So is there anyone that has tried this for which Valtrex/Acyclovir/Famvir doesn't work and have constant symptoms and problems?   It's expensive but if like 1 pill a week would work it would be worth it.....Trying to figure out if this works for people that the current AV's don't...

Hi just wanted to share someone I found on Youtube who I think gives really good and honest herpes advice. She is an STD life coach who has had genital herpes for 9 years: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC8AkCfC9_bcCvI7-sixkLJg/videos   Also check out Ella Dawson if you haven't yet seen her videos or website. Cheers:)
